A Weekend Away

Hello all of my lovely friends.  I have been gone for a few days and I have missed you all so much.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and for those of you in the states, I hope you celebrated the 4th of July in style. We flew off to Kansas City for our friend's daughter's wedding.  It was such a fun weekend.  We had a lovely time, the city is gorgeous.  Do I have pictures of the amazing Train Station, the World War I Memorial, the bride and groom....well no.  I have pictures of this little guy.

This is Champ, he is our friends new golden retriever puppy.  I was on puppy duty for the four days we were visiting, and believe me I did not mind a bit.

He reminds me so much of my Max when he was a baby.  He chews on everything, including me.  He has to go to the bathroom 150 times in an hour, especially when it is raining out. He is soft and so furry and he smells like puppy.  Do you remember the amazing smell they have?

This little guy just stole my heart.   We played and played, so he would be tired when we had to attend wedding functions.  We went for about 1,001 walks with his little legs moving so fast.  He ran and sniffed, and is learning to go to the front door when he has to go potty.  We worked on walking on the leash and not chewing on people, tables, chairs and the carpet.

When he runs away from you, my little buddy dives under this chair and hides.  Usually his hind legs are poking out, it is so funny.  But in the few short days we were there I could see him having more trouble getting under the chair quickly, he is growing so fast.  I bet by the end of the week he won't be able to fit here in his hiding place anymore.

So there are no pictures of beautiful Kansas City for you to see.  If you get the chance to visit, I highly recommend it, visit the Train Station, the Memorial, and one of the amazing fountains the city is known for. When I go back I am visiting this little one, who won't be little anymore.

By the way Max was not all that thrilled by the puppy smell all over his Mom.  He got over it pretty quickly, and boy does he ever look huge compared to this little one.

Hope you are having a great day.

How adorable. I remember the chewing phase, not much fun, but they grow out of it in the end! Lottie went through 2 phones and umpteen chair legs!

You were about 45 minutes north of where I lived for 15 years in Pleasant Hill, MO, Meredith! It has been so long since I have been there I know much has changed although the photos of the Plaza in KC that I have seen indicate I would still recognize it. Your new furry friend is so cute. I'm glad you enjoyed him even if it was a bit hard on Max. Our last puppy, Lady, chewed the corner off a wall!!!!!!
xx,
Gracie

We got to see the puppies on the 4th. They are 3 weeks old now. So cute. Tanner would not leave me alone when I got home. I think he tried to inhale my clothes! Wait until the little one gets here!
It sounds like you had a wonderful time!

How did you end up on puppy duty? You get all the hard assignments! He's adorable and thanks for all the reminders of how much work they are at that age!! its tempting...but too much for me!

So glad you got away and had fun.

Oh, he is so sweet! What a little bundle of love and energy.

Remembering the puppy phase of my doggies makes me tired and grateful they are all grown up, but I did love it when they were little!

It's always good to get away for a bit. What a handsome little one-loved all the photos too, I always wondered if I would like a lab-still too soon for us after Nikita-but I really enjoyed your post Kathy

He's soo cute and cuddly.
We saw a beautiful sheepdog puppy on holiday last week, I so would love to have a dog again but feel like I'd be betraying my beloved Oban.

That is one magnificent beast there.. he's got a gorgeous stance or "laying down" in that last photo! I could do with some puppy time, myself! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I think he is the cutest little thing I've seen. I want one.

Boy, have I missed alot. You sure have been busy... All these projects and posts. I guess since I've been in a crochet funk this summer, I haven't blogged much. I think I'm getting my mojo back though. You're giving me lots of entertainment tonight, (since I'm staying in)
