Friendship Matters

Here, these flowers are for you.  Each and every one of you deserve a beautiful bouquet of gorgeous, pink tulips.  You are all so lovely I can not even begin to tell you what your kind words, thoughts and prayers mean to me.

I cherish your friendship and I want you to know that.  In this busy life we lead, you take the time to let me know you care and that means more to me than you can imagine.  You kind words and wisdom get me through some of the more interesting times in my life.  And when I open up and write about things that are happening, many of you have had a similar experience and know just the right things to say to make me feel better. I am not sure what I would do without you.  I can only hope I am as nice and caring to you, as you are to me.  You make me laugh, you make me cry, you show interest even when I am boring you to death.  You do not think I am crazy when I talk to yarn, or show you picture, after picture, after picture of the things I create.  You are the best, have I told you that lately?

I think your friends are really the ones that help you get through life.  They are there for you every step of the way.  Husbands are lovely and all but they really don't understand us like a friend does.  Your kids are wonderful, well most of the time they are but your friends always have your back.  They make the highs and lows of life that much more bearable.  And they understand us when we are feeling bad, feeling a bit sorry for ourselves or feeling as high kite because something wonderful has happened.

When I got into blogging I did not expect this.  I did not expect to have this special connection with people all over the world.  I blogged to have a new outlet, a place to record my yarny adventures.  Blogging has become so much more to me than that, and that is because of all of you.  Blogging has become a place where I feel at home.  When I jump on my blog I feel like you are sitting right next to me at my kitchen table, having a cup of tea and a good chat. I never expected that I would grow to care about you all so much, but I do and I want you to know how very special to me you are.

So today I am sending you flowers.  I am sending each one of you love and positive thoughts.  I thank you for your friendship.  Believe me I do not take this special bond we have for granted, good friends are hard to find in real life and in blog land.  Have a Happy Sunday and thank you for being so special to me.

Thanks so much, Meredith. You are dear to me and many others. The leaves of my daffodils that were shooting up toward the sun underneath the tree outside my window are temporarily buried under snow and ice, so it is especially sweet to be able to share your pretty purple bouquet of tulip photos. Love pats to Max, Fluffy Baa Baa and the rest of your flock. xx

Yes, yes! Yes! I can echo your beautiful thoughts Meredith. Even though lots of us haven't met face to face, we still have that special bond between us. Much love to you my friend and I hope you're feeling a bit better.
Blessings,
Betsy

My dear Meredith, you put into words what many of us feel. The BEST part of blogging is making friends far away that you never would have met before. Living in a small rural place, I always wished for more friends.. and voila! Now I have more friends and even have met up with 3 NW bloggers for lunches and other fun things. Thanks for the flowers.. and back at ya, my friend.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)

What a beautiful post from a truly beautiful soul. You are so right in everything that you say. I had a blog previously and it helped me through so many difficult times(land of Emma). I had to start a fresh one because the other one just reminded me of such a painful time, but without my blogging friends I would have been lost. My entire friends and family were suffering too, so to be able to have an outlet was a God send.
Thank you for such a lovely post xxx

Thank you Meredith! I know what you mean, it's been a revelation to me as well, how convivial it's been to have a blog. I love to hear from you, and it always makes me happy when I see your name in my inbox. And your blog has a particularly warm, cosy feel to it. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for the flowers, they're lovely. I hope you have a good week. CJ xx

So beautifully expressed Meredith, and I for one feel just the same about you and all the people who read my words. I have only recently found your blog, but I have loved everything that I have read and seen, talking yarn and all - actually that was one of the best bits so far! I hope that we get to know each other better and remain friends as time goes on. I hope that you have a good week. xx

Aww, what an absolutely lovely post Meredith, and from a very lovely lady too.

I was give a lovely bunch of rainbow tulips this week too by a friend who came to dinner so when I look at them I shall imagine yours are here too.

I started my craft blogging for a similar reason to record my makes and it has become so much more than that as time has progressed. I love you blog and even trying some of your recommended makes.

I once heard a saying that friends are what God give us to make up for the families he inflicted on us. I don't think it is all true but friends are definitely the family we'd build if we were given a free hand to do so.

Take care and thanks for the flowers,
Love and hugs

Thank you Meredith!!
You are so sweet and too kind. Like you, I never thought that I would meet such wonderful people while blogging. I started out doing it so My Mom would know what was happening with my girls and myself. Stay in touch through photos and journal like writing instead of snail mail. It's amazing how blogger friends inspire you!!
YOU inspired me to get one of those big red flowers!! I loved yours and thank you for sharing it!! We have furlough days and we're taking a cruise to Mexico. Now, I'm so afraid that it will bloom while I'm gone and will dry out!! I was going to wait until if opens up - but will go ahead and post tonight before getting out of town before the ice storm moves in on Tues. night!!
You have such good taste in flowers!!
THANK YOU :-}}

Hello Meredith, one of your most beautifully written posts I have ever read. I feel so much the same, Blogging friends always seem to care, to listen, and share...we are all very fortunate to be part of this great village.

Those are lovely pink flowers, on this snowy day I am cherishing them.

I hope that you feel much better, soon.

Oh Mere, what a wonderful post to come back to after being away! We feel exactly the same about you, you know. So give yourself one of those gorgeous pink tulips and realize that you are sweeter and more beautiful than any flower.

I hope the shingles are better now ... and I really enjoyed your conversation with that gorgeous grey yarn. :)

Beautiful flowers and beautiful post. I have been constantly amazed at the online blogging community--the very real and wonderful friendships between people who have never met is just amazing.

Hope this means that you're feeling better and that the shingles are clearing up and will soon be a thing of the past!
