The big day is almost here!

Decorations are up, gifts have been purchased, boxes and cards have been mailed, I am almost ready.  But the tree is not decorated....... Those gift for my family have not been wrapped..... there is plenty of time left, right?  So what am I doing instead of getting more done, well posting and reading blogs of course.  Actually I was just going to jump in the car to deliver my SIL's to the airport for their flight to Milwaukee, but it was canceled due to poor weather up north, so I just gained an hour of free time! Enough jabbering.  I have this thing for Santa.  Besides trying to be a good girl and hoping I do not get clumps of coal in my stocking I find the big guy fascinating.  For many years I have had a Santa display on my mantel, would you like to take a look?  It changes every year and it looks really lovely at night with the garland lights on, but daytime was the best for blog photos so here you go.

Hope you enjoyed the quick tour, and hope you are all finding some downtime during this crazy time of year.

HOHOHO your Santa collections is darling. I love the old fashioned Santa look. The wooden one holding a star is my favorite.

Today is quiet. and very very dark. I m waiting for snow to lighten it all up a bit.

Im on track with gifting and wrapping and hosting so far....which is good because I have to knock out this upper respiratory thing by work on Saturday!

Enjoy the music, the lights and the friends of the Season!

Merry Christimas, Meredith! Love your Santas. I think my favorite is the one with the holly pants. So cute.

Next year I have a BIG idea for my mantle. But, I need to find some white, battery operated lights.

Santa! The best guy I know! And his different looks always thrill me too! Yours are all adorable! Enjoy your "time" - and then get to work! LOL I have to wrap still! My papers are in the attic and I need someone to be home with me to receive them as I hand them down the ladder. Thus far, I haven't found a willing participant! That's ok, I'll just go buy all new if they don't help pretty soon! Hugs, dear Meredith.

Dear friend, I hope that you are recovering nicely from your flu bug. I read your previous post and know exactly where you are coming from over the wallet and wellness/safety of your son. It is what makes fathers dads and mother's moms. We do not have tunnel vision and are able to see past lost items and to think outside the box. With us it is our children's safety first, nothing else matters, so when I think of those small children that were murdered in Connecticut I can not wrap my mind around how terrible a loss it was for all the parents, especially the mothers. Such a senseless act of violence against children who were still babies. They were angels way before they returned to heaven. People say everything happens for a reason, maybe it was meant to be a wake-up call of some sort. I do think that this has touched all of us caring souls in some way or another.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)

I completely lost sight of commenting on your Santa collection...and what a grand bunch they are too. My hubby use to work with a guy whose wife made the old St. Nicks and she had quite a thriving business too. Makes me wonder if she still does them anymore, hummmmm

It was always tradition in my house, when I was a kid, to still be wrapping presents on Christmas Eve! I mostly carry on that tradition! Hope ou have a wonderful Christmas if we don't hear from you again before then. And hope that flu has cleared up too.

Oh, Meredith, I love your Santa collection! Each is cuter than the next. I am finally caught up on wrapping and mailing and baking. This weekend, I'm going to try to slow down and enjoy what's left of the countdown to Christmas. Although, I still need to go shopping for groceries. . . it never ends, does it? Merry Christmas!

They all look so nice together, and I love those wooden candlesticks.

Our tree isn't decorated yet either - I'm trying to get a bunch of projects out of the way first. And yes, there's PLENTY of time left! :|

Hope the SILs made it to Milwaukee okay - we did get a bit of snow up here.

Thanks for sharing your collection of Santas! They are both a cheery and beautiful lot, encouraging giving abundantly...no coal for you, Meredith:)
There is still time to wrap and I have a few more gifts to purchase. I am headed off to a white elephant gift exchange this afternoon.
I'm having fun and hope you are, too.

That's a fabulous collection! Wonder what the collective noun for Santa's is? A sack? A present? A chimney?

It seems the Midwest was a bit late ushering in winter this year. You have a great collection of Santas. I did a little bit of decorating the other day. Just enough to say I did. :) Best wishes, Tammy
