Can you stand two more......and poor Little Buddy

I am done with my Christmas crochet/knitting creating.  I may not be done with all creating but creating of the crochet or knitted kind is finished.  I made the last cowl for Little Buddy's babysitter.  She watches him every Monday and Wednesday while I am at work.  I love her and so does he.  She loves purple so I decided she needed a cowl too.

Yes another Malabrigo Rios Cowl.  I usually make her a shawl, but she is getting a cowl this year instead.  She likes to walk in the park and believe it or not it has been chilly here recently.  I thought this might keep her neck warm on chilly mornings.

I love the variations in color in Malabrigo yarn, and it is just so soft to work with.

Then I decided to use the Cascade Yarn Eco Duo yarn I bought in Ohio to make myself a cowl, too.  Now I just about love this yarn more than any yarn I have ever worked with, and I love this exact color.  I now have this cowl, a large basket weave cowl, and a Queen Anne's Lace Scarf all made from this exact same yarn in the exact same color.   Knowing myself, next time I see it in a store I will probably buy some more.  I just can't seem to help myself.

It is so pretty and soft who can resist?

Now for Little Buddy.  Apparently he took a big fall on the playground today near the sandbox.  His poor little face hit the fence and I think the fence won.  He was very sad when he got home from school, I can't blame him, I bet that it was pretty scary.  I know his teachers took great care of him and I told them that little, active boys are going to fall, no matter how hard we try to watch them.  It is all part of growing up and exploring.  I have a feeling this sweet face is going to look worse before it looks better.

Hope you are not feeling as beat up as this little one is looking.

Oh poor little man, that must have hurt so much. But you are so right, boys do tend to collect bumps and bruises. I do hope he's feeling better soon. The cowls are beautifully made, and the yarn looks delightful. A real treat for your giftees. CJ xx

Poor Little Buddy! Childhood scrapes and bruises are inevitable, but it's still hard to see them when they happen.

Well done you for finishing all your Christmas knitting and crochet. You made it with two weeks to spare. :-)

Poor little man! Nasty fences have a habit of winning!!! Love your new cowl and all your Eco Duo projects, it is such a nice soft yarn and works up really well. Great news you have finished all your lovely gifts, try not to be tempted by more ideas or yarn! I hope your hands are still ok.

Ouch! He does look sad. But kids bounce right back don't they, and bruises that look really sore to us barely seem to bother them after the first day or so.

Those cowls are both gorgeous Merediith :)

Oh, poor schmoopsie! Sad to see his bruised up little mug. But he will heal up fast. Your two cowls turned out faboo! I'm getting lots of compliments on my Meredith shawl! I started on a beret using the same yarn today while volunteering at the falls.

Such a sad little face. So sorry he took a tumble! I hope he feels better soon. Years from now you'll look back at your Christmas photos and remember the story of LB and the Fence.

Oh my word, that amethyst-coloured Malabrigo is to die for! And I can see why you love the Eco Duo. I look at that yarn every time I go to the big yarn store in Madison ... yours is such an elegant colourway. I think you need a shawl or a sweater in it too. :)

So sad to see his little face... I hope he is not hurting too much. The positive side is that little boys forget about it quickly and soon he will be in the playground and playing again.
I love the cowls and I'm so happy you made one for yourself. I'm sure little buddy's baby sitter will just love hers.

WOW!Poor little guy. I bet he will turn some lovely colors before he is done. What a shock that must have been for him and you.
I love the cowls I bet they are so nice and warm. Thet is one place that is hard to keep warm. Especially when the wind blows.

So sorry that Little Buddy fought with the fence today :( but then again, I like you am glad he is able to be active and explore the world around him!
Your latest cowls are so very pretty, Meredith. I really like Malabrigo yarn, too. I loaned out the hooded cowl I made with Malabrigo and before she returned it she washed it in the washing machine, I told her she could...what was I thinking!!! Now I am thinking of turning it into a bag! xx

Yes, of course we can stand two more!! Lovely gifts again!!

Poor Buddy, he looks so very sad and rather worn out from it! It does show that he is off having lots of adventures though and bumps and scrapes are all part of growing up aren't they. I guess that this was a big accident for him though so I am sure that it came as quite a shock to him. I hope that he is feeling much better today, I am sure that Mom and Dad cuddles will have helped a lot! Give him a hug from me too! xx

Poor wee Buddy, he looks so sad. Little active boys and girls are accident prone. I hope he feels a little better today. We had two accidents this week, both falls onto the corner of our coffee table, both ending with a head wound behind the right ear. The little ones have been silly unfortunately, they are not allowed to skate over the coffee table but can't resist... I can only take one boy to the hairdresser today, otherwise I'll have too much explaining to do.... Love your cowls! Have a lovely accident free weekend! Cx

Oh my gosh....so close to his eye. I'm sure that was scary for YOU too.

But, you are right. Kids take tumbles and fortunately, they seem to bounce back pretty quickly.

Hugs to your sweet one (and you too). I'll bet a candy cane would sure put a smile on that sad face. :::wink:::

Oh dear! Megan has a bruise on her chin and knee this week too. The bruise under her chin changes colour daily but it won't stop her running around on the playground will it? I am all done making presents now too. Love Jo x

I need to try that cowl once the holidays are over; yours are sure pretty. Hope LB is feeling much better by now. MY little GD got her foot caught in the seatbelt while getting out of the car and banged her forehead on Monday; not a good way to start the week.
