Jordan....I love you

This past week has left me with a little cold and two back to back migraines that have left me wiped out.  I have had trouble reading, and frankly making a coherent sentence.  I have not read blogs, it hurt my eyes and my mind to look at the computer screen.  When I was not working, napping or taking care of Little Buddy you could find me slouched on the sofa creating this beauty.
The Jordan - sleeveless pineapple top by Vicky Chan.

Made with Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima, 100% pima cotton yarn and a size G hook.  This yarn has been in my stash for at least five years, if not more.  It took most of the yarn I had on hand to make this, approximately 800 yards.  I did do an extra 7 rows, to make another pineapple repeat I was worried it would be too short, I am very tall.  Now after blocking it I am not sure I needed the extra length, but better a bit to long than to short.

This pattern was brilliantly written.  I am now a huge crochet chart lover.  It seems so much easier to see the whole big picture of the pattern with a chart then the endless words, letters, and such of a written pattern.  I find it much easier to read a crochet chart than a chart for knitting.  There are a few wee errors here and there in this top, one pineapple has two row of three loops instead of a row with four.  There are a few 2 dc, followed by 2 chains and 2 dc's that only had 1 dc on a side.  But I am not sure you could pick that out even looking for them.  I did not do a sc border around the neck or arm holes as per the pattern instructions, I did not want to pull this tighter in any way and I think it looks just fine the way it is.

And guess what, it fits!!!  A rare thing for me with my creations.   Well, it is a bit snug around the chest, which is hysterical to me as I am extremely small chested.  I tried to block it a bit wider and may have to do it again.  Yarn has some give to it which makes it able to move with you not cut off your blood supply, so I will still be fine with it if it stays as it is.

Caroline the Dress Form was feeling quite fabulous in this new outfit until I accidentally knocked her into the bushes.  I apologized profusely after dusting her off.  The life of a model is never easy!

This is going to be a quick post as my head is still hurting and my eyes are too from looking at this screen.  But I had to leave you with this, Little Buddy cracking himself up!  He is darling.

Have a great day.

It's absolutely gorgeous! What an accomplishment.
I do hope that you are mended asap.
That photo of Buddy cracking himself up is priceless.
(p.s. I am not at all "well endowed" as well. I blame it on the fact that I never had a training bra. What can one expect when that aspect of my maturing was completely ignored and left to languish on its own, with no training whatsoever?)
Wishing you well and sending love...
xoxo, Ellen.

so sorry-migranes are just the worse ever-I used to get those when I had a heavy work load and long commute.
I love your new crochet top-with the right something underneath would make a pretty summer dress, or even a swim suit cover up-loving the color too.
big hugs Kathy

That is one gorgeous piece of artwork that you created. No wonder Caroline was so proud of herself. It's amazingly beautiful!!!!! I still prefer written directions. Must be the part of me that doesn't like to change. Have a lovely day and feel better my friend.

I love reading about little Buddy and your family. And I am impressed with this lovely crochet top. It is stunning. I may put down my knitting needles to crochet it. Hope you feel better real soon.

Oh my...it's just beautiful! Your stitching job is wonderful, although you say there are a few errors. You certainly can't tell it. It's a marvelous piece and something to be very proud of! Love it! Sorry you've had headaches lately. Hopefully it's just the spring pollen and will be gone with the wind. I love charts too. They're much easier on my brain than all the words and less apt to have a mistake. Cute picture of happy L.B.

Wow, it's really beautiful! Pineapples are so versatile and pretty. I love the color too!
I agree about crochet charts, they are so much easier. And when I just started crocheting many years ago, I only used charts. But I had to learn how to follow and write written patterns because that's still what most crocheters prefer.
What a fun picture of the Little Buddy!

I sure wish you'd model it for us. You'll have to kid your husband and tell him you're going to wear it as is. :-) Thanks for the cute LB shot.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh migraines, boo hiss!! I used to get such nasty ones, doc says as I am older my brain blood vessels or something aren't as flexible so they can get much less severe- ouch! Is there a hidden compliment in there? Your tunic is absolutely beautiful!! And there seems to be always boobage issues with tops, either they are too tight or too loose. So annoying!! Your little guy is just a ray of sunshine isn't he?!? Have a happy Easter weekend!

I've been ogling that pattern for a looooong time on Pinterest and ravelry, sadly I am not the right shape to carry it off (no really, I'm really not). Your version of it is simply stunning Meredith, I'm sure it will look amazing on. Also can't believe how quickly you made it. Sorry to hear about your migraines, I get them, they are awful snd I completely understand what you mean about them leaving you wiped out for days. Stay well dear friend,

Dear Meredith, I am so sorry you have had to deal with the migraines. There's nothing worse. I'm surprised you were able to crochet but then crocheting is the balm to all troubles. The top is absolutely GREAT! The pineapple design remind me so much of my Mom. She loved doing anything with pineapples in it. I hope you are feeling much better today and that your weekend is a relaxing, happy time. AND of course, how adorable is LB? That little man has captured all our hearts.
Hugs,
Sharon

That is a fabulous dress! The pattern is just gorgeous and the color is perfect for you. I wouldn't know what to wear under it, but you have the perfect thing.

I don't crochet but I am a big fan of charts for knitting. All those numbers a letters seem so easy to get lost in.

Hope you are feeling better!

Migraines are horrible, horrible things aren't they. I read somewhere that putting your feet in a warm bowl of water with a bag of frozen peas on your head works ...the cold / hot combination works to clear the migraine somehow. I'm in awe of your beautiful crocheted garment, it's truly lovely! X
