Tea Towel from Robin and WIP's

The beautiful, lovely and oh so kind Robin from My Nest of Yarn and Buttons had a wonderfully creative giveaway on her blog.  We were to interpret what her sweet little granddaughter, who is learning to write, wrote about on a lovely picture.  I believe I got three out of the four words as many people did, so Robin decided to give the lot of us each a lovely hand towel.  Look at mine, it is perfect for Florida.

Here it is opened up, I love the bright colors.  Thank you Robin for treating all of us so wonderfully.  You are a dear, sweet, friend.  Robin lives in Vermont, she has been under heaps of snow all Winter, but now is seeing signs of Spring.  Go and pay her a visit and meet her beautiful Jack, I want to scratch his nose and give his beautiful face a big kiss.  Robin is also the proud Grandmother to the two most adorable girls.  Check her out, you too will become fast friends.

As far as WIP's this Berroco sweater has not even gained a row since I last featured it.  I keep thinking if I post pictures of it then I will feel guilty enough to get working on it. We will see how that works.

The second Berroco sweater is almost up to the neckline in the back.  This is an easy peasy knit.  Funny though, I swear I thought this yarn was gray in the store.  I also swear I thought it was gray in my house.  But after seeing it outside it is actually greenish.

There must be something more wrong with my eyes than just needing readers for every single thing now.  I even need them to knit, even when I am not looking at my knitting!

This lovely plant was dropped off in my garage last weekend by a lovely friend in remembrance of my Mother and MIL.  Isn't it lovely and so thoughtful?

How is your week going?

I like your tea towel. Yes, perfect for Florida. :-)

My week is going well. We have had great weather and I am looking forward to doing more garden work. :-)
And hope to go on a canoe trip with my hubby this weekend. A day trip. The boys will be visiting grandma and grandpa. :-)

Well done to you winning the tea towel I can imagine you'll be smiling every time you use it as it is just so jolly. Your peace lily is delightful too and a lovely kindness.

Lol-ing at your glasses needed even when not looking. I'm needing mine more and more now but am getting forgetful and getting up to walk with them and realising the world looks odd as I've forgotten to take them off!

Your knitting looks fab but I wonder why you are sooooo slow to complete them....hmmmm, I wonder if a Little Buddy might know the answer....?
Take good care of yourself Meredith,
Love and hugs

Dear Meredith,

Your remembrance plant is a lovely reminder of wonderful mothers and a good friend.

The towel Robin sent you is pretty! I will go visit her blog.

Although I have come to expect speedy knitting from you, I have to smile, because what seems like little progress to you is AMAZING progress to me!!! [On my computer screen the yarn you thought was gray looks gray to me :) ]

I am recovering along with all but two other members of my household from a horrible flu. [The baby and my youngest daughter thankfully don't have it!] At her worst 4 yr. old Molly asked her parents if she was dying. The question crossed my mind as well.

But I am well enough today that I am going to try out Teresa's washcloth pattern. I think I can...I think I can :) xx

What wonderful gifts Meredith! The tea towel is indeed just right for you in Florida isn't it, what could be more perfect.

How lovely two of your friend to bring you such a beautiful plant with such a beautiful thought behind it. A truly lovely person indeed.

Oh and re the glasses, you might find that you also need them to talk on the phone and to think, that is if you end up like me!! xx

Your tea towel is lovely Meredith - isn't Robin such a sweetie! Mine hasn't arrived yet - it has a long way to travel - but I'm so looking forward to receiving it!
Don't beat yourself up about your eyesight my lovely friend, that type of green is very difficult to pick except in bright lighting; it's knitting up very nicely and I hope you are liking the colour? Your berocca top will grow when the time is right - life sure gets in the way at times doesn't it!
The plant is such a thoughtful kind gift - enjoy it! I hope you are coming along okay after all your recent, and ongoing, turmoil - take good care of yourself and I hope the migraines are keeping away? Warmest of hugs, Joy xo

Amazing gifts, from such thoughtful friends. My glasses are now a permanent feature perched on the end of my nose, my husband has to remind me to take them off when I go to bed. Have a wonderful weekend.

Beautiful gifts for a beautiful lady. The tea towel looks perfect for a home in Florida and the plant is wonderful! It looks huge. It make make a lasting reminder of your Mom's. Your sweaters both look as if they are doing very well and are just waiting for you to find the time to play with them again. My eyes must be bad too because the gray looks gray to me too.
Blessings,

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog Meredith. How nice to receive such a bright and cheerful tea towell, it is just perfect. My crochet is progressing slowly, have re-started it four times so far and now i think I have it correct and can steam ahead. It is a small hook so it doesn't grow that fast, but I suspect it is quicker to grow than knitting would be.
The plant is lovely and a very kind and thoughtful gift for you
Take care
Linda xx

Hugs to you Meredith. That's a lovely tea towel and that plant is gorgeous. Aren't friends wonderful? I love your knitting and sometimes, I truly want to learn to knit, but then my silly hands act up and I can't even crochet, so knitting will stay on the wish list.

Hugs,

The tea towel is very cheerful! And the plant your friend left for you is very pretty. That's funny about your sweater colour. It is sort of like when my husband and I picked out some new plates at IKEA. We loved the shade of blue. Right up until the minute we got home and realized that they were actually grey! The store lighting had played a trick on us.

What an adorable tea towel. It reminds me of the old orange shipping crate logos.

The peace lily is beautiful. What a wonderful remembrance of your mom and MIL.

That is a gorgeous tea towel -- and very Florida!

I can't believe how fast you are knitting that sweater! It is just darling.

What a fab giveaway, aren't bloggers the best?

I am simply in awe of your knitting skills, I used to do a lot of knitting in my teens and early 20s, but once I got married went back to crochet as it is quicker and easier to put down when duty calls!

The plant is such a lovely gift, I saw these growing outdoors when we visited Spain - but they are usually indoor plants here in the UK.

I think you guys in the States have a long weekend - have a good one!

That is one of the nicest tea towels I've ever seen! (If there was enough fabric, I'd make it into a skirt!)

Oh such lovely gifts Meredith. The colour of your yarn is very nice; it's such a subtle difference in colour that I wouldn't have discerned it's true colouring until I had observed it in bright sunlight.

So sweet of Robin to treat everyone to a tea towel. That one is certainly perfect for Florida. :) All of my work at school is on the computer and the lighting is awful so I have to use my readers all the time which means when I get home, I have to continue to weather them for crochet and cross-stitch. When I take out my contacts, I've gotten to where I don't wear my regular classes to see my iPhone. I just hold it close to my face, and then I put my regular glasses on when I blog. I think my eyes are very confused. That is an awesome plant -- and so much nicer than flowers that will just wilt away. Your sweater is coming along nicely -- yes, some grays definitely could have a touch of green. Will still be lovely. Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy

PS If there's any mistakes in my text, it's because of the eye confusion thing, okay ??? :)
