Things That Make Me Happy Today

Happy Friday!  I love Friday's so much.  I do not have to go to work and drive miles, and miles, and miles.  I usually still have to get up really early to wake my youngest up for school, but not today he had the day off.  So I got to sleep, not very late but still getting up at your own pace is a luxury.

A cup of tea, reading blogs and not having to be anywhere is a gift.  So I have been puttering and pottering about, and I decided I am in a pretty darn good mood.  As I looked around my house, my favorite place to be, I was so happy.  The weather has taken a turn for the better, it has cooled off, well at least for Florida it has.  Today the high will be 79 degrees, that is so much nicer than it has been.  And this morning when I took Max for a walk I had to wear a light sweatshirt, it was glorious.

Here is just a glimpse of things that are making me happy today.

Flowers on my kitchen table.

Surprise end of summer roses blooming in my garden.

A funny Halloween hat I made for one of my patients.  It was a request based on a crochet hat picture his Medical Foster Mother found.  I did my best to reproduce it, this is a character from the Disney show Doc McStuffin's.   Considering it will be on his head all of two seconds I think it is alright.  I am not so good without a pattern.

Halloween decorations all over my house.  I love this holiday.

Open doors and open windows to let the air in.  I am not a fan of air conditioning, but it is a must have in Florida.  I so love when I can have real air swirling around my house.

A new knitting project I am trying to design myself.  I know have I gone mad or what?

My sweet boy is happy with the cooler temps, too.  It is still hot after a walk with Mom, but the cool off time is a lot faster.

What is making you happy today?

How lovely to see the things that make happy. Your sunflowers are gorgeous. Your crochet hat is lovely, I might have a go at one like that for Flynn, for the winter.
I adore your whitch, she looks brilliant. Good luck with your knitting and as ever Max is looking his normal handsome self.
Have a lovely weekend
Take care

Hi Sweet Meredith, I love all the things that are making you happy today. A great start to your day is always the best. I had one of those today too. Then a little shopping for me, wine and chocolate shopping for some house guests…….so it will be a good weekend too. Your pool is so clean, sparkly, and refreshing looking from a Vermonter's point of view. Big hug to Max and you too, xoRobin

Today I was happy to get coffee and do the Costco run with my husband while both kids were in school! We ate pizza and frozen yogurt for lunch at the snack bar. And I'm making fajitas for dinner, one of my favorite things that I know how to cook. :) Your happy things are just lovely and I am so glad it's getting cooler there now. The hat is so cute! I am sure he will love it. Give that beautiful Max a big hug for me. :)

Hey Meredith! I just popped in to say something regarding your comment to Jen over at Muddy Boot Dreams on the whole "validation" thing. It was at the end of your comment where you said you knew you would never be a big blog with tons of followers in essence. It struck me just the other day that I have over 240 followers most of whom I never hear from and well with that many people following you know I can't visit them all regularly... so I began thinking what is the point of all of that "following" thing. I had well over 300 followers on FB the other day before I closed my account and I barely knew 20 of them! I realized quality over quantity wins anytime! So just wanted to say thanks for you comment over at Jen's because it made me think even deeper about this "approval" issue, which of course is soooooo, unhealthy and ultimately unrewarding!
Hugs my sweet blogging sister and enjoy the weekend!

Now for you post, lol! :D You have a lovely home and I agree, my home is my favorite place to be, it's my sanctuary and it doesn't get any better than that! I love that witch you have seated on the rocking horse... did you make her? I love Halloween as well, it just brings fond memories of being a kid back to the forefront:D 79 degrees, ha, that's a heat wave as far as I'm concerned (lol) it was in the low 40's today and it's expected to be in the mid 20's brrrr :D
Hugs again...

I'm happy that you are happy! We just got back from Dayle's birthday lunch and we're stuffed and happy too. All my sibs are gone and it's just the 2 of us and we're relaxing in our trailer and watching fuzzy awful tv and I'm blog-menting! Can I move into your guest room and swim in your pool? Buddy waves his paw to Max! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Fridays was always a favorite of mine too. It sure feels good to get to sleep in once in awhile. The day that has no real demands is always a plus too. Just doing what you want, when you want, is my idea of a great day. The cooler temps are so much nicer. Ours are now in the 40's and 30's. We have had 3 frosty mornings. The trees are changing fast and we are suppose to be getting windy days so the leaves will fall even faster...winter is coming, maybe now it is coming way too soon. I still want some warm comfortable days for outside work.
Have a good weekend.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)

I laughed at the photo of the rocking cow; why should horse's have all the fun?

As for what is making me happy today, one thing would be popping into a neighbourhood bazaar and picking up cabbage rolls and perogies. I get a kick out of hearing Polish spoken around me, even if I'm not Polish.

That moment when it actually cools down a bit, and you can breathe again is lovely.

Add into that a day off, and it's a pretty wonderful thing.

There is so much happiness in your post, it's contagious.

Ok, firstly I can't believe how hot it still is for you. 79° is something we consider almost a heatwave here in the UK! But it's nice to celebrate autumn and Halloween despite the heat and your home looks so welcoming and festive. x
