Vacation
We are off to Tulum, Mexico for a family trip tomorrow. Today I am packing and cleaning so my dog sitter has a clean house to stay in. I have packed my yarn, needles, and a few books, what else do you need? Oh yeah, clothes, swimsuits and sunscreen for all of us. I better get a move on, hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Socks III
These are my new socks just off the needles. Aren't they adorable? They were very fun to make. They are knit out of Crystal Palace Yarns, Panda Cotton, in colorway Seascape. They fit very nicely and they are for me! Now that it is 80 degrees here in Florida I don't think they will get worn until next fall. I think it will be fun to pull them out of my drawer eight months from now and wear them for the first time, it will be a little present to myself.
I would love to be knitting some other things but I don't know if I am ready to stop yet. I don't feel I have all the techniques down just right yet to put socks away for a while. Maybe i'll knit just one more pair.

Max
This is my lovely furry boy Max. He is by far the most sensitive boy in our house. He is the only Golden Retriever we know that is not fond of children. He apparently does not like to have his picture taken either.
Max would absolutely not look at the camera! I won't look and you can't make me!!!
Okay, I'll look but then just leave me alone!

Dear Blog,
Dear Blog,
First, let me apologize that you have taken a back seat in my life. I really do enjoy writing on you. It's just that I haven't had much time lately. I know you are upset with me. You have to understand that the sheer multitude of people visiting this time of year has had me a bit busy. Yes, I know there are plenty more on their way. I hope you can be understanding that our visiting family lives where it has been very cold, grey and gloomy this winter. Living in Florida we just don't remember how hard that can be.
I know that I have been at the computer a lot, just not on you. I know your feelings are hurt. Please understand that I have had evals to write and my children's grades to keep track of. There have been reports on Mexico and Science Fair to help with. Again, I am sorry.
Knitting has not been a priority. I am almost ashamed at how little progress I have made on any project. I know that you would just like me to write, but this blog is a bit about knitting. No knitting does equal no blog.
As for the weaving, don't even get me started. I haven't done that in weeks and weeks. Weaving involves me being in my bedroom, not the nicest thing to do when you have guests. Today I tried to weave, made a big mistake, tried to fix it and then my dog ran in, got his tail caught up in the yarn and broke it. So again no weaving has been accomlished.
So dear blog please understand. I will try to do better, just not yet. More visitors arrive this week.

Visitors, Visitors Everywhere!
I think blogging is going to be very tough for me this spring. We had visitors last week and this week, too! I love to have everyone, especially family. We live away from most of our family so when they take the time out of their busy lives to come visit us, I feel blessed. Of course after the winter everyone has had, Florida isn't such a bad place to visit.
I haven't been knitting very much. The loom stands quietly off in the corner of my bedroom. the flowers I planted are looking good for the most part, except the ones that have been a deer's midnight snack. I think this is how it will be in my life through the month of March and into April.
This is my oldest son. He is a very good swimmer. Last weekend we went to a swim meet in Orlando. He was amazing. Another reason minimal knitting has been accomplished. I love to watch him swim. He is usually very focused as you can see by the game face he has on in this picture. He is a really great kid and I am so proud of him. I don't think it is easy growing up in these times. Life was simplier when I was growing up and I am really not that old. At least most days I don't feel that old. I am proud of him for growing up in a time where information travels at the speed of sound, and so much of what you do is on Youtube, Facebook and Myspace. It can't be easy. But he is trying to be a good guy.
