Now that I have those pesky presents finished for Little Buddy's teachers and therapists I am in the mood to make something for myself with my new yarn. And just in the nick of time Jennifer from Thistlebear is having a Winter Project Link Party to help keep us motivated and on track through the Winter months.
The first project I am going to make and just started this past Sunday is Flaum by Justyna Lorkowska. I purchased this pattern a few days ago, read it through and cast on. I am going to learn a few new things with this pattern, but it will still not be so hard that I can't enjoy my knitting time. I am all for learning a few new steps but I am not going to drive myself crazy being a Master Knitter at this point in my life. I need something to keep my brain moving but not stress me out at the same time if you know what I mean.
As for this beautiful yarn it is also going to be a sweater. Now that I have downloaded the Flaum I just might have to make it again in this beautiful berry colored yarn. This Juniper Moon, Moonshine was slotted for Lily, and when I bought the yarn I fully intended to make this sweater, but maybe Flaum is more practical, we will see. Right now my goal is to just make a sweater from this yarn, I still have time to decide on the pattern.
This gorgeous yarn is next in line for another Zick Zack Shawl this one for me!!!!! I can't wait to cast on with this soft and beautiful yarn. It might have to be a project I have on the go while working on the sweaters. It would be perfect to grab and knit a row or two when I have the time, or when I need something easy to knit.
So my goal is three finished projects this Winter. Special thanks to Jennifer for this fun link party. I hope you visit her and join in the fun, you can make anything you want. Come on I know you want to join in all the fun!
Also special thanks for all of your kind comments about my glitter leaves, they look so beautiful in my window, I wish you could see them all together sparkling and glistening in the light.

Hi Meredith! I'm glad you're joining in the celebration :) I wonder if I will ever make a sweater, but I know I am going to enjoy cheering you on as you make yours, and your shawl! Happy Stitching! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Meredith, thank you for linking up! I'm so excited to have you join. I love the look of all your yarn and the designs you're planning to work on. I'm so excited to see your progress this winter. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, two or three scrumptious things, well done you. It's reminded me that I think I have enough yarn in the cupboard for a cardigan. Must dig it out. Meanwhile I am pressing on with a nice blanket for the littlest boy. I'm down to my last six balls of yarn (it's thick, it only does about an inch and a half per ball). I'm wondering if I'll need more. Hope not though. I shall look forward to seeing your cardigans take shape. Flaum looks like an excellent pattern. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteLook at you with all of those new projects! I'm thinking of joining the party with my log cabin blanket that I've neglected all summer. I went to Michaels today to try to find some leaves and copy your pretty fall decorations. They sold out of them two weeks ago and aren't getting any more. So I went next door to Hobby Lobby and they didn't have any either. Oh well. I guess I need to look back on your blog and enjoy yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings always sweet friend,
Betsy
Yay for fabulous things! I look forward to seeing them all take shape over the coming months! xx
ReplyDeleteThe yarns are all beautiful. I'm very tempted to cast on for a Zick Zack shawl as well. It looks like fun pattern.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yarn and nice looking projects! Knit on.....
ReplyDeleteAll the yarn is lovely and I know you enjoy knitting and yay for something for yourself!
ReplyDeleteLinda
Beautiful colours for all your lovely projects Meredith. I hope you enjoy all your knitting. Some day I hope to do more than make dishcloths but it seems I'm not a natural knitters. It was like starting all over again when I went back to making simple dishcloths after almost two years break! LOL Time does fly. I did not mean to take such a long break but thankfully have been doing other creative things. Hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteFlaum looks like the perfect sweater to throw on just about ANY time.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your winter projects. :-)
The colour of that pink yarn is stunning. Your projects all sound so lovely.

Oh but you are a Master Knitter and the Mistress of some beautiful yarn! What is the yarn for your shawl, please? I love the happy colours. I'm joining in too once I get organised! Happy Week to you, Meredith. x
ReplyDeleteHello Meredith,
ReplyDeleteI admire your knitting very much and can't wait to see it finished.
I love the look of all your projects, the yarn for the zick zack shawl is so beautiful especially. Looking forward to following your progress :) xo
ReplyDeleteI think you're right about learning something new, it's good to pick things up as you go along but not if it's going to stress you out. Flaum looks like a lovely pattern, and you've got some gorgeous yarn earmarked for your winter projects too. I'm joining in with Jennifer's link party too.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful yarn, I am looking forward to watching your progress. Love the yarn you have selected for the shawl, such stunning colours. Good luck with all three projects.
ReplyDeleteYou always make beautiful cardigans! I particularly love the bright pink yarn, a shade perfect for a dull Scottish winter's day. Happy knitting. x
ReplyDeleteI love both of the yarns you chose for your Flaum. (We have a Pflaum Road here so the name of the sweater looks funny to me!) That berry is my very favorite, but gray is the most wearable, so you chose right!
ReplyDeleteYou are so disciplined. I have like 20 items on the needles. That is a crazy amount and I can't find half of them. So I keep casting on. Crazy, I know.
Love your projects Meredith! That sweater is so awesome and will look fabulous in the gorgeous pink also! The zick zack shawl is perfect for the noro yarn and a nice project for grabbing here and there!
ReplyDeleteNice to catch up with you my friend, have a great week and hugs to LB xo
xoxoRobin

ReplyDeleteSo I just went and downloaded this pattern in the middle of making this comment. Spazz much, Pammy Sue? Ha. I'm going to give it a go! :) Thanks for making me smile just now. My day did not start out well. I had nightmares (memories) just before I got up and couldn't stop thinking about it all morning.
I would say you have set a lofty goal there, but I have seen what are able to accomplish, so I have no problem believing that you will create these 3 beautiful pieces. Can't wait to see them.
ReplyDeleteWow, you sure have some fun and inspirational projects to keep you busy! I *LOVE* the berry colored yarn! I think I'm going to join in using my WIP of the wedding blanket.. and maybe show the new yarn I have ordered and how it works up. Have fun! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
