Sorry Saturday

I am having a sorry Saturday, and it isn't even 8:00 in the morning.  I think most of my week has been just like this.  I think the last few weeks have done me in, I am tired and feel wiped out emotionally and physically.  And to make matters worse I have a stinking cold that has made my lungs not very happy.  Not a horrible cold and flu that so many of you have had, just an annoying one that drains your energy and makes life a bit miserable.  This is what happens to me when I run around too much taking care of others, I should know better but it happens every time.  So my mojo is gone, finished, ca-put, and said farewell a few days ago.  I think I used what little energy I had on my new space, it has been downhill since then.

I don't have anything new to show you.  But I do have a few things from a week or two ago.

This is the Lighter Than Air Peasant Top found at My Gramma Said.  This is a great blog I found through Pinterest.  The designer made this shirt from up-cycled t-shirts.  I didn't have a men's t-shirt available, so I hiked off to Target, found the gray one on clearance and there you go.  The white one was from Joann's and cost a whopping $3.25.  You would think with all the men I have surrounding me an extra shirt would be easy to find.

It was a fun little project and the designer is right, these shirts are lighter than air, I'll wear them a lot this spring and summer.

White is hard to see on a white door I know, but I didn't have the energy to take it outside for a photo shoot.

I also found these little felted bags at Joann's when I was there the other day.  I wondered how needle felting would work on a felted item.  I learned a lot making this little bag for my friend Cathy.  You just need a tiny bit of felt to create the colors, much less that when making a three dimensional object.

Elementary I know, but I have to remind myself I am just learning and exploring.  When I look on Pinterest I am in awe of the creations people make out of fiber, such intricate sculptures, oh my!

I made a little bag (not pictured) for my sister Claudia, just for fun.  She can use it to put her knitting needles or crochet hooks in, or not use it at all.  I always send her stuff I make, sort of like when I was in elementary school and I would bring home a project for her, maybe you never lose that quality even at the age of 48.

I have 5 more rows of my ripple blanket to make it to the finish line.  I have to force myself to do it.  What was I thinking choosing colors to match my room rather than colors I like to work with?  This blanket has been torture from the first stitch.  I will post a finished picture soon, as soon as I make myself sit down and finish it.

Hope your Saturday is great.

Sweet Meredith, Please take care of your self. Like you told me once..... rest, eat soup, rest, knit, eat more soup! I am sure your ripple will look lovely. I am currently having that same problem....I keep ripping out mine and I am only on the second square!

I am so sorry that you're feeling under the weather but it's totally understandable being a busy mother and all the other 'stuff' you do. I never know how you manage it....look at these projects you have just shown us! They're just lovely!
I don't know about your mojo going...what I want to know is...you know when there's a big project to be done...and you go outside...spin around...and your knickers change colour and go outside your other clothes...that is before you fly off to save the world...well perhaps you lost said knickers and that is the problem!! Do you think?? You rest girl until the dog finds them and brings them in!
I've just read what I've written and I think it looks as if I've lost the plot. However, I'm too tired to delete them and I know what I meant even if you don't!
Seriously, give your body a rest...you need it
Big hugs
Joan

I'm so sorry you're feeling yucky. As you well know, I can sympathize with you very much.
I do like your shirts that you made though. They're beautiful and very summery. It gives me hope that winter will really end at some point! :-)
Your little bag is so cute and I know Claudia will be happy to get hers. You have so much talent Meredith.
Blessings,
Betsy

I LOVE your makes - the peasant top is great, just the kind of thing I'd like but I don't think I'm on friendly enough terms with my sewing machine to try it, it's a fantastic idea though. The bag is beautiful. Lovely!
Hope you're feeling better soon...

Oh Meredith, I am so sorry you are feeling crummy. And to top it off, a bit down in the dumps. Not a good combo! I hope it passes soon.
I love the t shirt project. So cute.
I can't wait to see your afghan too.
Pamper yourself, and feel better soon!
Hugs,
kris

Those lovely little shirts are adorable! I'm adding them to my must-do list.

Commiserating with you about the cold. Being sick is the pits. Hang in there, dear, this too shall pass. Sending hugs. :)

I'm sorry you have the blahs. Will an exciting new project with some lovely yarn help?

Your new tps are great - comfortable like a t-shirt but so much prettier.

Dearest Meredith, when we're at our lowest ebb, our health begins to suffer. Don't let that happen to you. Time for a little 'me' time I think so hopefully you can start saying 'no' to unreasonable demands on your time and energy and delegate the simpler tasks where you can. Get a 'Do Not Disturb' sign made for that beautiful crafty retreat that you've created for yourself and lock the door!
I love your upcycled blouses and the little bag is delightful. I felt the same way about my ripple blanket. Not one of my favourite projects!
Up and at 'em, girly. Tons of Celtic Hugs.xxxxxx

Good morning Meredith

I wish you well. The needle felted bag is adorable. I know for sure that I'm going to try out needle felting. I have some thick felt in stash and lovely coloured wool. Only lacking the needle.
I'm leaving for a class camp in about 20 minutes. Hopefully, I won't get sick as my hasband and many students are .... Have a nice week, relax and take care of yourself for once. Hugs Regula

I love those shirts! And the pretty flower on the felt bag is lovely. I don't think it's "elementary" at all. Did you see my post about the gifts I received from Tiffane (AnAussieFelter) -- wow oh wow! She makes such beautiful stuff. I definitely got the better end of the deal on that swap. :) Best wishes, Tammy
