A New Shawl

I had a  request to make a shawl.  I know you have seen this one before, I hope you like it again.  Made from Rozetti Polaris in the colorway called Cloud Cover.
This is a beautiful yarn to play with.  Can you see the sequins sparkling in the sunlight?  It is so amazing to me that someone would like something I made so much, they would ask me to make one specifically for them!  I get a bit nervous wondering if they will like it when they have it in front of them.  I think people who make things often feel unsure about their projects.

I really love to make shawls.  I envision the person wearing it to be wrapped in love. I love to make them, yet I don't often wear them.  Hmmm.....What is with that?
I had to order this yarn online as my local yarn store did not have it in stock.  I also ordered a lovely cream color with gold sequins.  I think I will make another shawl for a very, very good friend of mine who is moving to New York.  She is moving in June, so soon.  I will miss her terribly.
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

It's sooooo pretty, Mere!

I don't wear them either; don't think I could pull it off. Somehow I think you should be tall and look regal, lol!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

That shawl is gorgeous and I think it will be very pretty in the cream too. I know I love my red scarf that I ordered from your Etsy shop! After I finish my 6 Teddy Bears I'm going to go back and work on my alpaca flower shawl. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

That is very pretty yarn! The sequins top it off beautifully. I'm not surprised you had one requested; your shawls are beautiful! I'm sure your friend will truly appreciate the one you're making for her. New York gets a bit chilly!

It is gorgeous, I know, I have the first one you made and I love it. It can also be worn as a scarf, the yarn is that light. I love the sparkle and have never been sorry I bought it. You do an excellent job, don't sell yourself short. It is wonderful and your friend will love it. New York is cold in fall and winter, she will use it often I'm sure.

Oh Meredith! It's beautiful! I so agree about feeling unsure of others liking our creations! I guess it's just so personal to us and carries our heart in it - and we want it to be loved and cherished. How WONDERFUL that someone asked you to make something especially for them! They'll be thrilled! And one VERY blessed friend will get that other gorgeous piece you're planning! I'm a sucker for ivory/cream anything!!!

Your shawl is beautiful. BEAUTIFUL yarn.

And yes, you are right about the people doing hand craft. Yesterday I had a friend over who makes bobbin lace. She did it in class with students. I think it is great but she mentioned that it was easy (it is not!) and she just a beginner.

I too love knitting shawls but never wear them. I started making cowls instead - more wearable for me. I love your yarn, so pretty!

That shawl is gorgeous! I bought some red yarn with sequins a while back but haven't done anything with it. It's not often that I use or wear what I make either -- I seem to give it all away or stockpile it. We should treat ourselves to our own creations and enjoy them. :) Hope your day is great. Tammy

Very pretty Meredith! I like the sparkley effect! I can't believe in this 90 degree plus heat that I am making a scarf for next winter. Oh well....it is meditative. ~Hugs, Patti

Love your pretty, sparkly shawl! I really like that cream color too. I also like to crochet shawls but don't ever wear one myself. I always think I will, but I never do.

Hello Meredith
I am your newest follower and I've found you via Shari's blog.
I am impressed with this gorgeous creation....it looks absolutely superb. I'm very much a shawl, scarf person and my craze is crochet. I recently crocheted a wrap for my sister in Coats Gedifra which is mohair and Merino wool in a bronze tone..lovely and soft and shiny. However this sparkling shawl looks wonderful I'm wondering if I can get hold of that yarn here but you did mention an online store perhaps you could give me the name of that yarn please...the cream colour is lovely too.

Amnda :-)
