Caroline my dress form has started to complain about her work load. She told me she feels like the photo shoots are a little too frequent lately. She wants to, "join a union" and, "get paid time off". I reminded her that she has a nice warm home to live in, and that she would be bored if I didn't drape something on her and take her photo, and of course she is lucky to not be living in a box at Joann Fabrics. Then I preceded to show her all the rain that we are having outside and told her she could be like other models and have to work in, "that!" She has now quieted down a bit. Sassy dress forms are not what I need right now.
Please note the project above that has created all the fuss, a simple Queen Anne's Lace Scarf made from some of the remainder of my Interlacements, Grape Harvest yarn. I guess this is my go to scarf pattern as it is fun to make and crochets up very fast.
Here is a look at the yarn featured in weaving and crochet. I think it is fun to see how it works with both projects. I will be sending this scarf to my SIL, yes the one I thought about sending the shawl/table runner to. She is a wonderful woman and we are approaching the two year anniversary of my BIL's death. I just want her to know I am thinking about her.
I still have enough yarn over to make another scarf which I started last night. This is a very soft yarn, and it makes as lovely of a scarf as it does a table runner/shawl. I just wish I knew which Interlacements yarn this is as there was no name on the label, just the color Grape Harvest. I am trying to use up this beautiful yarn so I add nothing to my stash.
Today I got home from work, put Little Buddy to bed for a nap, and had time to warp up my loom, after doing my paperwork of course. I am going for a very simple soft pink scarf.
This is Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo yarn I bought when my favorite yarn store in Tampa closed. It was a good 40 or 50% off when I bought it so it was a bargain. I have used this yarn before and I love it. It is indeed soft and snuggly! I hope to whip this up this weekend. Hopefully the rain stays around a while which will give me the excuse to stay inside and play.
When I arrived home from work and sat down at my desk to do my paperwork this is what I found. Not a good sign is it? Thank goodness it isn't a real sheep! This little one has been righted and is now standing on all four legs. Hope it isn't and omen of some kind!
Happy Thursday Everyone.

Meredith it's quite obvious what's gone on here, Caroline and the sheep have been in an argument don't think for one moment that it's just you she'd been moaning on to she will moan to anyone who just happens to be there and the poor sheep just had to be there when she got into a rant, obviously the sheep must have told her that she should be grateful to have such a great home but she just went on and on so in the end the poor sheep keeled over in sheer frustration :) The scarf is very pretty and your SIL will love it.xxx
The scarf is lovely and so unusual! Happy Thursday to you too :) xxx
Beautiful scarf! Caroline is being quite cheeky! Maybe you need to turn her towards the wall until she learns to behave.
I love that yarn. Poor little sheep.
I think it's so interesting how different that yarn looks woven and then crocheted. I like how you arranged the scarf, it gives it more presence that way! Why does that word not look right? Sheep definitely do not like being upside down, glad you fixed him back upright. Tell your dress form that she does not know how good she has it there. Cheeky monkey! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
LOL...that little sheep lying on his back with his feet up made me laugh. I feel like that sometimes. Wish it was as easy as someone uprighting me and standing me back up on my legs! Haha. Your scarf is so pretty. They always are. Hope you're having a good week. Thanks for the smile. ♥
That poor sheep! Maybe he is joining Caroline in her protest. :-)
The Queen Anne's Lace pattern is fun to make, and I like how your latest scarf looks on Caroline...even if she is complaining about her work load. I understand that if sheep get waterlogged and fall down they can't get up so maybe your sheep somehow soaked up some of the rain you have been having. It has rained all day here, too, but we are supposed to be getting more sunshine and warmer temps this coming week. Have a happy weekend, Meredith :) xx
Well I am going to have to get some new running shoes to keep up with your posts and projects!! Your sheep probably fainted with excitement when she saw all the beautiful projects flying off your needles, hooks and loom! No wonder Caroline is so pissy! I love seeing how yarn we knit with weaves up, it's quite magical. Your SIL is sure blessed to have you in her life.
Where do you find the time??? I do see how relaxing it is for you so I totally get you relaxing during your down time, using your hands, imagination and maybe some daydreaming. . I really love the woven scarf. It looks very warm and I really look for that during our frigid winters. Those color are so pretty. You do some great work, Meredith. :)
That little sheep is charming upside or down! Precious!
Thanks for your visit. Glad you understand the 'boom' of surround sound. Movie theaters are definitely out for me! :(
Jane
Ha! So cute buddy!!! She should feel lucky to have art wrapped around her!!! Such a stunning piece!! Love the edging and the colors! And you go with getting your loom all ready to go during nap time! Super mom is your new name! Have a great weekend Meredith!!! Nicole xo
Oh my goodness I love the comments on this post Meredith. I laughed out loud at Linda's. You guys have quite the imagination. Caroline does seem to be getting Quite full of herself these days. I think you told her exactly what she needed to hear to decide she wanted to stay inside your nice home. And the sheep. Oh my goodness!. I think that happens when they get too much water on them as Gracie said. :-). Your scarf is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see what your loom scarf looks like. You are a very talented woman my dear friend. I hope you have a nice rainy weekend so you can get all the projects you want completed.
Blessings, Betsy
What a bautiful scarf my dear friend your SIL will love it. I miss you and hope you are doing well. :)
Hahahahaha. I shouldn't laugh at Caroline's musings to you hug yep she's being sassy alright. Maybe the sheep had enough of her whinging?!?! No need to tell you the scarf is gorgeous. It speaks for itself. Fascinating to see the difference with he colour from weaving to crochet
I disappear for a couple of days and wow another project finished, you are faster than the speed of light. Caroline is very lucky to have such a wonderful home, she will learn...
Oh you know Meredith, us Caroline's do like a good moan, especially when we are thinking we are being worked too hard - we need a break from all those photos, a sit down and cup of tea ;-).
I do love that yarn, the colours are just gorgeous. Just noticed the super bag on your previous post too (I keep thinking I would like to have a go at weaving) and how great that LB has now been with you 2 years - you are so lucky to have each other. I always enjoy photos of LB, esp with this big brothers, the photos radiate joy!
Best wishes
Caz xx (aka Caroline!)
I think I'm going to have to side with Caroline - you really are working her hard these days! The latest Queen Anne scarf is so beautiful, I'm sure your SIL will love it. You're turning into quite a Wonder Woman with all these projects you are completing. Keep up the good work. Janet x
It's a good sign. A blissed out happy sheep looking up at the sky. Love the scarf, I know your S-I-L will too. Wishing you a good weekend. CJ xx
Glad you got things straightened out with Caroline! The scarves are looking quite fabulous. If she gives you any more lip, tell her Milo has been subjected to a lot of pin-sticking to get a jacket facing hung correctly, so it could be worse............:)
You pick the most beautiful yarns to work with. Oh Caroline you are one lucky dress form to be able to model such pretty things! As for the sheep, what happens when you are away is always a mystery!
hugs,
Linda
I would love to see you modeling your gorgeous work. Seriously!
Good job on the scarf
How do you do it!You are just a production line of beautiful objects. Is the Queen Anne scarf really simple?
Caroline is very naughty to be complaining isn't she!!! Perhaps she has been in touch with your sisters Caroline and found out that she has a whole house of her own... Hope that the sheepie was OK! Your SIL will love the gifts that you are sending her and to know that you are thinking of her. xx
Love your scarf the yarn colors are beautiful.
Poor Caroline. Overworked and underpaid. She does get nice clothes to wear though.
I keep meaning to make a Queen Anne scarf, it's so pretty :)
Have a great weekend,
Jill xo
Richard once rescued a real sheep that was on its back, unable to get up because of the water heavy fleece. Poor thing would have died if it wasn't for Richard. Maybe you could offer Caroline a rise? Best not to enter any work disputes :-) Have a lovely weekend. x
Loved this post! Caroline may be overworked but she still gets to try on all your beautiful projects so it can't be all bad.

Ha-Ha! I love Linda's comment. :) I've not tried the Queen Anne's scarf pattern. You and Claudia make it look so easy.
Your post is so fun! I think Caroline should be happy as she's kept warm and stylish in your house! Your scarf is lovely and your sheep are fun! For me it's stuffed rabbits at my house. Yes, you are busy and you seem to have amazing projects done in no time at all. Sigh! Way to go and have a great week, my friend!
Your SIL should love that scarf! Such a pretty color, too. And I liked the way your pink scarf turned out even though it fought you a bit. Good work making it obey!
