Time has gotten away from me

I am having a week that has been very, very busy.  I am not getting the time I need to get things done.  Time is not my friend this week.  Busy with work, appointments and cleaning up, well that does not leave enough time for blogging I am afraid.  I did squeeze in time for my baby blanket.  My little great nephew has been here a little while so I have to get this done as soon as possible.  Want to take a peek?

I took this picture earlier this morning, I have already put one round of green for the border.  I am finishing it off with a round of blue this evening.  This was a quick project, and so far I like the way it is turning out.

Still not in love with Berroco Weekend for this blanket, but it is a great yarn to work with, maybe it is better suited for another project.

This has consumed my day.  No rest for the weary they say, don't they?  I had Mexican Petunias that completely took over this area.  I started with two small plants and within two years they had taken over 12 feet.  I had them taken out today and I was so happy to see this open space.  I went to Home Depot bought mulch, top soil, rocks and plants and went to work.

I added top soil and mixed it with what was left after the plants had been taken out.  I added rocks to the border, and lots of beautiful plants.  Next came the mulch and there we have it, done!

Now of course I look at the rest of the area and see the bushes, and now I think I am not liking them.  Change one thing and the rest has to go to.  Well not today anyway, I am tired.

Someone was outside waiting for the pool to go on this morning while I was having a photo shoot with the baby blanket, not a happy face I am afraid. He was irritated with me because I had the camera out.

Really the look on my Max's face is pretty funny.  No smiles for Mom as long as the camera is in my hand.

Tomorrow I fly to Columbus for a short visit to move Mr. 19 year old out of his dorm and into his room for the summer.  I can not believe that his first year of college is over. He is moving into one of the swim houses for the summer, then come August he will move into another house with five of his swimming friends.  I am not looking forward to packing him up and moving him out.  We only have a day as we fly back Tuesday.  I can only imagine the state of his room, Lord give me strength.  He will be home for a week and a half before returning to train and take a class.

And I will be alone again!!!! Hooray for me.  Seems like you all enjoy your alone time just as much as me.  I loved reading all of your comments on the subject.

I just wanted to tell you that as I sat in my swing this morning working on the baby blanket, I was thinking of all of you and sending you my love.  You are all so special to me.  I know some of you are going through very difficult times, and I am sending you a prayer for whatever you think you need.

Hope you all have a great few days.  See you when I return.

Love the colors you chose for that blanket, Meredith! You sure have been busy, and the planting looks great (although I do miss your blog posts!). Max may be grumpy, but he's still photogenic! Roxie and Caesar won't stand still for photos, and I'd really like to have more of them. Good luck helping your son with the move (don't envy you one bit there), and safe travels to and from the college!

Oh the baby blanket is so pretty. I love the colors you used, and the join as you go method is something I am gonna try in the future.

Awww sweet Max, he's so adorable, even when he gives you "the look".

Sending you off with prayers and blessings that the move will be easy and that when all the "dust" settles you will some alone time to enjoy...oh, maybe we need to get another CAL going? Just kidding.

Hugs and blessings always dear friend.

I love the work you did in your garden. It looks so fresh! We also did a little gardening. But I will try to write a post about it. Kind of sad.
All my animals love (loved) the camera. Max looks like...Here we go again. So funny! Poor Max. lol.
It sounds like you will be busy again. Moving son #1 just to move him again in the fall. Oh fun!
Have a great week. Hugs, Teresa

Your baby blanket turned out so nice. I like the way you did the pattern and may try that myself soon. I'm so glad to have discovered the join as you go method. It makes things so much easier.
Max certainly doesn't look happy with you but he's still handsome.
Enjoy your time with your son and your time alone.
Blessings,
Betsy

Your blanket is turning out really well, just love it. I haven't managed to do much at all in my garden so far it's still too cold! Good luck with your son, my youngest and the last to go went to Hong Kong in January to teach English, I miss him like mad but I must admit it is nice to have the house to myself :)

Just remember to breath, it's very important, [I'm teasing].

Great new garden, but you know that it is like a domino, once you do one, you need to do them all.

Poor Max..he looks so unhappy

Just close your eyes and move that boy. I dont even want to recall moving zach out of his dorm room that day...or out of his apt 2 years later....
Just don't look.

Such a cute blanket! And full of nice holes for little fingers to grab. :)

Dear, dear, Max looks most disgruntled. Doesn't he know how photogenic he is? And how much we all enjoy seeing him? (Perhaps he's a very private dog.)

Enjoy your trip - as much as possible - AND the extra alone time! :)

I swear Max is almost human - what a funny old thing he is!You're such a wonder, Meredith, fitting all those things into your schedule which always seems to be incredibly busy. I remember those 'moving' times really well and used to dread them and look forward to them at the same time because it meant lots of loading and unloading but also time spent with the boy. Good luck with it all and I also LOVE the blanket. The baby will too. x

I hope you're having a great trip Meredith! The blanket is looking lovely and Max is so funny - gotta love that 'I'm mad at you' face :) Have a great day! x

Max looks like a grumpy old man but is clearly a total darling, bless his paws.

I know that feeling ... you make one change and a whole bunch of other things that need changing suddenly appear from nowhere!

Good luck with the moving x

The blanket is adorable and I love the new flowers you put in. Very pretty and scenic! Is that a screened in area around your pool? Does that help keep bugs away?

Seems like we had a bit of a blogging gap at the same time.....only you have so much going on in your "normal" routine, compared to me in this season of my life there is no comparison :-) It is impossible it is already time to move Mr. 19 year old out of his dorm for the summer!!! And look at you whirling around with all of your chores, gardening, crocheting, physical therapy work and loving the men in your life and dear Max. Whew! Bravo, Meredith!!!
