I am suffering from severe second sleeve syndrome. I have been knitting away on my Sawetelle sweater, row after garter stitch row. I have made really great progress until I finished the first sleeve. That is when things came to a screeching halt.
As much as I love this project, and I am sure I will love it a lot more when it is not lurking in the project basket screaming at me to finish it. I have become distracted. I plead guilty on all accounts of have a bit of Attention Deficit when it come to knitting and crochet.
I realized two days ago that a friend needed these flowers. So I whipped them up and now they have been starched and are drying.
Then I realized that I am going to see my son in a few days and I needed something festive to wear in Ohio State colors. I bought this yarn ages ago to make a scarf for him, so selfishly I made one for myself instead. I still have more than enough yarn for him, and out of guilt I casted on 27 stitches for his scarf last night. Another garter stitch project, but one with very little thought about construction, just a few simple stripes here and there. We know boys, at least this boy, he will lose it just about as fast as he can
.
So I swear upon my knitting honor that I will resume the Sawtelle sweater just as soon as I am back from my weekend seeing my son. I will work on his scarf until then, but when I get back it is sweater time all the way. By the way my scarf is finished project of the year number 35. And I have approximately 51 hours until I can see my boys beautiful face. Hooray!!!!

AWWWW, I want that sweater pattern....no neck shaping!!!
I LOVE your OHio State brilliance!
HAve FUN!
HAve buckeyes...
hope he's happy to see you....
Have a wonderful trip! Besides seeing your son, I guess you'll get to experience some of that fall color and weather you've been missing, too!
You sounds so much like myself. Getting distracted, wanting to start new things whenever they just pop into our heads....It's all ok! Hope you have a fabulous time with your son...happy for you. I know that count down can not come any sooner!
xoxoxo, Shari!
You will feel so cool wearing the school colors on your visit! And I bet you'll have his scarf done by the time you get there - I wonder if he'll wear it when you do so you two can match.. :-) Give him a hug from us!
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
51 hours as of this post... not that you're counting right? I think a festive scarf in support of his Alma Mater is just what you needed to get you through the last few days until you get to see his sweet face again. The sweater can wait until you get back- it's not going anywhere!
Have a wonderful time with your boy - there's nothing like that bear-hug greeting you get when you meet up. I can't get enough of them!Enjoy, Meredith.....each and every minute. x
I say you've made good progress on the sweater and deserve a break to work on pretty scarves and flowers. I particularly like the OSU flower scarf! Where did you get the pattern? I would LOVE to make one of those for my mom. She always has her colors on for game day :) GO BUCKS! I hope you enjoy your time with your son this weekend!

I'm the same about projects...I get sooo bored with just one. I love both the scarf and sweater. I love seeing your knit project...I wish I could knit better.
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful visit with your son;)

You could always knit in the car ... but perhaps you're flying. In that case, the airport is a wonderful place to knit OR crochet. No pressure! :)
What a pretty sweater - you'll get it done soon. It's okay to take a break. Have a great time in Ohio!
Love the Buckeye scarf! Have a wonderful visit this weekend.
I just can't work on one thing at a time, I always have at least two projects out at any one time. But the Sawtelle really looks great, I love that green with the grey.
Have a wonderful time with your son, the cardi will wait!
It's been a while I didn't blog, but when I was back, I just wanted to stop by yours! Your sweater is coming out beutifully! Seems you like grey, right? I have never tried anything in grey before but you have been bringing me lots of inspirations - that's why I just bought some yarn in grey! Let's see how it is going... Love your flower scarf, and the one you are making for your boy, he will love it for sure!
Have a wonderful visit with your son!
Hugs to you,
LS
Beautiful scarf and sweater....
I know you will be on cloud 9 this weekend while visiting Mr. 18.
Drive safely and enjoy all the lovely fall colors on your way up.
Hugs to you and Max, too...and blessings always. :)
Your flowery shawl is great. Have a nice trip! May all your hopes come true. Regula
Great sweater, I like the grey and green, I'm sure when the mood takes your second sleeve will be off the needles and will be a far quicker job than it looks like now.....in the meantime enjoy your flowers, they are lovely by the way.
How lovely to be seeing your boy soon....enjoy!
P.s. I don't do Halloween, but seeing your spiders on your stairs is definitely not for me....bbbrrrrr, gives me the shivers...we don't have any particularly big ones here, mainly spindly ones that wiggle when you go near them, good thing, as I'm not really a fan ;-)
Variety is the spice of life:) I enjoyed seeing you latest projects and am hoping you have a great visit with your son this weekend!!! xx from Gracie
Maybe your son will loose that scarf you made, but you better hang on to the one you plan to wear, your lovely scarf in Ohio State colors. I could see where someone would grab that up in a heartbeat, lol. Your sweater will still be there when you return. Sometimes we just need a break from those over whelming projects by making something simple and easy. It happens to me all the time. Have a safe trip. I'm sure your son will be so happy to see you too. And, thank you for stopping by with kindness and caring. It does mean a lot to me.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
I have major ADD when it comes to crochet and cleaning. :) Hope you are having a great time in Ohio. My mom left OH a few weeks ago and moved back to Mississippi where my brother is still living. Your flower scarf is very pretty. Did you finish your son's scarf in time? Best wishes, Tammy
This all sounds very familiar! Don't you envy those who sew and just whip up a dress in an evening!
Hope you had a lovely weekend with your boy Mere x
Hope you are having lovely time with your son! Don't worry, you will finish the projects and anyway, family is more important than anything!I like the flower scarf, looks very cozy. Anna.
