Sister

Today my amazing sister Claudia wrote a moving and sad post about our other sister L.  If you want to take a look you can find it here at Mockingbird Hill Cottage.  It explains why I love Claudia so very much.

I am off to work.  My MIL comes in tonight for graduation festivities and my oldest graduates tomorrow, outside in the football stadium, chance of rain 90%.

Wish me luck.

Claudia's post was great. I imagine her honesty will be helpful to a lot of people in similar situations. You guys make me appreciate my own sister a lot more!

Wishing you luck with the weather tomorrow and everything else!

Claudia really wrote from the heart. I feel bad for both of you and your parents. The main thing is you do have each other...it makes your relationship even stronger. As I told Claudia, I am sending you both a big hug. ~Patti
Have a great time at graduation!

Good luck! Haven't been to Claudia's today. Headed over there. We had a discussion about said sister last time we talked.

You are so lucky to have each other, you both are blessed to have one another in your lives. I have a sister who is living in heaven now,and I miss her so deeply. The love of a sister can not be replaced.

I'm an only child. I always wished for a sister...when I was younger. As I've aged and seen what goes on in the families of friends, it makes me glad to be alone. But if I had what you and Claudia have...I'd love it! Thanks goodness you have one another. We can pick our friends, but not our family...it sucks! Graduation in a football stadium...well, ok then! Wear something waterproof! But I'm sure you guys are well schooled at how to deal with deluges! Congrats, Meredith, on the graduation of your baby! You must be soooooo proud! Hugs and warm fuzzies...Annette

Hi Meredith, Claudia's story and yours is so sad. I feel for both of you. I commented on Claudia's blog and hope time will heal. Thank goodness you have each other. I hope your parents can accept her short comings and know it is not them or anything they have done.
Hope your weather was OK : )

Best wishes for the graduation! And I'm proud of Claudia. It takes courage to write something like that for the world to see. It's good that you still have each other through this. My sister-in-law is the same way, only I know she has a mental illness. I'll keep your family in my thoughts. I know how challenging and hurtful it can be for the family of such lost people.

Meredith, I read Claudia's post. I care about the painful relationships that are a part of your life, and mine, and others and desire that mercy and peace be multiplied to us all.

Congratulations to you and yours on your son's high school graduation...rain or shine!

Families are complicated creatures. I'm sorry about your sister but so glad you have such a great and close relationship with Claudia. I have only brothers (with whom I'm not particularly close, although we haven't fallen out or anything) and have always wanted a sister.

Good luck for tomorrow's weather and congratulations to you and your son.

I feel like I know you and Claudia so well. But, I totally get being the one in town that has to deal with the day to day stuff. So, much different that just being on the phone. Had one of those long days over there yesterday. Thanks for all your sharing it help for me to know I'm not going crazy and this is par for the course. Have a great graduation weekend.

Oh Meredith, I read Claudia's post last night. Honestly, can't stop thinking about it. Things happen in every family, this I know, and sometimes it's just too much to take. Thankful that you have Claudia, I know, I'm thankful for my sister (sistadoggie!) too, but in our extended family, there is much that I don't understand. . . .

Take a breather, enjoy your wonderful graduation festivities and embrace it all!

Thinking aboutcha!! xoxoxo P

In answer to your question:

I did not have to get close to the "cuties". They flew right on up to ME! The are quite bold!
