A conversation with my husband......

The other night I was in bed looking at Ravelry on my iPad and I decided to show my husband my Kiribati sweater on the Berroco Kiribati page.  This was our conversation, are you ready?

Me - Hey honey look at this, my sweater is on Ravelry on this Berroco site.
Husband- What is Ravelry?
Me- It is a knitting and crocheting community.
Husband- A what?
Me-  It doesn't matter, they asked to feature my sweater on their site, do you want to see?
Husband- You made that?
Me- Yes, and look here, this designer Melinda Miller asked if she could use the photos of my blankets on her site on Ravelry!

And I precede to show him these photos of the Crazy Granny Square Blankets

Husband- You made those blankets?  I don't remember those.  Who is that one for?
Me- That baby blanket was for Johnny and Becky's baby (his nephew by the way) and you mailed it to them.
Husband- I don't remember that one, you made that?
Me- Yes it is in our family room.
Husband- Right now?
Me- Yes, on the sofa.
Husband- Really?

Ah husbands you got to love them........

  1. Husbands, no matter how many times you show them what you are making, you just know their eyes have glassed over and they haven't taken in a word you have said.

  3. Yes, as soon as knitting or crochet is mentioned, you know you've lost them. Its a bit like me when he mentions soccer. Very funny post :)

  4. Can I tell you how many times my husband says, "you never told me that", when I know for SURE that I DID! :::rolling my eyes:::

You do lovely projects . . . even if the boys don't notice, we DO!

  11. That is hilarious! I guess you need to show him your stuff more often? LOL! Dayle is pretty in tune with my stuff as he helps me by holding the skeins while I roll balls and I make him feel and look at my projects as I work on them. Of course mine doesn't crochet cute things like Alicia Paulson's husband does! Maybe I need to teach Dayle to crochet? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  26. Honestly what are they like. I remember Andy asking me when I was making the elsie shawl from a diagram picture on the laptop. "Do you actually understand that?" Yes I said but I don't understand your wiring diagrams for work! Jo x

  27. This is so funny Meredith! They never notice how their clean socks and underwear "magically" appear back in the dresser drawer either.
Sometimes it's good to fly under the radar (like when you come home with new yarn).

  29. Your recounted conversation with you hubby prompted me to laugh, too, Mere...but should you want him to not notice a project, or keep it a secret, I think you can depend on him :) xx
