Moving Forward

Thank you all so much for your kind words and well wishes.  My Mother passed away Thursday morning, peacefully in her sleep.  I am sad, sometimes very sad but I am so happy for her that she is free from the body that was literally keeping her trapped.  She is at peace, she died knowing she was loved and now she is free, that is pretty special.

So now I try to move forward, because that is what life is all about.  You still have to do the things you need to do to make the day work for everyone in your family.  You still get to snuggle your beautiful dog, you still have to take a little boy to all of his appointments.  Life moves on and so must you, even if some moments you feel you are not ready to.

I have enjoyed this little break of mine.  I have to be honest sometimes I feel guilty when I can not blog.  Not the posting part, I don't ever feel guilty about that, the visiting part gets to me.  You see I love to see what you are all up to, and I feel bad if I can't visit and leave you a few words here and there.  I want you all to know that if you take the time to post I would like to take the time to comment, but that is just not always feasible.  I will try to get back in the saddle again, so to speak. But for today I am starting fresh and not going to try and drive myself crazy catching up, if you have something you want me to know, something you don't want me to miss you had better tell me straight out or I might miss the big news entirely.

I hope you have had a good week.  I hope the sun is shinning in your world and the weekend has been restful and peaceful.  I am going to enjoy my last day before I begin work again, maybe some knitting, maybe some cuddling with little boys, maybe even some with big boys, too!  And of course cuddling with a sweet boy with fur.

Look at the beautiful flowers my neighbor brought over when she heard about my Mom.  See I am blessed.  Wishing you a wonderful week.

  9. Meredith, I am so very sorry about your mom. Grief is a strange creature. You will find it has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it. Be kind to yourself, and please don't for a single minute feel bad that you aren't able to keep up with blogs right now. When my dad died two and a half years ago I took a couple weeks off from blogging. I just didn't have the heart to write or read anything. Hugs to you my dear blogging friend.

  13. Dear Meredith, I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing, but you are right, she is free. And you had time to process the fact that she would one day be gone. That is a gift.

My boss and his wife rushed back to Canada on Friday night as he learned that his brother sustained a head injury while on the job and after immediate surgery, the prognosis did not look good. I feel bad for him as there is so much negative stuff going on at school. He's been very quiet lately, just too much to do, too many obstacles to overcome because of the owners of the school and now this. One never knows what one day to the next holds.

You certainly don't have to apologize. I feel guilty too when I can't get to see everyone. I hate to post and want people to visit me if I don't have the time to visit back. As it is, I haven't posted since Easter, a week ago. Time just gets away from me. And I can't do it all. At least that much I can admit.

You take care of yourself. Hugs from me, Tammy

  15. In the end, the best thing about death is that the person is no longer in any pain and is not suffering.

But it sucks for those left behind.

I know you will be OK, take your time and just feel how you need to. Take care of yourself, Meredith.

  16. Oh Mere - I didn't know. Sending a very big hug to you, dear friend - how I wish I could give it in person! I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Take advantage of those little boy, furry boy, and big boy cuddles. They are a great help at times like this.

What you say about bloggy guilt is so true - I've been feeling exactly the same lately with no time to visit around. Today is my day to catch up on that.

    Love,
    Sue

  18. Meredith, I am sorry about your mom. She is at peace. We miss them, but we have the memories. Your little guy is growing and a bundle of joy for you and your family. My grandson is being schedule to go see a therapist. They are waiting on the appointment. He got thrown from his horse last summer and it could have happen then, you don't really know. Thank you for your kind words. Your flowers are so pretty. Have a wonderful day and we will all be here. I don't get to visit as often as I like. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

  45. Bless you Meredith and your family!
It's difficult sometimes to think that the world will continue spinning and everyone you see and know will continue life as they know it after you have had such a deep and profound loss of your Mom.
Thoughts and prayers go out to you. May your heart hurt less as the days go by and remember that you CAN talk to her - any time you need to and she will hear!!
    Many, many hugs!!

  49. Meredith, I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't been keeping up with my blog reading as you know because my Mom is dealing with cancer. When I think of the wonderful comments you have left on my blog, I feel sad that I didn't keep up with you. Please know, dear Meredith, that my thoughts are with you. I wholly understand what you are going through. My Mom is moving in that direction although at the moment she seems to be doing well.

    Love and lots of hugs.
