A Shawl and a Giveaway at Kathy's

Happy Wednesday morning to all of you!  I am feeling quite chipper right now because I have crossed one more project off my Christmas list.  Another Elise Shawl, I know you are probably really sick of seeing these by now, but I am still enjoying making them.  I have one more on the hook and then maybe I will be finished.  Here take a look.

This one will be a present for my friend Terri.  I like to make her something special for Christmas every year.

Purple is her favorite color.   I made this Elise Shawl from Malabrigo Yarn, Rastita.  I purchased this yarn a while back from Eat. Sleep. Knit., my favorite online yarn source.

It is gorgeous yarn to work with.  Of course what Malabrigo yarn isn't?

I hope she likes it!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my knitting ornaments.  Many of you said you were going to make them, I sure hope you do and that you include them on your blog.  I'd love to see your version.

My friend Kathy of  Kathyinozarks is having a Christmas Basket Giveaway.  She contacted me a while back and asked if I would like to send her a cup cozy for her to include in the giveaway.  I gladly accepted, made one up and promptly shipped it.  She also had help from two other friends.  Included in the basket are fun items from Kathy including homemade soaps, scrubs and lavender sachets, a lovely hand knit scarf and some hand made jewelery.  Please pop over to Kathy's blog and leave a comment so you have a chance to win this fun Holiday treat.

Hope you are having a great day.

It's beautiful Meredith, I have a feeling that if I got started on making them I wouldn't be able to stop either, it's a lovely stitch. We don't wear shawls much over here which is a pity because I love them, your friend will love hers too Meredith she is very lucky. :)

I love this shawl and the color is beautiful and I'm not a big purple fan! :D I seem to have misplaced my knitting/crocheting mojo at the moment... everything I've started over the last few months I have ended up ripping out!!! My muse has moved me into a painting mode it seems... But I continue to love popping over here to see your latest FO!!! :D

I intended to start a shawl tonight, but I don't have the right size needle. Oh darn....I have to go to the yarn store tomorrow. LOL

Another pretty, pretty shawl. I never get tired of looking at them! The Malabrigo is just perfect for this pattern, showing off all those subtle color variations. I am almost finished a scarf in a green Malabrigo. I love this yarn!

Another beautiful shawl...a friend of mine made an Elise shawl and said how nice it is to make....you don't do things by halves do you! ;-)

I've discovered shawls this year, but haven't made anywhere near as many as you....I've really enjoyed wearing a couple of them too, which i wasn't sure that I would (goodness knows why i was making something I wasn't sure about!)

Hi Meredith. I never tire of seeing your beautiful shawls so you just keep on making them. I have bought the yarn to make this shawl but haven't been well enough. One of these days......! Meanwhile I'll just sit back and enjoy yours. Joan

Purple is my youngest daughter's favorite color. It was also my mil's favorite as well. Your friend will love it. I like that pattern too. It is fun and I know exactly why you are hooked on it. I made 3 and sent one to a friend. The other 2 I am debating about. I don't know now who to give them to and so bogged down with this last minute stuff that I am about to go crazy. No matter how I plan, no matter how hard I try, I am always swamped.

Love the color of that shawl! I NEVER get tired of seeing your makes! I'm going to check out the online store you linked to. I've never bought online. Always afraid to when I can't feel it! Why is it that every shawl I see, I want to make...and you and I have already shared our thoughts on shawls. My weather here in VA is either too hot for such things or way too cold! Unlike Goldilocks, I can't find the one that is "just right"! Hugs, A.
