A Lovely Weekend

My weekend has just been perfect.  Do you ever have a few days where everything just feels right?  Besides the fact I had to take Mr. 20 year old to the airport on Friday at 9:00 AM after his very short 38 hour trip home, the holiday weekend has been lovely.  The weather, perfect. The decorating is almost done, perfect.  Going to bed early and sleeping in, perfect.  Oh and we have had my little buddy visiting.  Do you remember him?

He came for the entire weekend, to give his medical foster parents a bit of respite.  He loves it here, it is like going to the fun factory.  He had so much attention and playtime with everyone.

Even Max had a good time, well most of the time that is.  We took him home today and I have to say my house is awfully quiet.  All the toys have been put away, all the cars and trucks that my sons used to play with are back in the playroom closet upstairs, waiting patiently to be played with again.

He is getting bigger and doing so much more all the time, thanks to many, many therapists and the loving care of his medical foster parents.

I finished one more cup cozy for a knitting friend.  I think she is going to love it.  I am almost finished with the Ohio State scarves, and then I will be moving onto the crochet shawl I have to make for a friend.

I have lots of shopping to do, lots of wrapping and shipping, but I am on my way to being at least hopeful that I won't be a wreck come Christmas day.

Max had a great weekend too.  He saw his oldest brother who he really misses, he spent time with Aunts, and Grandparents and he had a little one who was dropping food off of his high chair, sounds perfect to me.

Hope your weekend was perfect.

Wow, are you organised or what! I am glad Little Guy was able to spend the weekend with you - he looks like such a sweetie. And Max survived!

I really like the buttons you've been using on your cup cosies too. :)

Sounds like you did have the perfect weekend. My little guy sure is growing, he is so sweet and I know you enjoy his visits just about as much as he does. I have had a pretty good weekend myself. We finally got our tree decorated and we did a little shopping but still have much more to do. Sounds like you got a real good jump on most of your Holiday shopping it makes me feel as if I need to get into high gear!
Hugs, Shari

Thank you so much Meredith for your comments and prayers for those involved in the crash.

I am so glad you had a lovely holiday, even if it was a short on with your son. What a little sweetie the baby is and that is a lovely pic with Max thro' the glass. Babies and dogs are a great combo esp if the wee one was dropping food morsels. You have obviously spoilt him rotten and that is why he is tuckered out in his little 'baby prison'. Oh to sleep like a baby, eh?

Love the mug cosy and seriously hope you made it sitting down and were not wandering around like Lady Macbeth with a crochet hook again!

So important and lovely that you can have the little fella and spoil him while his 'fosters' have a wee rest. You are wonderful Meredith!
Your new mug cosy looks fantastic - I'm still busy with mine and so enjoying them, thank you my friend!
Max looks happy to have the little fella around - he's good company for him too - for a wee while!
I'm happy to hear you had such a lovely weekend, and I hope your week gets better and better!
Warm hugs, Joy xo

Ohh, it's so nice to see your little buddy again. I also work with foster paper ts and families. I'm an adoption and foster care worker for the state and see the kids everyday but I don't get to have them when I come home. It's sucha hard job for the foster parents and I'm so glad you get to give them a break so they can recharge. That is wonderful my dear friend, but we all know already how wonderful you are. I'm glad you had such a wonderful weekend. :)

I love those times when everything works together and you stop for a minute to realise how great it all is and how thankful you are. Sounds like you had one of those!

It looks and sounds like you had a wonderful weekend and how good to give the Foster parents a little break. It must be wonderful for you to spend time with him and I am sure the house must have been so quiet after he left. I am sending you a hug. I love your new addition to your mug cosies, very lovely indeed. Hope you have a lovely week xoxo

It certainly does sound like you had a perfectly wonderful weekend. I'm glad your little Buddy didn't stress Max out too much. :) Seems you are on a roll with gifts. I've done not a thing. Glad you had a visit, albeit quick. My son was in Denver with a Kuwaiti friend who flew in to meet him there. They both went back to their respective universities yesterday. And Yusef will arrive here in 15 days. Yikes! Time is flying! Have a good week. Tammy

Glad you had a good weekend! My son was home from Uni for 5 days and I feel as though I barely saw him. Did you say your Christmas decorating is almost done? Wow, you're good! Sounds like your hook is flying too. What is the green yarn you used for the cozy? I like that color.

Hey my friend! Hmmm, for some reason I have not been getting updates on your posts. Blogger seems to not like ME at the moment, giving me a hard time with sizing photos, getting updates on posts from friends... sheesh!
Love the OSU scarves... I told you I went to OSU when I was working on my PhD didn't I? That was in that other life when I was married to Mr. Med Student who was also going to OSU for his MD.
Seems like lifetimes ago...
Sounds like you have the holidays under control... just keep taking deep breaths and telling yourself, "I can do this, I can do this..." once you get the mantra down it'll be Christmas and you will indeed have made it through! :D
Hugs my sweet blogging sister,
Beth
