My dear sister Claudia has lost here beloved Scout. Yesterday Claudia and her husband Don had to make the worst decision that we as loving parents to our furry children ever have to make. She is completely devastated, and after my Mother's death less than two years ago, and my Father's recent death, well this one is almost to much to deal with. Won't you pop over and send her a little love? She needs all the love she can get right now.
Knowing she is in so much pain makes me feel a bit ridiculous even posting about anything today. But here we have a finished scarf that I completed this past weekend so I will make this short and sweet.
Made from Sirdar Snuggle Baby Bamboo, a bamboo/wool blend. 250 yards used in total. Bought at 40% off when my LYS closed and has been in my stash for at least 2 years.
This is a much better yarn to knit or crochet with, weaving is very hard with it as it is thin and therefore hard to keep even. It needed a good soaking and then a good ironing in order to realize its full potential. I like it but won't weave with it again.
Claudia, if you are even up to reading anything, know that you are loved and I am keeping up close to my heart.
On top of it all .....I don't know but sad happenings never seem to come alone! I feel for your sister believe me .....life can bring immense joy but it can also be so hard on us.

I'm so sorry for Claudia's loss. Our furkids truly ARE family.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looks beautiful. Is it as soft as it looks?
Was the yarn from Knit 'n Knibble? I know I don't live close enough to have gone there often, but I sure did like stopping each time I was in Tampa.
I sure know what that loss is like. I knew she and Don would be broken hearted.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty scarf. Love the color and texture.
So sorry to hear about Claudia's sad loss. My thoughts are with her and Dan. X
ReplyDeleteThat is such a hard decision. I love your pink work.....Good to know you won't use it again. The ones that give us trouble are as important to chat about as the good ones!
ReplyDeleteMy heart is breaking for Claudia and Don. She and I have been comforting each other the last couple of days. I don't think any of us can handle much more grief. You are a good sister and friend Meredith.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
I'm so sorry your sister had to make that tough decision - the one we never want to have to be faced with. Your scarf is lovely.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry Claudia had to make that hard decision like ones we have had to make....
ReplyDeleteYour scarf is lovely, even though you discovered you don't want to use that type of yarn to weave with again.
Love with lots of hugs to you and yours xxxx
MUITO TRISTE.
ReplyDeleteLove. love your scarf, especially the color!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about Scout...I've loved visiting your sister's blog and Scout was a big part of it. So sad to lose a beloved pet.

Meredith, I haven't been online for the last couple days because my husband had an emergency surgery Sunday night and I've been staying at the hospital with him. I grabbed my iPad tonight when I went home to shower and change clothes. So, this is the first I heard about Scout. Poor Claudia. You girls have had a rough time of it lately. I'll keep her and Don in my prayers. Your scarf is beautiful. Well done Meredith!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Oh bless, such a heartbreaking time for you all xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your sis's loss. I have gone through the loss of 4 dogs and some cats, so I can very well understand how she feels. Your scarf is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your sister's loss, it's such a terrible time when anything happens to our furry friends as they soon become one of the family. Sending hugs to you all. xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear, such a shame. Sending love to you and yours. Jo x
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong with posting something lovely during a time of grief, but I understand why it feels silly. The world just never stops turning, does it?
ReplyDeleteI will be sure to stop by and visit your Dear Sister. Grief is a close friend of mine as well at the moment, and this is probably much sillier, but it helps to be with others who are in the same place.
I am really sorry to hear of your sisters loss and I have popped across to leave her a comment I know and understand just how she feels tight now. Your scarf is lovely. Sending hugs you way today, dee
ReplyDeleteIt is so very sad isn't it. Don't feel badly about your lovely pink scarf. xx
ReplyDeleteOh poor Claudia, I am so very sorry. I'm glad she has you, you are the very best of sisters I think, so very thoughtful and empathetic. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful scarf Mere. It looks so soft. I feel so bad for your sister and her husband. I read her most recent post and you can just feel her grief. All the best.
ReplyDeleteAw so sad sending hugs to you all and your scarf is just lovely Meredith. :) xx
ReplyDeleteSo sad to lose a furry family member :-(

A pretty scarf. I was so sad to read about Scout, but was so happy that she was able to be home for an extended weekend at just the right time. Best wishes, Tammy
