How about a giveaway to start of 2014!

How about we start of the New Year with a giveaway?  I have only had one giveaway in my blogging life and I think it is high time I rectified that.  Are you ready to try something new in 2014?  I have several giveaways planned in the early months of 2014.  You see my local yarn store has gone out of business and I have bought many different items and lots of new yarn, some of the purchases with you in mind.  Why shouldn't we all benefit from my shopping expeditions.

My  big decision is what to pick first, hmmmm.......  How about some needle felting?

Have you wanted to try needle felting but did not want to go to the expense of purchasing the kit?  Well here is your chance.  I really love needle felting and have made several different types of projects like pins, earrings, a felted bird in a nest, embellishments on bags and knitting.  I am no expert that is for sure and can't seem to find the time to become one , but it is sure fun to play around with.  You can visit YouTube and watch many different videos to get yourself started.  I, however, can get you some of the supplies you need to get you on your way to a new crafting endeavor.

This giveaway includes the Needle Felting Starter Kit from Fiber Trends.  This is exactly like the one I use.  It comes with a large piece of dense foam and four different felting needles.  There are instructions in the bag, but like I said before I found watching videos to be the most helpful.

There are two bags of bits and bobs of fleece I have from here at my house.  Enough fleece to make a few things and get you started.

The easiest way to learn needle felting is to use little cookie cutters to help give you a form to follow.  So I have included some in the giveaway with more of a Spring theme.  Spring is coming even if it feels like you are living in the frozen tundra.  There are 10 pin backs in the package just in case you want to make some Spring themed pins.

I really enjoy needle felting, it has opened up a new way for me to embellish my knitting, and of course it is yet another way to play with fiber.

So here are the rules, there are no rules.  Just leave a comment on this post and I will pick a name on January 7th and that is that!  You do not need to be a follower (although I'd love it if you were), you do not need to jump through any hoops or post about this here and there.  Just leave me a comment and tell me you are in!  If you are an anonymous blogger, you will have to let me know how I can get a hold of you.  There are no restrictions on where you live, I will ship anywhere.

Hope you are ready to try experiment with something new.  If you already needle felt, you can join in too as you can never have to many supplies.  Here is to a fun and creative 2014!

I am in! Pretty please... I love needle felting but I have crashed my stash this Christmas making tree decorations for all my friends. The cutter method is the one I use. I have a post about it here http://joeveryday19.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/felting-decorations.html
but I agree, Youtube is pretty good too. Love Jo x

Happy New Year Meredith! Wish you and your family a year filled with peace and happiness (and tons of crafty projects)!
I think a giveaway is a nice way to start a new year. I've never tried felting and just like you said didn't want to spend money on buying a kit or going to a class, but I wouldn't miss a free chance, lol. So please count me in!

I'd love to have my name put in the hat too for this really generous giveaway. I have tried needle felting but only the safety one and not the 3d freeform so I'd love to win and give this a try if my name comes up.
