Happy Mother's Day..............

Happy Mother's Day to all celebrating today and all others who just need a positive thought or wish.  Remember you don't have to be a Mother to celebrate because if you are a woman you are mothering someone, loving them and trying to help, that is what mothering is all about.

If you are missing your Mother today, or watching your ill mother succumb to another stage of her life, well I am sending you love because I have been in your shoes and it is hard.

If you never had a loving and caring Mother, I am sending you love.  Hopefully you had a wonderful Aunt, MIL, Sister or friend to take up the slack.

If you love and care for animals and give them the best life possible, I am sending you love and thanks for taking care of those in need.

If you volunteer, teach, or simply connect with the little people next door you are making a difference in someones life. You should be applauded.

To all of you Aunts out there that give their nieces and nephews unconditional love, I am sending you love, too.  You never know how much that impacts a child's life.  I am looking at you Claudia.  Aunt Claudie talks to Little Buddy almost every night on the phone as I stretch out his arms, legs and back.  She is the best distraction of all.

And as far as friends, well we all take care of each other, mothering each other in our own way.  I am wishing all of you a wonderful day and thanking you each for the important part you play in my life.

Happy Mother's Day!

  9. Such a lovely post, Meredith! Happy Mother's Day to you.

LB is getting so big - he looks like a kid instead of a little boy! (And the mustache picture is too much.)

Take care, and I hope you and the family are all well. Give Mr. Max a kiss from me.

  19. This is the most beautiful Mother's Day wish I've read so far.
Because I missed my mother yesterday and all other days, she died of cancer years ago when she was only 53 years old.
Luckily I'm a mother myself and got lovely presents and drawings.
Looking at the pictures I think you had a beautiful day yourself and I'm really glad for you!

  32. Dear Meredith,

Thank you for the most beautiful, thoughtful and caring Mother's Day post, especially for acknowledging all the ways in which people are mothers. We all know those women who can't help but mother everyone around them whether they are children or not.

I am hoping that all of your boys were home to celebrate Mothers' Day with you and it looks like you had a lovely one, with your photographs of your card and gifts. Little Buddy's (or should I say 'Groucho' Buddy's?) moustache photo is hilarious and gorgeous at the same time. Even though LB has different shaped glasses and is not wearing a comedy nose, that moustache shape reminded me of Groucho Marx! I hope the moustache was for a fun, silly, happy reason and not because anyone was being 'grouchy' at the time! ;-)

How can anyone not smile with that picture? :-)

Many happy smiles and hugs to you, Meredith xx
