The marvelous moon and a baby blanket finish.....................

The full moon was spectacular the other night.  The wind was whipping the clouds by it so fast, it was fascinating to watch, but it was chilly out so I kept my picture taking to a minimum.  I bet all of you on the East Coast were not able to see it as you were in the midst of that huge blizzard.  Yikes, what a mess!  I guess Winter is finally here and making a big statement.  We are chilly here, a lovely break from the intense heat and a reminder that there are actually seasons.

Due to my enforced day at home yesterday I was able to get some crocheting done.  I thought I was going to add one more stripe of cream to this blanket, but after a good look at it I felt it was big enough for a baby.  As soon as I figured that out I turned into a crochet mad woman, I just wanted it finished.   So last night while watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix, and laughing out loud at their antics, I finished this blanket.  This show is not appropriate for little ones but it is hysterical for all of us adults, I think you should all jump on your computers, iPad's, or televisions and watch this show.  I almost could not turn it off it made me giggle so much.

Here are the baby blanket particulars,
Yarn: Berroco Remix, 2 balls in Cream and 3 in Almond
1050 yards used in total
Size I hook
14 stitch ripple
chain 126 stitches plus 2 for the first dc
9 repeats of the pattern
finished size 34 in. by 36 in.
For new great niece or nephew due in May

And for all of you covered in snow, this is for you.  There will be flowers again, and there will be color.  Just enjoy the beauty of Winter, which is easier said than done I realize as I sit here in Florida and I am not under two feet of snow.  There might not be a beauty in shoveling snow but looking at it from inside with a cup of tea sounds fun.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts about my boys.
Little Buddy has a cold, a runny, stuffy nose and a cough.  He is not miserable, just snotty.  Max is still on pain medication which makes him think he can do more than he can, like bark at the pool.  He is enjoying these stay at home days where he can be petted and tended to round the clock.

Hope you are all safe and warm, and for those of you around the world I hope you have cooled off.

Awww.....a cold! I hope little Buddy gets over that real soon. Lovely shots of the
full moon, very nice. Gorgeous baby blanket too. I was quite surprised when a customer
of mine asked me to make a baby blanket in that same colour. I was very surprised at how
nice it looked though, so I love that colour now.
Hugs, Anita.

Lovely moon pictures, so atmospheric. I love the Grace and Frankie series. I think it's so funny but also quite poignant. The baby blanket looks beautiful. It's a good feeling when you can see the end in sight and put on a mad spurt to get something finished. I hope Little Buddy's cold clears up.soon. Love Janet x

Glad you are able to stay in a few days with LB and Max. Bella is a fanatic about me being home with her. She's especially clingy since John passed away. I take her every day to the new house and she seems to enjoy being over there.

Have a great week!

Eighteen inches of dry, powdery snow in my part of West Virginia. It's beautiful. And I see no need to complain since that won't make it disappear. ha

Your baby blanket is lovely. I'm making one too! I started yesterday and hope to have it done in a few days. I've got lots of other projects that have to be completed soon. I'm not sure how I get myself into these situations. :-)

Thank you for the beautiful geranium photo. I hope Little Buddy is feeling better.

I love the baby blanket. I think I need to learn crochet. Would cotton yarn with a bit of linen work for a blanket like that? I finished my scarf and need a new project!

we don't have snow on the ground -- maybe a little tonight -- but I appreciate the flowers just the same. Can't wait to get out there and dig in the dirt.

Beautiful picture of the full moon. Hope Max and Little Buddy are on the mend, a cold can be quite a trauma for a little one. Loved the blanket, such a beautiful gift for a new member of the family. Take care.

Yay for finishing ... and ahead of schedule. I just finished a baby blanket today, too. In fact, I've got several going. A couple for gifts (baby boys already born) and the others for the hospital where I volunteer. Healing wishes for both your boys.

Wow, I love the shots you got of the moon! And bravo on the blanket. I'm happy for you that you didn't make the mistake I did.. I started too wide and then it took me FoReVeR to finish it. Never again. Today is 3 bootie day for me. Maybe one. LOL! I'm reading Sara Donati's 2nd book after "Into the Wilderness", it's "Dawn of a Distant Shore" and can't put them down! I'm glad both of your boys are doing better. Enjoy your Sunday. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Wow, that is an incredible moon isn't it! Beautiful blanket, I am sure that it will be gratefully received and much treasured by the new baby and the parents. Hope that Buddy and Max are soon back to normal, after all, barking at the pool can't be that exciting! Glad you are not having weather troubles! xx

Hi Meredith! I like how the baby blanket turned out. A ripple is always a good choice. Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Somehow I missed the post about poor Max and your jeans re-do. Love the skirt, and glad the pooch is on the mend.

Happy Sunday sweet Meredith! I hope Little Buddies cold soon gets better and that Max can be off his pain meds. That pool must be bothering him if he's barking at it. Ha ha! The baby blanket turned out beautifully. I love those two colors together. And your flower is my favorite color. Purple. Anything purple is perfect in my eyes. Our snow is almost all gone here but Mandy got 24 1/2 inches! They're digging out today.
Blessings, Betsy

Your weekend sounded just right! I'm glad you finished the pretty baby blanket while you nursed Max and LB. Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of the moon and flower. We had a rainbow today in between rain showers, and I saw the moon tonight amidst some clouds. I've been making a vision board out of file folders this weekend. My oldest son's family has been shoveling over two feet of snow at their home in Bayside, NY! Wishing you a happy week :) xx

Wasn't that an awesome moon? I have watched Grace and Frankie, too. I thought the first episode was really good, but for me it kind of dropped off after a few episodes.

Nice blanket! I bet it'll be much loved. Hope LB is feeling better by now, too. Funny thing, the moon looked just like that out this way, and for once was visible even. Hope it's a tad warmer out your way by now!

Poor Little Buddy. I sure hope he is feeling better soon. We have been sick here for the entire month of January, and the better part of December. It was dreadful! But all are feeling pretty well again now. Such a relief!
I sure am enjoying blogging again!!!! Thanks for you sweet words!
