Today is a special day my friends, Little Buddy is 8! Can you even believe it? I can't!
We started celebrating yesterday as there are too many people at work today, plus number 2 big brother was home for the weekend and had to head back to Orlando last night. A bit of cake and a few presents early never hurt anyone. He is taking cupcakes to camp today to celebrate with friends, and there will be a few more presents and birthday cake tonight. Today is also Uncle Don's birthday. These two share such a lovely bond and a great day together.
What happened to my baby? You see these birthdays are bitter sweet for me. I am always a bit tearful that my boys are growing up and growing away from me. They should be, but still it is hard. I wish I could keep them little and safe forever.
Speaking of babies, what happened to these two in such a short time? It seems like only yesterday that they arrived here in my home.
Now they are full grown but still have a lot of puppy energy and might I add still love to eat my rugs. This is a before photo because they went to the groomer on Saturday. Bear can have longer hair but Hank gets mats in his hair and it easily starts to get dreadlocks. So they are now much less fluffy but I am sure cooler in the Florida heat.
Here is the after photo with Mr 22, boy do they look skinny!
Before.
After with everyone changing and getting more mature. My mother heart is full when they are all together.
And a special shout out to dear friend Kathy B who made this incredible elevator game for Little Buddy last week. It arrived on Saturday and we played it many, many times. Mr. 22 joined in and got sent back over and over. Little Buddy laughed each and every time his brother had to go back to the ground floor or down the fire escape.
Tomorrow is a special day as well. It is Little Buddy's official adoption anniversary. He has been officially in our family for five years, but it seems like he has always been a part of us. Thank you for sharing in his journey my friends. Have a great week.
Happiest Birthday Wishes to Little Buddy!!
ReplyDeleteEIGHT!? It seems impossible. Yet, it's true. And the pictures certainly tell their story. What a houseful of handsome men you have. Enjoy this important week.
ReplyDelete(And bravo to kathy b for such a terrific and thoughtful gift!)
I love the photo of Lil B with his 8!!!! I had no idea his birthday was now. Im so glad he likes the Elevator game! Poor Mr. 22!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your family with u s. You Inspire us in so many ways Meredith!
I'll take the cake piece with the most frosting THANKS!
I think eight is a lovely age. I do remember it as a child and I remember my boy being eight and it is a happy time. A good age, if one can have a good age. Happy summer.
ReplyDeleteThey all look so beautiful and happy together. It seems like it was meant to be.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday little man, I hope he's having a wonderful day. And no, I cannot believe he is eight, honestly, where does the time go. The top picture is wonderful, so is the one in the pool with his brothers. You're a top mom Meredith, raising them so well. I know what you mean about the bittersweetness of all the growing up though. My baby has less than three weeks left at little school and then he'll be in with the Big Boys. Sigh. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteAll those beautiful boys!!!! You've got so much to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful celebration, a Birthday and a special adoption day. You are truly blessed with three very handsome young men and your fur babies are a delight too.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to LB and kudos to Kathy B. She is so clever and generous!
ReplyDeleteSome day you are going to have three MEN! Can you believe that?
The growing away part is hard. Rachel is home for a few days, which has been wonderful. She leaves tomorrow, and I could cry just thinking about it.
That's a handsome group of guys you have in your life (puppers included)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Little Buddy!

Life is precious and it is such a privilege to share it with those we love, isn't it? Thanks for sharing your life, with us, Meredith. I am typing you my love from Portland, Oregon. And of course your furry boys, too. I'm so glad to follow along with you as your guys grow. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe your little boy is 8! I thought I just read that he was 7! Where does the time go? I know exactly how you feel about wishing your boys were little and safe still. There is nothing like the peace of laying in bed at night and knowing that your kids are home asleep in their beds. This having children who are mostly grown/grown? state of life is very hard on Moms, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAwww, happy birthday Little Buddy. He seems to be growing up so fast, it's bitter sweet when we see our little ones change so fast before our eyes. Such a lovely photo of all three of your boys together, you must be a proud mum. Happy adoption day too.
ReplyDeleteEight is great! They do grow so fast - little boys one day, grown men the next. Bittersweet.
