M.I.A.

Yes, I have been missing in action. How does life get so, so busy and just keep you hopping from one moment to the next? Before you know it weeks have gone by and you just feel like you have been on a roller coaster. Can you guess what this towel animal is? I am taking an idea from my lovely blog friend Beth, she posted photos of her cruise animals too.
Our spring break cruise was weeks ago. Since we have been back it now feels like a year ago. We had a lovely time and really relaxed. I did a lot of reading, not much knitting. It was a little chilly and windy but we still had a great time. My boys spent much of the time on the board waiting in line for the Flow Rider. You can boogie board or surf. Surfing was a bit harder. They loved it.
Don't they look like they are having fun?
The prayer shawl for my neighbor is coming along nicely. I am almost done. Just a few more inches and some fringe and it will be finished. I made this exact shawl with the same brand of silk last year for myself. It was a beautiful raspberry color and I love it. It knit up like a dream which is why I purchased this yarn. The funny thing is this yarn has pulled apart right in the middle of knitting many times. At first I would work myself back to the beginning of the row and start with the new yarn. But it began happening so much I just started with new yarn and tied off the ends. I normally don't do that but silk moves to much, it is silky, so it has to have more of a boundary so it won't create a hole later.

As frustrated as I was getting with this yarn I know that what my friend is going through is a million times more important and frustrating. I try to keep positive thoughts going into this project so that she will get the full benefits of this prayer shawls. At times it has been difficult. It will be beautiful once it is done and all the ends are sewn in. Actually no one will be the wiser but me. Isn't that interesting as successfully completed cancer treatments are a bit the same. They are frustrating, you might want to give up, but in the end they work. And it is worth all the trouble to get a clean bill of health.

Hope you are having a wonderful week.
