At last the list is done.....and Miss Spider

You know me I am a list freak, and at last the list I had for the weekend is done.  I have crossed everything off and I am so happy.  Now I can actually sit down and relax with several more hours left in my day.  Hooray!

Maybe I can actually work on this baby blanket.  I am using a simple ripple, one that can be found about anywhere, comprised of a 14 stitch repeat and a size I hook.  It should go quickly.

There are grain sweetened chocolate chip cookies fresh from the over.

There has been time outside and inside helping Little Buddy to ride on his new Flying Turtle.  This is such a therapy toy, the poor boy gets stuck with such functional toys because I am a therapist.  You wiggle your back and arms to make this go.  I adapted a mini foot rest out of tubing and duck tape so his little feet don't slide off.  He thinks it is hysterical when I ride it and he races after me with his walker.

I found this beauty right outside my screen while washing my pavers with the pressure washer.  She was up in the space between the screen and the tree, and let me tell you she is BIG!  I was wowed by her beautiful web, this web has to be at least three feet across.  From one weaver to another I had to appreciate her work.  Doesn't she remind you of the spider in Miss Spider's Tea Party?  This lovely lady is a Golden Silk Orb Weaver.  She can grow to approximately 2 inches long, let me tell you she is every bit that length if not longer.  Found in swampy areas, check on that, my backyard is a swamp.  Males are not near this lovely (no surprise there).  She will produce two egg sacks this Autumn with hundreds of eggs in each sack.  She loves bugs, but doesn't want to bite you and if you provoke her the bite is really minor.  I really don't want to provoke her or frankly join her for tea, but I am still just in awe of her beauty.

My back pool area is now a toad/frog zone.  They are everywhere and they are teeny tiny.  I would say around 1/2 in. wide and tall.  I had to watch them so carefully while pressure washing, I didn't want to hurt them.  They come in many colors, black, gold, brown and almost translucent.  Fascinating little things as they jump around trying to get away from me.  Unfortunately they like to jump in my pool and drown so I am always on the lookout to try and save them.

This little boy has enjoyed his three day weekend.  He has worked outside, well shall I say walked around outside while I worked.  He went in the pool with Dad.  He tried not to take naps, and has had no success on the potty.  He has talked non stop all day long, everyday.  And when my Mr. 18 came up behind him the other day and scared him he said, "Hey! What's the deal?!?!"  He is a riot, this little boy of mine.  He is growing, can you tell that he is looking older, or is it just me?

Hope you all had a happy weekend, crossed everything off your list, and have a wonderful week.

Amazing ,you're are sitting for a bit my whirlwind friend!! Your cookies look scrumptious!! And I like spiders too. I always do catch and release here if I find them in the house. However a black widow did run up my arm in the garden awhile back and I knocked her off and skedaddled onto our deck for a bit! Lil buddy is sure growing and all your hard work and encouragement is sure showing. He always looks so happy and well loved. He sure has s great sense of humour! My list is ongoing but if I can get this house looking shipshape today it will be a triumph lol!! Have a super day!

Yes, I had noticed that he seemed more grown up! I meant to mention it a couple of posts ago. His expression seems more little boy and less toddler now if you know what I mean! I love the new toy, that looks like lots of fun - and the car transporter too! Glad you got your list done, I hope you enjoyed your relaxing time!! xx

I have a few more things to cross off my list today. But I'm going swimming first! Then when I get home I'll be too tired. LOL! Looks like you have all the makings of a Witches brew.. spiders and frogs, oh my! I was just thinking how mature LB is looking.. he is such a doll. Someday you'll have to make a video of him talking to share with us. Enjoy crocheting, my friend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Wow Meredith you have been a worker bee! But it is a nice feeling to get it all finished.

Even with that, it sounds like you have had a lovely weekend. I hope your week is a good one.

Love that comment from LB! And can we see a photo of you on the flying turtle?! Kids love to see their parents using their toys don't they? Sounds like pressure washing is a tricky occupation in your house, so many little creatures to avoid. I am the same, hate it when all the little snails come out at night, sometimes you just don't see them, and too late, crunch! Enjoy a real now all your jobs are done

I remember Charlotte's Web as my fav spider story! Little Buddy is adorable and so glad he's working on his muscles and co-ordination on the turtle. I'd like to see you on the turtle! Tee Hee! I've not done well with my list although I did a few things today once I got home from work....rest cuz I was tired from waking up earlier than I wished and.....did some bill pay! I NEED to knit and read tonight. Will see how it goes. Be careful of the toadaway zone by your pool. Too cute to be drowned. We had a big squirrel in our yard yesterday, so fun to watch but not able to capture him on camera. Take care my friend. God bless you all!

Your spider is beautiful and definitely an awesome weaver, dear Meredith. My spider that leaped on my bed is another story. I'm glad you had a productive weekend. I did too, and finished the baby blanket I started earlier this summer. Yes, Little Buddy is looking older. "What's the deal?!?!" Hope you and yours have a happy week, too :) xx

I love spider webs. Who would think that something so small could make something so beautiful. I never saw the turtle that LB was riding on. Looks like fun! I can hear the giggles when he chases you. Yes he is starting to look older. Out of the baby/toddler looking stage for sure. He is growing up right before our eyes. He looks like he has grown quite a bit also. Stretching out.

I am a fan of a list too. There is nothing nicer than completing a long list, so well done enjoy the moment until the next list starts. Love the flying turtle I could have some fun with that. I have the car transporter, the children really enjoy it. Little Buddy is certainly growing up fast, where does the time go?

Your boy is definitely looking taller and stronger. One day you will have to stop calling him "little" Buddy!

Before I saw your last sentence I was going to say how I thought he was looking bigger suddenly. The last photo particularly made me think it. I love the flying turtle. But no photo of you flying along on it..? Well done on getting to the end of your list, very satisfying I think. Spiders are out and about in great numbers here as well, there was a huge one on the stairs last night. No idea where it is now. I hope you had a good Labor Day. CJ xx

Wow! That web is amazing. Most folks would have just whacked it down without even a second thought. Glad you got through your to-do list. Where's the picture of you wiggling on the turtle flyer? Little B sure is growing big and strong, all because of your TLC. Hugs, Tammy

Great post, as usual. The best part is imagining you on the flying turtle! I agree, you should post a picture;) I'm sure LB loves how you play with him. He is looking more little boy than toddler these days. The spider pictures are beautiful. I'm not fond of spiders, but the photos and the details you wrote about are fascinating.

Oh Mere, LB looks so grown up in that last photo?!? Wait a minute you remind him he's still just a little kid!!

My son is horribly scared of spiders. I think it's kind of funny in a cute way, but don't worry, I don't torture him with it or anything. I love the little frogs and toads. i think it's the big eyes that make me wonder what they think of it all.

"What's the Deal?" I laughed right out loud at that one Meredith! That's one of Piper's favorite sayings right now too. :-) It's hilarious to hear coming out of that little girl. She also says, "Just a sec." when Mandy tells her to do something. Mommy doesn't find that funny, but Gramma does! Mommy used to tell me the same thing. :-) Love the flying turtle. I can just see you flying down the sidewalk on it. Spiders. Not so much. Although I agree with you that the web is gorgeously intricate, I'm terrified of spiders. I'm glad you've finally had some time to work on your crochet. We all need our yarn therapy don't we?
Blessings always sweet friend,
Betsy

I love that ride on thing. Looks like you could really get going on that!

Spiders are a sure sign of fall around here anyhow. It always amazes me how fast those intricate webs appear. LB is growing up so fast. Our GK are, too. They get older, but we don't, right?

Oh girlfriend.....I am so bad at blogging lately. But I am here to play catch up. That little guy of yours, he just warms my heart. The photo of him snug in his bed, nearly made me cry. What a wonderful home and family life he has landed in. So great!!!
The cardi.....LOVE it!!! The jeans fix....excellent! The pattern, so adorable. I don't know if it is the one I have been looking for, or just like one that I have been wanting. But I wait for the sale on patterns, and then, usually, they are all snatched up.
I think of you.
Miss all of my regular blogging pals.
XO Kris

Such a lovely post! I loved your thoughts on the spider, they're fascinating creatures indeed, and the little toad, oh so cute! LB does look older, I'm not a long time follower, but I already see what you're talking about, and he seems like fun to have around... : )
