Celebrating Father's............

I am missing my Dad today as many of you are also.  I found this photo from October 2014 of Little Buddy and my Dad.  It warms my heart.  This little boy brought so much joy to my Dad in his last few years with us.  After my Mom passed away I swear this little one gave my Dad reason to stay around for a while.  I think he is still looking over him and making sure he is safe.  Love and miss you Dad!

  3. What a beautiful tribute! I'm missing my dad today too even though those last few years were rough. As time goes by I only remember the good times and I guess that's how it's supposed to be.

  4. This is my first Father's Day without my dad. Because he had such a long mental decline, it feels like he just faded away. Up until the end, it was his children and grandchildren that made him happy.

  7. What a great photo of your Dad with your little guy. Children sure give us a reason to keep persevering. I'm missing my Dad too in more ways than one. He had difficult relationships, if any at all with all four of us chilren, especially at the end. I still miss him...the Dad I knew as a child.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy

  8. Dear Meredith, missing my dad too. Fathers Day is in September in Australia, and my dad died on Fathers Day in 2009. Fathers Day will never be the same for me. I often wish that I could just have a 5 minute catchup with both my mum and dad now that they have both passed away. Sorry you are missing your dad. Just remember all the happy times you had with him. A good dad is a wonderful gift any child can have for life, although many children miss out on this. Little Buddy has that blessing with you and your husband in his life and he is one lucky little boy. Regards Robyn P.S. how is your cold?

  10. Little Buddy's daily courage and just his sheer will to enjoy life means so much to all of us!
I can only imagine how it helped and delighted your dad to know LB personally.
I lost my dad to a heart attack when I was 17. he was still so young and handsome. I can't even picture him my age of 74 now! I'm glad you had those years with your wonderful dad and that he was close to Little Buddy.

  14. I'm loving this picture, Mere. I often wonder what my mom and dad would think about my grown up children and their children. Honoring our parents, here and gone, is what Mother's Day and Father's Day is all about.

  16. My family dads are dwindling in number as are yours. I care about your dad losses and mine. I am especially grateful to Father God for the dads you and I had who cared for us enabling us to live and become blogging friends. xxxxxxx

  18. Sweet picture and post. So glad you have such a wonderful memory. My Dad is 93, things haven't been good for the last couple of years with him, but he is still with us. He had lots of visitors Sunday at the assisted living center.

  19. Sweet photo of your dad and Little Man.
And yes, I am missing my dad today. Sometimes on Mother's or Father's Day I just don't post anything on social media. I'm thankful for my husband but I miss my dad.

  21. I have a very similar photo of my Dad celebrating his 80th birthday with my 3 year old daughter. She definitely perked up his last few years. So I know what you mean about Buddy and your Dad.
