A beautiful walk.........

Last Monday I had the honor of going on a walk with one of the little friends I work with, around a small lake in St Petersburg, Fl.  He had just gotten a new camera so we put it to the test.  I encouraged him to look up and he encouraged me to look closer.  We had the best time and his Mom got a bit of a break. The day was beautiful, the temperature just perfect.  I had the best time and as we walked toward his house I felt his little hand in mine and felt so blessed.  Blessed that he was there with me after all he has been through in his short life.  Blessed that I have about the best job in the world.  Blessed our country was soon to be on the right path again, blessed to have a wonderful family and that includes one special boy who I found out later that day had a very tough time at school because they did not have white milk, or regular milk as he calls it, and they actually tried to give him chocolate milk!  Oh, the horror!  I mean how much can one third grader take! I am also feeling blessed that I had a small medical procedure done on Wednesday and was able to rest and recover while watching the amazing Inauguration.  Every moment of it was just so stunning.  The whole day was amazing including the wonderful program in the evening hosted by Tom Hanks.  It has been a spectacular week.  Loads to do still, many things to take care of, but at least they are now actually being taken care of.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, stay safe.

  1. That does look like a wonderful walk, and such great company too. I watched the inauguration too, all the way over here across the pond as I'm sure many did. Our world is such a crazy place at the moment, we all need more stability and calm.

Also so very very relieved and feeling the care and repairing that started the day of, the second day (hard workers) and continuing.

  9. That looks like heaven. I hate the heat but it would be so nice to have a really nice day to get out without wearing a ton of clothes. I can't complain. The winter so far has been very mild but right now I would love some warmth and sunshine.

  11. What a nice time you had a nice time in that gorgeous park.. I didn't know you could grow Banyan trees where you live. I am totally with you about feeling that we have a fresh start in our country now that that criminally insane man has been removed from our White House. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  13. Are those banyan trees? I remember being fascinated by them in Hawaii. A walk with NO coats. That's amazing! It's 16F and snowing here. There is nothing like feeling a little hand in yours. So trusting and full of love. You are a rare and wonderful person Meredith.

  14. How nice to have a walk with a young friend who can give you a fresh perspective in so many ways. What beautiful trees, and what a lovely day.

I have a little chocolate milk once in a while as my lunch, but I'd be outraged if I had to accept a substitute. LOL. We all want what we want.

    Have a relaxing weekend.

  21. Thanks for sharing your beautiful walk, Meredith! It was 28degrees here this morning. I am sitting here with two sweaters on catching up on reading some posts. So glad you are doing well after your medical procedure. Four weeks ago while standing in line while wearing a cloth mask for over 20minutes I fainted. Kind folks helped me up, gave me a bottle of cool water and I was able to drive home safely. Four days later I had some medical tests that thankfully all came out normal...and the bump on my thigh is decreasing. I too feel blessed.
