Deja Vu weekend....................

This is a deja vu weekend.  Just like last weekend we made it to the beach early on Saturday morning.  There was a line to get into the park already at 8:15.  We got in and got set up.  Little Buddy used his new sand tips with his old crutches, they worked but he did not spend much time with them.  Sand and digging awaited.  We dug to China again but I fear that is losing its appeal.  China is a long way away.  I made sand castles on the sides of our area so people would not walk so close to us.  Finally, we went in the water where the waves were small but fun. Little Buddy stayed in a long time and by the time we got out the beach was packed.  A family had put their chairs at the back of our chairs with just one foot between us.  Another family set up in front of us so close the umbrellas they put up were shading us. I know it is a busy beach weekend but this was ridiculous.  We packed up and were in our car by 10:30.  I was so glad that we went and even happier we were away from the crowd and all the noise.  My biggest beach pet peeve besides people getting way, way too close to us, is those that blare their radios.  Why do they think we want to hear all that noise?  Why do they think we want to hear their type of music? I think it is so rude.

After the beach we rinsed off in the pool with Little Buddy's new bubble machine.  Anything with an on/off button on it is a thrill for him, and it makes loads of bubbles so that is a bonus. That is Hank in the background photobombing the picture.

This morning we headed out for our one hour reservation at the splash park.  He had so much fun and once again conquered the slide all by himself.  I was so proud of him.  I can guarantee you I am the only mother at the splash park that needs reading glasses to see her phone for photos and videos.  I got a chuckle out of that.  So many young and beautiful families out there having fun.  I did meet a lovely grandparent couple who were there with their seven year old grandson.  I believe they were also younger than me.  Little Boy doesn't seem to notice the age difference in parents or siblings, we are his family and that is that.

Luna Tuna my granddog arrived yesterday and by evening these three were exhausted.  She is here until tomorrow which is loads of fun for everyone.  She now opens the door to the garage when she hears my car pull in and runs out!  I have to be very careful I don't run over her.  She is a pistol!

I feel the worst might be over with Hank's hair loss.  He is still thinning a bit but it isn't as rapid and it looks like there is growth where the hair has fallen out on both sides of his head.  We tease him about needing a comb over, I am happy he is quite unaware that he looks very different right now.

Freckles, just because they are so adorable.

This three day weekend is much needed.  I saw 37 1/2 hours of kids this past week in four days.  That doesn't include driving time.  I was a bit of a wreck on Friday but am slowly regrouping.  Tomorrow is Memorial Day here in the US.  I am not working seeing kids but will get some paperwork done.  Dad is officially on Little Buddy duty in the morning so I am not disturbed for a bit.  Right now I am going to sit by a cute boy as he plays his iPad and I will knit.  I deserve it and I can keep an eye on him and make sure he is being responsible with video choices and not downloading games he isn't supposed to play.  I am almost at the bottom of the sweater I am knitting, ready to start the bottom ribbing.  I hope to get plenty of knitting time in today and tomorrow.  My goal is to get a good start on all the ribbing so all I have left to do is the sleeves.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  I never forget the sacrifices made by so many to help our country remain a free democracy.  It pains me to see that those in Congress forget these sacrifices and try to sweep an insurrection under the rug like it never happened or was just another day at the Capitol.  I doubt the sacrifices of so many, including the police officers at the Capitol will change any of that.

Stay safe my friends.

I was an older mom, too. And then two of our kids married people whose parents were very young when they had them. So, we are the generation of our DIL and one SIL's grandparents. Their parent could be our kids! So weird.

Enjoy your time off!

So glad you got to enjoy the beach early. I don't understand people who blare their music out, either! Those freckles are adorable.

So glad you got some lovely beach and water park time.

We have had storms for the past 3 days and it is COLD! I even had to put the heat on today.

Wishing you a peaceful and quiet Monday so that you can get your paperwork done and have some fun later.

I go early to our lake on busy days, too. People seem to all want to sit in the same spots. Looks like Buddy had a fabulous time. It's so fun to chat with the kids at the lake and the beach. Enjoy your knitting.

That closeness on the beach sure is annoying. I am glad Buddy had fun and sure looked happy ❤ Love his bubble machine and Hank πŸ• That splash park is awesome as my grandies would say πŸ˜€πŸŒž All doggies are adorable πŸ™‚ Love the freckles.
Memorial days warm my heart but oh so many do not appreciate what they did.
Here mini lockdown and knitting/crochet/sewing my savior πŸ™‹‍♀️☺

Life is precious, isn't it? I am so glad you are enjoying time with family, getting a little break from some of your work, and getting to knit on a project you enjoy! Like you, on this Memorial Day Weekend, I am grateful for those who gave their lives for the cause of peace and freedom for our nation and the world. I continue to pray that those in authority or those willing to serve in authority will have the Lord's wisdom, knowledge, and discernment to make righteous decisions for the good of all... and I also am praying you and yours will have happy days. Thank you so much for your love, kindness, and care, Meredith. ((hugs)) :) from Gracie

I just saw in the paper that they are tearing out our playground and putting in a splash park. They look like fun.

I'm so glad you and LB had such a good time at the beach and then the water park. We have a family that blares their "fiesta" music as one neighbor calls it, down the block from us. No one appreciates it and the neighbors are getting a bit surly about it being on late into the evening.
I love your three musketeers. How I miss my Chloe when I see those sweet faces on your sofa. I want to hug them all!!
That's a lot of children you saw last week. You need to take care of yourself too. I'm anxious for the hospitals to open up again. My sister is a baby rocker at the NICU and I want to volunteer too. I think it would be wonderful.
Take care my dear friend and give all of your boys hugs for me.
Blessings and love,
Betsy

I'm glad you got to enjoy the beach, if only for a short time. We've had a couple of beach days this weekend, we chose a fairly quiet beach which was nearly deserted on Friday, but yesterday, with families off work and school it was a little busier. Still plenty of space so that you don't have to come into close contact with anyone though. Glad to hear that Hank's hair loss isn't quite so bad now, fingers crossed that it will grow back soon.

It's lovely to see Little Buddy having so much fun, yes people can be so selfish they don't care about their noise impacting on others. I'm pleased Hanks hair loss is slowing down and there's new growth. I hope your get your Knitting time Meredith enjoy your bank holiday Monday. xx

Cheeky! Cheeky freckles! My Gran always used to say that freckles are a sign of beauty so..LB is and is going to be a handsome lad :-) Both Sr P and I hate to feel crowded anywhere. ON the beach I spread my things out so as not to get people invading my space but sometimes people can be really ignorant and rude. The worst is when people stand in front of you chatting to friends and practically step on your toes. I'm afraid we then up towel and gear and are away back home! LB looks as if he has had a smashing time at the Splash park too. keep well Amanda x

The beach sounds insane, I can't believe it gets so packed. I wouldn't like to be so crowded and I definitely wouldn't like blaring radios. Not sure how people have the nerve, I'd be embarrassed. The splash park looks brilliant, I'm glad Little B had such a good weekend. Also glad that Hank's fur loss is settling down. Waves of anxiety washing over me here at the moment, so I am hanging on with my fingernails until it passes. Hope you have a good week and that you don't have to work to hard. And I love that Little B doesn't care about ages - of course he doesn't, no-one should really I think. Hugs, CJ xx

I bet he gets exhausted from the beach, I remember being tired as well as our kids when we were on vacation. So glad you took some down time to knit.

What a wonderful time you've carved out of the weekend! I hope you get a lot of work done today to start you off on par tomorrow.
I can't stand radios at the beach either--listen to the ocean! Isn't that why you came....?

My mom always said that having children later in life keeps you young. ;-)

Very well Said, Meredith. I said to Fireman, Thank God Zac never had to be drafted . Thank God we never had to have uniformed men come to our home and bear horrific news. Everyone is so young when they are a soldier. We could have gone to see the moving memorial nearby, but my energy level is still a bit low.

As for Lil Buddy. He is so fun to watch grow up. I know its not all slides and bubbles, but there never seems to be a dull moment

And hooray for YOU! Time to sweater knit on a nice day like today! I can see from Al's photos that Disney is blue skies and in the clear

Kids and water. It's incredible how much kids love being in the water! My seven-year old granddaughter wanted to get in the lake when it was only 60 degrees out. She settled for kicking her feet in the water.

Glad to know you avoided Mom Jail yet again! You must be doing something right. ;)

We talked about the inside of the earth in school today. You may want to tell your son how hot it is and that he has to dig around the hard and stony core of our planet.

Anyway, the boy seems to have the time of his life at the beach. :-)

All the best!

You are good at timing your beach and splash park visits for when it isn't too crowded and then back to your pool for some more water fun. I remember those days of keeping the kids busy and getting them tired so we could all have a rest and some quiet time!
Looks like a fun weekend!

Buddy is getting handsome with those freckles. Glad you had some fun at the beach. Crowds and πŸ“» noise can be annoying. Rarely have that when I'm at the coast. Quite the grand dog you have. I'm figuring out how to rearrange my office area. What to get rid of. Warm day out when we were at a cemetery today. Glad we have a.c. in the car. Have a good week!!

Oh those freckles!! I am so glad you had another fun trip to the beach and the water park. I can see just how joyful and fun it was, your photos capture it very well (I use readers to take photos with my phone). I recently wrote up a rant about my neighbours always playing music in the garden but then deleted it because I thought I was just old and boring and easily annoyed. Pleased to read it is not just me. I think it is rude to play loud music in public places. Hugs xx

what a lovely post. It looks like your weekend was really terrific. I'm with you on people crowding others' space (physical and aural) at the beach. It just doesn't seem polite and usually there's enough room one doesn't have to be close till prime time. But those smiles are worth it all, aren't they? I like the bubble machine. I might have to check that out as a future birthday gift! And I'm glad Hank is improving. All good things - and now you knit!

At least you got a bit of time at the beach we like quiet places too we are not people for crowds. The idea of a packed place be it shopping mall or concert horrifies me, give me a quiet field any day! Have a lovely week. x
