Ripple Washcloth Drag!

As usual I took the ripple washcloth thing a bit too far.  I made ten washcloths in one week and I have had enough.  By the time I was done with number ten, I was wishing myself far, far away from this project.
Four variegated red ones for my kitchen.
Four blues for my friend Lynda for Mother's Day.
Two bright ones for another special friend.
On Friday I took my youngest for a short hike in Booker Creek Preserve.  This is an 8,000 acre preserve that house all sorts of wildlife in the middle of a very populated county.  The back end of the preserve almost butts up to my house so we see a lot of deer, wild turkeys, a bobcat or two and some coyotes. I once saw a small Florida Panther, not full grown yet.  It went walking right in my backyard.  I did a double take as this is a very rare sighting.  But sure enough, it looked at me, I looked at it and it ran off into the woods behind my house.  Yikes!!! Thank goodness my Max was totally oblivious to the whole experience.
Next week we may explore some hikes at the beach.
You know I have to include a gardenia shot.  The are so beautiful.

Hope your Sunday is restful and beautiful where ever you are.

Hello Meredith

My Sunday is almost over and now home alone with my socks or celtic knot squares and ... a movie? It's been a cold day, rainy so I felt like a mole staying in my den/nest/hole the whole day.

Wish you a relaxing Sunday afternoon

Regula

I know what you mean when you have to much a good project, but they are spectacular! I especially love the tangerine colored ones!!!

Me again,

I almost forgot. I love the red ones the most. And I know the yellow-orange yarn. At least it looks identical to the one I knitted ... socks ... with some years ago when we were in Canada.

What do you have in mind for your next project?

Wow, you went to town on those cloths! Good job! I might work on Teddy #4 today.. and rest. This last week, even month.. has been very hectic for me. Poor hubby is heading over to our son's house for day 3 of helping him paint his kitchen and living area. He's beat. Your wildlife is exciting!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Your Booker Creek Reserve looks a lot like our Econlockhatchee Wilderness Preserve. I've never seen a bobcat or a coyote there, but I've heard it's possible. A black bear from the wilderness wandered into our neighborhood a few years back. It was quite the excitement for awhile.

Wait, I think I can smell that gardenia!

Love your photos and the description of the natural environment that snuggles up next to you! Being from Cali, we had little of that. And now that we're in Virginia - I see much more wildlife...and marvel at it every time I see anything. I even get excited when wild bunnies cross my path! My girlfriend curses the deer because they eat her tender buds and greenery...she has a forest on her property. I have a privacy fence and that keeps many of the critters out. Two of our goldens (now passed after good lives) had it out with a raccoon in the yard one night. The raccoon lost and it took a police officer out here to dispose of it as it still had some life in it. I knew I was no longer in Cali after that night! LOL Hugs to you, sweet Meredith.

I love your ripple cloths! Especially the blue green one! It reminds me of the ocean. I made a ripple blanket before and I had a really hard time with it!

Dish cloths, completely addictive and portable, yet something one can burn themselves out on. I did the same thing awhile back and have so many I can throw 2-3 in on giveaways, lol. So what are you planning on working on next? Since the weather cooled I was back to making hexes, then my best friend (who is staying in Georgia for a year) wrote me and asked me about selling her a large granny square afghan I made over a year ago. Alas, I gave it as a house warming gift this past winter....so I dropped the hexes and now making, yeah, you guessed it another granny square afghan for her.
That hex blanket seems to always be looming in the back of my mind and seems to be a WIP forever. I just want to be done with it!
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)

The dish cloth binge has you in great gift shape!! they came out lovely.
I live near a preserve, but not right on it. I'm jealous of your wildlife sighings.

I can smell that gardenia from Chicago.

I tend to do the same thing! As a result, I haven't used nothing but hand knit washcloths in years, so it's all good. Love your version!

I also knit things I love over and over! So far I've given all my washcloths a way as gifts. Maybe it's time to knit one for me!

Oh my, you have gone ripple crazy! I love them. I am knitting one now, and think I will do one of your ripple lovelies when I am done. Your story of the wild life is like us here. When we bought this house, it was in the middle of nowhere. Only orange and avocado groves for miles. Now the area is built up, but our long street is all on one acre parcels that were built on a existing orange grove property, so we are still quite rural in our immediate area. We have tons of raccoons, possums, and the like, and then the coyotes wander in to see what's for dinner too. I woke one night to a noise right outside my patio window and flipped on the light to see a bobcat looking straight at me!!!! No thank you!!!! I see deer on hikes in our local hills too. Fun!!! Have a terrific Tuesday!!
XO Kris

That is so neat, to have all that wildlife right in your "backyard." My dogs would go nuts, but I would love it.

I think the washcloths are something I could do! Maybe.
