Calling All Readers

Today we have no pictures, no knitting or crochet.  I have been busy getting caught up from a week away, cleaning, laundry, weeding and more cleaning.  Work, paperwork and more paperwork. Getting my youngest back into the swing of home school and getting my oldest over the cold/flu.  What I am craving now is a good read.  I lost myself in so many wonderful books on my trip I need to read and so far I haven't seemed to find the right book.  So I am asking for some recommendations from all of you.  Have you read anything wonderful lately?

It's always nice to get home after being gone for a few days. We are going to Myrtle Beach for a few days and looking forward to it but always happy to be home instead of living out of a suitcase. I have not read any books lately but I will be looking for a good one too when I fly to San Diego on business with my husband and will be sitting by the pool waiting for him to finish. Have a great day! ~Hugs, Patti

One of the books on my pile to be read is The Violets of March by Sarah Jio. I've been hearing lots of good things about it!

I'm working my way through Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. It's light reading, good for relaxing.

If you want something a little "deeper", I can recommend Night by Elie Weisel or The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Garroway. Both were very good.

No, I haven't read a thing since The Help! Go visit my daughter's blog at Life In The Hass House. (From my blog roll) She is a voracious reader, and actually shares her reads frequently.

It's an oldie and you've probably already read it, but it's one of my all time faves and I can never get enough reads of it...I see something new every time...I guess my perspective of life changes over the years and the messages I receive are always different..."Tuesdays with Morrie". Hugs, Annette

I'm with Annette, "Tuesdays with Morrie" is an excellent read. I recently finished "The Winter Garden" by Kristin Hannah, It was very moving and a real page turner.
Thanks for visiting my blog! Big (((Hugs))) to you!

Hi there, So happy you had a great vacation, now back to real life! DARN!!!! I have a few books.
I'm reading "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese
right now and it is very good. I read all 3 Hunger Games and surprisingly loved them, if you read one you will want to read them all. I can't way to see the movie at some point. The Debbie Macomber series (cedar cove) are very good too and can be read easily. Also addictive!
Hope this helps, xoRobin❤

Although I love to read, I haven't picked up a book since reading The Help. My oldest (new mommy) is presently trying to read Hunger Games, but finding it nearly impossible to get past the first 2 pages because of baby. From all accounts we both hear that is a good book and the rest are suppose to be equally good. I have been busy trying to organize and clean which seems to be a non-ending job for me. I just can't seem to get motivated or stick to the task at hand. Maybe I should grab a book, lord knows I have a small library of books in my living room and many have not been read. Check your local public library, I'm sure they could steer you in the right direction for a whole bunch of good reading.

I loved the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society - learnt a lot from it and it was funny and sad!

I love to read, and am taking notes from your comments. Your day sounds fairly craft-less, but amazingly productive! I hope you find a great book to lose yourself in soon!

It's always hard to get back into the swing of things after being away on a lovely vacation. I picked up The Help before our trip to Dubai and started reading it on the flight over. I can tell by the writing that I will like it but haven't picked it up since reading that first chapter. Tried to get The Hunger Games books for Zack while we were in Dubai but they were sold out at all the bookstores we checked. I bought him a Darren Shan book on Monday that he finished in about 3 hours (200 something pages). He's a fast reader like I was when I was his age. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

Anything by Anita Shreve for me at the moment - she's such a great author and very easy to read. I've just finished 'Fortune's Rocks' and am now on 'Testimony'. Oh, and I forgot about 'Body Surfing'. Also, anything by Barbara Kingsolver, especially 'Prodigal Summer'.
Have a joyous and peaceful Easter.

I'm loving that shawl! I'm so intrigued by the drop stitch, maybe ready to give it a whirl, sounds easy enough!

Oh, and 50 Trillion Gardenia Photos are just fine by me :)

Have a wonderful day, Meredith!!
