Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.......

Here I am, stuck in the middle of the week.  Here I am, stuck in the middle of new evaluations and paperwork.  And here I am stuck in the middle of you........

The Crazy Granny Square blanket is almost at the exact halfway point.  After I finish this last green circle I will be halfway done with the blanket, well with the exception of the border that is.

Halfway through this blanket means I have used 1300 yards of yarn already.  Crochet is a huge yarn suck isn't it?  I still like this project, it is so fast to make.  Well fast if you consider I have been working on it since January 1.

And here I am, stuck in the middle of the Lady Kina.  I have at least 250 yards more to knit on this baby and then I will be out of yarn.  There are lots of ends to sew in on this sweater as this Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo yarn comes in 104 yard balls, so I seem to be finishing them up at a rapid rate. Gosh this picture is horrible, the color is more gold, this photo is so washed out.

So I am feeling a bit stuck, stuck with work, stuck with projects and frankly stuck on that darn song by The Jeff Healy Band, not even a band I like listening to.

Lucky for me there are friends that come to the rescue.  In the mail yesterday I received two surprises.  This beautiful star was made by my dear friend Taci.  Isn't it beautiful?

Although I think this beautiful star is meant for my Christmas tree I am going to hang it in my craft room/studio.  Taci is the best, and so, so sweet and caring.  I am going to invite you to stop by her blog and see her latest project.  Taci is from Brazil and when she visits her native land she takes loads and loads of things for children in need.  This year she is planning on taking 200 hats for babies and toddlers.  Please pop in and see if you can help her in her quest to help those babies stay warm and healthy.  Taci provides a link for a knit and a crochet pattern for a simple hat, but you can make whatever pattern you want and send it right to her.  I plan on knitting a few to send, won't you?

Another surprise was from Becky who so graciously sent me this beautiful calendar.  Becky is a beautiful photographer and writes a very wonderful blog.  She joined the annual ladies lunch with Teresa, Gracie, Betsy and Taci, you know the lunch we all want to join in, too.

Hope you are not feeling all that stuck right now.  Have a great week.

You've gotten such lovely gifts again. It's because everyone loves you and your kind heart. Your blanket and sweater are really coming along. I can't believe you've only been working on the blanket since Jan 1, wow!

Wow! Lovely gifts for FABULOUS you! I made a garland out of the same star/snowflake pattern Taci sent you it's hanging in my kitchen window.

Have a wonderful day, Meredith!

Wow you are steaming ahead with that blanket. It is always good to have a pick up project especially if it is portable. I am starting a man knit tonight shhh it's secret! but I will be at Knit and natter so he won't see. Jo x

Your blanket is looking so pretty and so is the sweater. You do such beautiful work Meredith. I love Taci's snowflake and Becky's gift too. My goodness you are a loved lady, my dear. We so wish you were able to come to the bloggers lunches too. Now that Mandy isn't in Portland anymore, my visits with the girls won't be nearly as often. Maybe in the spring when the roads are clear I can make the drive down to see them all again. 380 miles each way in the wintertime is too much for me. :-)
Have a lovely day my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

Sorry you have that stuck feeling, I do hope it passes soon. I'm feeling a bit on the point of imploding today, I'm sat here reading blogs to calm down (school troubles). It's been so nice to come here and see your lovely blanket and cardigan. I'm thinking about a crochet blanket, but the amount of yarn required is a bit scary. It does mean it will be deliciously warm though doesn't it. CJ xx

Nice blanket! I love that blue! That sweater is adorable! I love the gathered look along the top! I'm still stuck in the middle of that never-ending afghan. And, I haven't had a chance to work on it at all this week! I can't believe it's Wednesday already! The days and weeks and months seem to fly by so fast!

Love that blanket to bits and also your very pretty little cardi. Keep going, it's nearly the end of the week now - you can do it. I thought you would like the pics of the sheep over at mine. Thanks for popping-in, Meredith. Wish you could come and see them in person! xxx

Holy doodle! I can't believe how much progress you have made on your blanket . I know crochet is a lot faster but.....it sure
Does use up a lot of yardage of yarn. I'm Stuck thinking about doing blog posts, I have lots of projects done but I'm getting a bit like a one trick pony!! Maybe it's the weather! Such lovely gifts in the mail. I think your craft room is a perfect place for your pretty star.

That sweater is going to be fantabulous (did you know that is a real word? Spellchecker says so!) and I really hope you model it for us. I'm glad you got surprises from Taci and Becky! I'm going to make at least one hat for Taci to take to the little hatless babies of Brazil. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Your blanket is really coming along. I love it and you're just in the stretch for the sweater too. Thanks for introducing me to Taci, I'm actually working on the basic baby hat for a co-worker. I'll just make note to do a few more.

Wow Meredith you are going to town on that blanket! It looks great so far. Hope the little guy is feeling better by now, and sorry the Packers lost. It was quite a game though.
Pretty sweater too - I like the style.

Dang, you're quick! It would take me years to make that blanket. Do you crochet while driving or something? ;)

Thank you for the link to Taci's. A very good cause and I hope to be able to join in. (Though we can't do lunch we should at least do hats!)

Not feeling stuck at all, except for the song that is now going round and round in my head. Thanks a LOT, Mere!

You are so luck to have wonderful friends to think of you! I love your cardigan, I hope you have a Ravelry page for the pattern! Crochet does eat up yarn, more so than knitting I think. I am a third into a blanket and I am hating it. Boring ripples with colours I am not too keen on. I am making it to order for my daughter who can't wait to see it finished. xx

Lots of great gifts - means you deserve them! : )
I really like that blanket, and about the sweater, I'm oh so envious of those who are able to use circular needles, I still haven't managed to figure them out!

Beautiful creations! I love the sweater...I just started a top down sweater with lace weight yarn...I think I'll be in the middle of that for a very, very long time.

How nice to get such great surprises! I really like the blanket you are crocheting. Not the song so much though. Now it's going to be stuck in my head all day. :-)

Now, I'll be hearing that song all day, too! ;) I think you ARE in the middle, but it doesn't look like you are stuck to me, Meredith! You are making great progress. AND, you have nice "prizes" to make the "middle" not so bad. ;) blessings and hugs ~ tanna

Love all your makes, especially the crocheted blanket. I am still working on mine as it is to cover a double bed. Working on mine is an overstatement, lol since I haven't picked it up for over a year. Soon. xx

Thank you so much my dear friend for such a lovely and personable post. You are such a great person and so thoughtful and makes me happy when I think about you. My little, humble star is just a symbol to represent the start you are for all of us, constantly shining with your love and caring heart.
Thanks for having so many details about my project to Brazil and for caring so much. Lots of hugs.

Glad you're sticking with your Lady Kina as it looks terrific. Hope you have enough yarn to finish. Have you found a great button for it?

I am glad you like the calendar and it it made it just fine. love your blanket...so pretty. I was stuck the other day. I was winding my yarn from skein into ball and somehow got it twisted when I laid it down to go into other room for something. I thought I'd never get it undone but I did it, finally. So I don't feel stuck any more, but it was mid week when I did it so it goes with your theme!!! Now I just need to knit the slippers!!! Hugs and thanks for your gift and inspiration of knitting!!! Happy weekend!!!
