Sisters, Aunts, Brothers and Thanks...............

I have a big surprise.  Guess who came to visit?  My sister Claudia is here in hot and humid Florida to meet Little Buddy, well also to see all of us to of course.  There is nothing quite as wonderful as hugging your loving sister.  The sibling that fits perfectly into your embrace and hugs you even harder back.  As you know I have one missing sister who chooses not to be a part of the family, so that makes my dear Claudia even more special.

Even though Little Buddy did not feel well yesterday, and did not show us his best side, he met his Aunt Claudie and they are now pretty inseparable.   He adores her, and well we know the feeling is definitely mutual.

Not to be outdone, Max reminded Aunt Claudie that she was his Aunt first.  He LOVES her and always has.  He cried and cried when she came down the stairs yesterday morning.  Claudia arrived late on Wednesday and Max was already asleep.  She has two boys vying for her attention.

We will have more photos later, but these were pretty good considering Little Buddy felt awful yesterday and just could not tell us what was wrong.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and concern about Mr. 21.  He healed up beautifully physically and by the time he returned to Ohio it just looked like he had not slept well in a few days, sort of like he had dark circles under his eyes but they were really bruises that were still trying to disappear.  The swelling went down quickly and frankly I think he enjoyed telling the story to all of his buddies, boys are strange that way.  He seems okay mentally and emotionally about the situation so I am keeping my fingers crossed he stays that way.  Funny how many people he has heard about that the same thing has happened to them.  It is a crazy world out there.

Claudia and I are off for an adventure, see you soon.

What great pictures Meredith and so glad Mr. 21 is doing so well. What a frightening episode in his life (and yours). Aren't sisters the best? I don't have any "blood" sisters, but I have 3 (who are blood sisters) who adopted me 50 years ago...and we get together at least once a year. Time with them is precious. Enjoy Claudia's visit and have fun on your adventures!!

Oh I love that last photo so much. Little Buddy in those big strong arms. Nothing like the protection of a big brother. I'm glad he's healed well. How lovely that your sister is visiting, I hope you have a wonderful time together. And I hope that Little Buddy is all better now, it's horrible when they're ill, especially when they can't tell you what the matter is. Wishing you all a very good weekend Meredith. CJ xx

Love, love, love, love this post. There is not enough times I could type love to let you know how I feel about this post. My sister just came to visit and I know how special that is. I miss her. She misses me. I'm sure Claudia was SO excited to meet your little guy. And the picture with Max. Oh my. We know how much she loves dogs from her blog and it's evident Max returns the feeling. I'm so glad your oldest has recovered. It is a sad world we live in, that people find beating someone up entertaining. I hope your visit is wonderful Meredith.
Blessings,
Betsy

Wow, Mr. 21 has healed up so quickly. Thank goodness for youth, huh? And it is a good story -- since it has a happy ending.

Your sister and LB look so much alike? LB was clearly meant to be part of your family.

Hope your adventure was fun!

What wonderful family pictures! Mr.21 does indeed look like he is no worse for the wear! I'm glad of that! It is nice to see Claudia down there with you! At least there wasn't much of a change in weather for her... lol! It is still wicked humid here in New Hampshire and the air conditioner is running keeping us cool and comfortable in an otherwise rather yucky summer!

Talk soon my sweet blogging sister... Hi to Claudia if she is still there with you?!
Hugs always,
Beth

I haven't been around to read blogs lately. My mom is really sick and thing have just piled up.
So glad that Claudia is there to visit. Have a wonderful visit. I know Little Buddy has to be smitten with her and visa versa.
I am so sorry to hear what happened to your son. The downtown area of Columbus is really bad right now. So many shootings. I haven't heard much of things like what happened to him but probably because of the shootings. I used to take off and go downtown when City Center was still there or to COSI, but I don't anymore. What happened is just wrong. I can't imagine how bad that was. I am glad he is healing. It just makes me really mad that this happens.
If he ever needs anything have him get ahold of me. Also my son works downtown and is a federal marshal.
Tell Claudia hello and you two have a great time.

I was cringing when I read about what happened to your son! My gosh, he was lucky! How awful. I am so glad he is okay.
I hope to get back to blogging soon. I have missed so much.
Love ya,
Kris

Just read your last post, OMG how awful about your son being attacked, it defies belief how anyone can do that. So glad he is ok, well as ok as you can be after that. Not surprised you've been shaken up and tired this past few days. So how lovely to have your sister visit, I hope that's helped a bit.

I always love your pictures of Little Buddy. What a dear. I too have a sibling who wants to remain aloof. Incomprehensible, isn't it? Also, my own Mr. 21 texted me that he was heading toward the emergency room because his dog bit him. I had the worst Mom-guilt ever because I only saw the text when I got his "leaving the ER" text about three hours later! Back in those days of expecting a baby I think we had no idea about this--or many other--parts of being a Mom. Glad your boy is okay.

Happy sister time, Mere! And happy aunt time to LB and Max. Dogs never forget family members, no matter how long between visits. When we went to see my niece in NY last month, her dog cried and cried too when we arrived. Such a happy/sad feeling to know that a fellow-creature loves you that much.

Thank you for this sweet and love-filled post. I'm so glad Mr. 21 is healing quickly and well.

:)

P.S. LB has the MOST beautiful complexion. What would it be like to have skin like that! :)

I read one time, "If you want to know the value of a sister, then ask someone who doesn't have one." That would be me. I suppose the glass doesn't have to be half empty if a person tries to list all the "pros" and just forget the "cons". How wonderful that your sister came to visit. Your little guy seems to love everyone he meets and how special is that. All the pictures are good memories. I'm glad your son recovered from his terrible incident. School will be starting soon for him. I hope that this year brings only good things his way.

Dear Meredith.. I'm so happy for you and the family that your sister is visiting. I bet you're having a blast together. I was so sorry to read of your son's attack! What a horrific thing to go through! I guess we all need to learn a lesson from this and never walk alone in a city, or anywhere! We are home from our 12 day camping trip and are putting things away and resting up too. I put up a big blog post yesterday. Now to get back to normal! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I'm glad 21 is feeling better. The photos in this post are great. I can feel the love, Mere :)

I'm disappointed that anyone who was lucky enough to be born to you and your sister would decline the ability to be family. what a waste. Oh well. Life can be odd. I'm glad you have each other. xoxo.
