Love is in the air....or it will be tomorrow

I am not a big celebrator of Valentine's Day, shouldn't we love each other all the time?  But I do love hearts, and I love them year round.  I have printed out so many heart patterns this year.  I thank all of you creative individuals who have come up with these beauties.  Have I made one of them, nope, so this stone will have to suffice for now.

This boy warms my heart everyday.  His love is so pure.  Max's love is so true, not complex, simple and unconditional.  I suppose I could learn a thing or two from Max. Love freely with your whole heart wide open.

My love for this linen scarf is dwindling fast.  500 stitches cast on, 3 rows completed and I can not seem to get into the rhythm of linen stitch.  It may go into the garbage bin today, oops I went off track here, better get back to that loving feeling.

Ah, here we go, Max, my darling boy loves to hold hands.  He will sit for the longest time with his paw pressing down into my hand.  Love, pure and simple.

So I wish you a day filled with love, but I wish that for you everyday, not just on Valentine's Day.

Oh thank goodness I am not the only one. I love romance. I love romantic gestures. I love, love but it should be every day for all things. Max especially of course.
I think hearts are my favourite shape too.
So, my Doh and I will share a card and have a happy day. We miss that furry law and unconditional love. Our dearest dog lived until he was 161/2 and we still love him today and miss him every day.
Happy Valentines Meredith and most importantly I hope those horrible shingles have packed their bags.

Aww, how sweet Meredith. I totally agree with you. We should all show love through out the year and not just on Valentine's Day.

Steve and I don't do big on Valentine's Day either ---- well, usually. This year is a little different. We are going to the beach so I can photograph the full moon rising out of the ocean.

Happy Valentine's Day to you (and to MAX too!)

Max is such a sweetie who couldn't help but love him. I agree with you too Meredith of course love should be given all year round and so should hearts, that's why I always like to have a few already made because you never know when the occasion might rise to give one to someone who needs it. I don't celebrate Valentines Day and my boy friend thinks it's too commercialised and I tend to agree with him. I do like to give him a heart shaped chocolate lollipop though just for fun. :)xxx

Awww, Max is so beautiful! What would we do without our furry children? I know I'd be lost! All that love and so unconditionally... it doesn't get any better than that!

What a totally cool rock! Er ummm, not rocks to be seen up here in the north country - we're busy being blanketed in LOTS of the white stuff! I think this is the biggest storm so far this winter! It's been snowing since 11:00 this morning and it is supposed to go into tomorrow morning. I'll go out and get some photos once it lets up tomorrow.

Hope you are well and a big Happy Valentine's Day to you!
Hugs,
Beth P

Max melts my heart ~ EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! <3 <3 <3
I love it that he holds hands!
Where in the world did you get the heart-shaped rock?!! Too cool!
And I strongly agree our hearts should be full of love every single day.
I also want to thank you for your post on friendship. Perfect, perfect words....I feel the same. You said it all so eloquently.
Thank you, MY FRIEND,
XOXO,
Danette

I agree completely Mere. Love everyday, not just 1 day. Here's hoping you have a brighter weekend ahead, everyday filled with love and happiness. I do love your hearts too.

There really is nothing more centering than the love a dog.
I don't really go all out on Valentine's. Just a few little treats. I made some origami boxes out of cute paper and filled them with candies for my husband and kidlets. I also bought each one of them their favorite chocolate bar for after our pizza and a movie tomorrow night. Just a little extra. But, I sometimes do those things just for the fun of it on any old day. I also delight in random gift giving. I don't like being told when I have to give someone a gift.

You are right, we should celebrate love every day of the year. I have been broody for a dog for some time and those photos of Max just make me want a dog even more. x

Sweet Meredith. I just love YOUR heart. Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog this morning. Part of my heart is indeed spread around the world. Our Chloe likes to hold hands too. I think she and Max would get along admirably. I thought at first your stone heart was a cookie! Have a wonderful Valentine's Day my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

I agree entirely, love should not rely on only being expressed on a single day. Year round is the way to go.

Max is such a sweetie, you can see that even from his pics as he looks like such a big softie. I love the hand holding too! Magic will once in a blue moon place her paw on my hand but never to hold. Red on the other hand loves hand holding and if you are up for massaging his big fluffy feet - well so much the better!

Much love to you for a happy valentines day, and please plant a huge kiss on Max from me.

I do that with my dogs' paws too. They love a good paw rub. Seems a shame to scrap something you've put time into, but I know that feeling. Sometimes it just doesn't do it for me. Or maybe tomorrow it will feel different?

Your Max is such a sweetheart - look at that face! I love to find heart shaped rocks, it feels similar to finding a four leaf clover.
Lovely yarn too, but when it's not working for you, then I say move on. There are so many other things waiting to be made!

Awwww, I love that Max loves to hold your hand!!!
We are not big into Valentine's Day either.
Thinking of you!!

I am in a Valentine's Day slump this year...have not prepared even one Valentine for anyone...selfish on my part, but I do love others everyday, in thought and sometime in deed as well :) I have hearts displayed around my room, some I made and some others made for me, including the wonderful heart-felted pin you made for me. Max is a good example, and inspires me as do you, Meredith. Love to you now and always from me xx

Happy Valentine's Day Meredith <3 I love hearts too so I'm having a great time blog hopping today seeing so many, but you are right, love should be shown every day of the year. Max is adorable xx

Happy V-Day dear friend! :)

Max is so sweet.

Oh if you don't want that yarn, you can just slip it in a bag and send it my way...I adore that yarn and would gladly take it...you know, to keep your garbage bin empty and all. :) But I think if you hang in there, you will be so happy with the results. Knitting any scarf the long way sucks...it takes like forever and a day, but they are always so lovely when finished...hang in there. :)

The old saying is that dogs are a man's best friend. I think it needs to be changed, because I think they really are a woman's best friend. I was just thinking this yesterday when I was out walking my Westie Fergus. He never gets mad at me, he never holds a grudge, he is always happy to see me.

If you aren't feeling the love on that project after just three rows I say send it to the frog pile. :-)

Have a great Valentine's Day!

Ha! It's a rock. I thought you were baking. :) I love Max! He is such a handsome, sweet boy. I say if you don't love something, then don't do it. What's the use if it isn't bringing you joy. But then on the other hand, there's that saying about not giving up. A conundrum I would say. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww--Max is such a sweetie!

I'm thinking that yarn is so beautiful that it needs a new pattern--one that you'll just LOVE making. Who needs unfun knitting?

Personally, I'm not a huge Valentine's day person either, though I've gotten better at it over the years. Making each other gifts really helped. And we usually celebrate with friends instead of just by ourselves. I love my husband, but he's in a really busy time at work, it's gray and rainy here, and my day so far has involved the grocery store and cleaning a bathroom and the litterboxes. Just not feeling the romance in any of that............:)

Your stone heart is lovely because it is beautiful and natural, not because you have a heart of stone! Max really is a cutie isn't he. I think that you are right, we could learn so much from our pets, they are always pleased to see us, love us unconditionally, not matter when we get in, what we have done - or not! - and whatever mood we are in. They just love us. If only we could do the same with everyone around us, imagine what a wonderful place the world would be. So, I hope that you and Max have had a lovely day and that you might perhaps not fall out of love with your knitting, and if you do, that you might just frog it instead of bin it so that it can become something else - says she who has just started a massive project and is unsure about it already!! Happy Valentines Day - even though you are not celebrating! xx

My valentine is many miles away....while we battle the storms, my lovely hubby is languishing the heat of S.Africa...we dont do much to celebrate, but I would normally enjoy preparing a special meal...but it can wait until he's back. Someone in the nearby town (nobody knows who) had tied red heart shaped balloons they really cheered me yesterday when I drove through, bobbing on their strings in the rain.

Happy Valentines Meredith!

The heart shaped stone is a lovely find, I am very fond of the heart shape too and I agree that love should be in our lives every day. The unconditional love of Max is so pure too. Thanks for visiting my blog Meredith, your visits are always much appreciated xx

Hello lovely Meredith. I must say when I crocheted with linen I felt much the same. Hope you find your grove. Happy valentines sweetie and we don't usually celebrate but I figured we would have a little fun with the kids this year. I forgot to mention in a previous comment that a great treatment for shingles is L-lysine which is a natural remedy and can be taken when you're feeling a little run down to prevent it. Hope you're feeling better now. Enjoy your weekend xxx

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words :)

I really do agree with you about V-day. It should be all year round and not just magnified one day a year. I must confess, I thought the heart stone was a biscuit at first lol go on, look at it again. Im sure you will see it too ;) Your little pup reminds me of Shadow from the movie Homeward bound...I may have told you that already. Either way he seems very sweet.

Have a good weekend.

I too am not a believer of Valentine's day. Just one day is not enough to express your love. What a handsome boy Max is!

Ah the beautiful Max, what's not to love about him; yes, our furry friends' love is given with absolutely no expectations and what a wonderful world this would be if we humans could be as they are but, unfortunately, our minds and emotions get in the way a lot of the time. I would love to have Max for my Valentine - every day of the week.
Dear Meredith - to knit anything with 500 stitches would bowl me over before I even started - you are so courageous!
Warm hugs and love coming your way,
Joy xo

A belated Happy Valentine's Day to you and to dear sweet Max. Playing catch up right now --- We've been gone for the past week. The only difficult part of the trip was having to have Augie at the kennel!! He won't let either of us out of his sight right now. Augie is like Max - right now he needs to lean up against us to make sure we don't leave him again.
