This week has flown by in a flash, I guess as all of them do. On Sunday Little Buddy was well enough to venture into the pool. It was his first time in this year and he did very well. I sat on the side because this old body of mine is not getting in unless it is a lot warmer. He bobbed around and swam a bit, mostly playing with a shovel and pail on the steps. I hope to take him to the beach this weekend, we need to go before it gets too warm out. There is a fine line here in Florida. We are thin skinned so like the water warm, but not too hot which it will be in July and August.
In other news the boys are officially 6 months old as of yesterday. They are darker in real life than these photos taken this morning. As you can see they would not look at me at all. Bear, the one in the rear is topping out at a slim 31.4 pounds. Hank, looking even bigger because he is in front is denser and taller, he weighs 37.2. Six months is the turning point for behavior or so my Vet tells me. Right now I am not seeing a big change. We are a work in progress............
As for the rest of the week it has all been about work, work and more work. See how absolutely fun my life is?
Hope you all have a great weekend.
It's nice to see the dogs are healthy and handsome-hang in there with the obedience thing-it does require a lot of time and I know you are shortchanged in that area, too. The beach is great right now-enough breeze to be sweet without the swelter!
ReplyDeleteAll your 'boys' are getting so big!
ReplyDeleteOne year has been a turning point for Bert's behaviour - for the worse. Honestly, this week he has driven me utterly bananas, constantly taking things and chewing them up. I am so fed up with him right now. Well, not absolutely right now because he's asleep on my lap with his nose on my keyboard, but when he's awake mostly. I'm with you on the cold water, can't stand getting into it at all. Sorry work is still so busy for you. I hope you have a good weekend with a little 'me' time. Although of course I know that the reality is it's a slim chance. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteTry and get a little time for yourself this weekend.Could Mr Meredith take Little Buddy to the beach and you have some catch up time.I am dreading you will burn out and end up poorly.xx
ReplyDeleteGlad little Buddy was feeling well enough to get into the pool. All youth are a work in progress including those puppies. There should be light at the end of the tunnel.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Your pool looks so wonderful.. do you have a pool guy that keeps it so sparkling clean? Your fur kids are amazing.. hopefully they'll begin to mind and stop the chewing. Meeka chewed on one of my special things.. a little sheep made by a Navajo indian with real sheepskin and broke a leg and left the rest with chew marks.. it was my favorite souvenir from our trip the the Grand Canyon. :-( I hope your boys get the idea of what is okay and what is not okay to chew. I'm sure you have given them plenty of their own chew things, right? I hope you can carve out a lot of down time for yourself over the weekend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteAlways love seeing pictures of all of your boys! Our outdoor pool will open in about a month. Hard to believe as we are expecting a bit of snow again next week.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love the photos of all of your boys! LB looks like he’s having a blast in the pool and the four-legged boys look like they’re laughing at us! I sure hope their behavior improves for you my friend. It takes a special kind of patience to put up with the puppy antics.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Betsy
I think your life could be a sitcom. I'm sure there is an endless series of antics, troubles, and laughs.
ReplyDeleteLB looks very comfortable in the water.
Do go to the beach and think of your landlocked friends!
Yes, the weeks fly by! I’m so not ready for pool time. I feel like we haven’t had much of a spring. Hope you have fun at the beach.
ReplyDeleteTime is running ... Enjoy the weekend! Regula
ReplyDeleteGlad Buddy enjoyed the pool. The dogs are getting big and hopefully they will settle down soon and not eat/gnaw/slobber/tear/shred everything in sight! I did get two days vacation this week from work. One day to the beach. It's been warm lately but cooling down a bit with rain a few days. Have a good weekend and hopefully beach time will come too!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be able to go into the pool! My mum says that hers is 18 degrees centigrade just now. I am not one for cold water, unless it is flowing, in which case I am not that bothered because I have to swim hard to go where I want to.
ReplyDeleteThe puppies look like they could never do anything naughty. They probably egg each other on and then blame the other for any trouble caused... I don't think our dog has ever stopped being a puppy. He doesn't chew up things now but is still a bit crazy. He just stole some half eaten pizza from my son's desk (he is tiny, this is quiet an achievement).
I hope you have a fun weekend with no catch up work at all. Like myself, I am lucky this week! xx
I quite fancy a trip to the beach myself but it's freezing again here, I'll wait until it warms up a bit. The pups are growing like weeds, such handsome boys. I think I was very lucky with Archie as he never chewed a thing when he was a puppy, he was such a good boy. He used to pinch unripe tomatoes off the vine and eat them, crunch stones and try to eat slugs and snails, but that was about it.
ReplyDeleteSeeing LB in the pool reminded me of what I am missing right now but only for a second...Those fur babies are certainly growing up fast. Hope you manage to get to the beach.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear Little Buddy was feeling well enough to be back in the pool. He looks glad to be there! Your dogs are still puppies...not that I'm a dog expert, but I've heard from friends and relatives with dogs that it takes a good year before they start to settle down and behave better. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteAh - the puppers are so cute! They look like muppet dogs!
ReplyDeleteOh my....that pool looks so inviting...it's getting warm here now. Little B looks so refreshed and those pups look like they would like to join him. I think I would too!!
ReplyDeleteHoping you have a great weekend with some time at the beach and some stitching time, too, Meredith. :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI vouch for 6 months for puppy behavior to shift, which is why I don't adopt until they are at least that age. They just seem more trainable then. Paper-eating will last until they are 2; my Watson turned 3 and he has calmed down a lot, but he still likes to shred Kleenex.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the beach! It's rainy and chilly again here. Love your photos and hope you are having a great and relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe doodles are getting so big!
ReplyDeleteLucky you. We can only dream of sunny weather here in the UK. Rain, gales and sleet are forecast for tomorrow. No wonder garden pools are a rarity here. We would never use them!
