Well my friends this is as good as I have got this weekend. Pictures of Little Buddy. It has been another working weekend for me. We are getting ready to paint the main areas of the house and it involves a lot of prep work. I am not painting but I am prepping. Yesterday I worked for nine hours, with the exception of dropping off and picking up my car to get a new battery. I think I went up and down the ladder 500 times. I have big planter shelves in my home that needed to be deep cleaned before paint can be applied. Planter shelves are a very bad 1990's Florida home building trend. How I wish I did not have them because all they do is collect dust. And then everything all the way down to the floor needs to be cleaned as well. I cleaned items that were up high on the shelf, packed away some pictures and decorative things and wiped down the baseboards. Also included in cleaning were the windows that I can only reach when I am on tiptoes on a ladder. I had to clean them inside and out and believe me even though I clean them regularly they are a mess. Actually I recleaned the outside ones today and there are still smudges. Gah!!!!! I am about to lose my cleaning mind! So there you have it, my week has been about work, paperwork and cleaning. And I still have much to pack away before the painters get here to start the first week in August.
This is exactly how I feel right now, totally exhausted!
Have a wonderful week my friends, stay smart and safe as that Delta variant looms all around us.
LB does realize he's a blog star, right?
ReplyDeleteLil Buddy looks like he is only mildly tolerating you! lol
ReplyDeleteThe dogs are so sweet sprawled out like that!
I have a window cleaning trick--use only water and two microfiber towels-wring out one-scrub the window then use the dry one to rub the window until it is dry-and it will be streak free! It's a breeze compared to using cleaners!
Dogs do know how to take it easy don't they. Goodness, you've been working hard. A bit the same here. Work or house work or garden work and that is about the sum total of life right now. I hope you have a good week. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty grueling. At least you've got all the boys to keep you company. I have the same problem with the tops of all my kitchen cabinets. No matter how much I clean them they are always filthy. This time I ordered taller ones that I won't be able to clean because they will be too close to the ceiling. I'll let the next folks that live here worry about the mess. No more ladders for this old lady.
ReplyDeleteMy husband gets a bit cranky when I wash the windows, because they become so reflective that birds then crash into them. Good reason not to wash them! (At !East not very often)
ReplyDeleteWow! It sounds like a grueling week! Great photos of LB; he is getting so grown up! Hope this coming week is more pleasant.
ReplyDeletePraying the Delta Variant is no where near you or Lil B or the family. I know you wish the same for all of us.
ReplyDeleteYou are great to start all that work early. My goodness, Im going to have to write a country song for you named Meredith never rested.....
What could be better than LB photos?
ReplyDeleteI got tired just reading your post! I hate excessive dusting so I’m trying to limit the furniture in the new house to easy-to-dust items.
I think I have to take a nap on your behalf now,
LB is adorable as always and nice bro dogs on couch. You've got alot going on. Take care. We had a good time at a family reunion on Sat. Dry and warm weather. No smoke in area which is good. Have a good week and smile!☺🌹
ReplyDeleteI never tire of looking at Little Buddy and those adorable dogs. We have bought a window cleaning machine/Karcher and saves all the hard work, worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteWell they do say it's a dog's life, I wouldn't mind that life lazing about on the sofa! All that hard work will be worth it in the end, that's what I always tell myself when I'm prepping and it seems never ending.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Mere you are a workaholic! You just don't stop! Dusting here is to do it properly a 3 times a day job especially in the summer when all the windows are open day and night! Don't think for a minute I dust 3 times a day I try and ignore it as much as possible! If someone is going to visit I dust just before they arrive! Stop dear Mere put on a bit of your favourite music make a cup of Darjeeling tea and practise a bit of sofa-ing! It looks like Lil B is getting a little blasé about Mum taking snapshots :-) Stay safe Amanda x
ReplyDeleteAll that cleaning makes me feel guilty rather than inspired! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of all of your boys. So much personality. (And so little help.)
Love all of the photos of our boy, but that third one with his eyebrows up made me laugh. :-) And the fur boys look so happy and relaxed. You've made a wonderful home for ALL of your boys Meredith.
ReplyDeleteWe had those same shelves in our last house. I hated them too. They collected SO much dust and dirt. I even found a leaf up there once! How???
I spent yesterday afternoon painting two closets. Huge closets. I hope I never fill them up. There are 4 closets left and the entire inside of the house will be freshly painted. It's so nice when done, but so much work. Dennis was on his way to Spokane yesterday, flying this time. He will come back home Thursday night.
Blessing and love my dear friend.
Betsy
Those pictures of Buddy and the puppies are so great. They bring a smile to my heart.
ReplyDeleteHUGS and blessings,
Kim
No wonder you are exhausted I don't know where you find the energy to climb up and down those ladders so many times, be careful! Never mind Meredith it will be all done soon and you will have a lovely clean bright shiny home. I started cleaning out the garage today it's going to take a few days I think, I feel filthy, how do we accumulate so much rubbish. I love all the photos of your boys. I hope you have a more restful week. xx
ReplyDeleteprepping is just as much work as painting! Good luck with the project and I can't wait to see after photos, loved seeing your son.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure I know what a planter shelf is but the whole project sounds like a tremendous amount of work -- you'll be thrilled when it's done but for now, yuck! Still, nothing wrong with a whole post of Little Buddy faces -- all of which are delightful!
ReplyDeleteYour dogs look so cute. Love the shots of Buddy. I have the same problem with my windows. Oh well. I think you're an excellent housekeeper. Hope you are getting some rest and relaxation.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised you are tired! That's one big long workout, climbing up and down ladders. I hope your working week is not as hectic as usual xx
ReplyDeleteWow all that ladder stepping and understand feeling as tired and wanting to lie down like your dogs. Buddys facial expressions are so cute. Yes Delta here in Oz and I am in Victoria with lockdown no. 5 keeping safe and are both fully vaccinated now.
ReplyDeleteTake care
I've just done a massive catch up on your blog and wow!!!! it's all happening near you. How busy you've been on many levels. I love the Buddy faces!! He is such a young man now and full of fun. I have just returned to work and hit the ground running. Haven't stopped either so I know how you feel. How cute are your furbabies!!! So puffed out from doing....????? lol. Summer keeps us busy in the yard but as we're in the winter in Australia, the winter seems to keep us busy in the yard too. lol Stay happy little wombat. xxxx
