Easter and enablers................

First of all a very Happy Easter to all of you celebrating this holiday.  I have a little bunny here that would like to wish you a wonderful day tomorrow, he is very excited about the Easter Bunny hopping into his house with a basket.  Can you believe these ears were on my older boys were they were little?  Apparently I keep way too many things.

Thanks to all of you enablers I did actually go back to the yarn store for one more visit.  I had picked up the turquoise yarn above on my previous visits but just kept putting it down.  I swear that yarn just stuck in my head and I went back and there it was.  So much of the yarn was gone off the shelves already, I mean at 50% off it won't stay there for long, but this beautiful turquoise was still there waiting for me.

As I walked towards the cash register this gorgeous gray yarn jumped into my arms.  Now I purposely did not want to pick up a basket for my purchases because I did not want to add more yarn then I was ready to buy,  but how can you not look like a fool to other shoppers trying to wrestle beautiful yarn back onto the shelf?  I mean I did not want to make a spectacle of myself so I quietly walked to the check out with these skeins hoping no other yarn would take advantage of an empty spot in my arms.  Yarn is funny that way, it has a mind of its own, it wants to belong to certain people and be made into certain projects and you will pay the price if you mess with it!

I am really done yarn shopping now, seriously I am!  I swear I had to laugh at how enabling you all are.  I know I am talking to the wrong crowd when feeling guilty about buying yarn, or fabric, or anything crafty.  I think we all understand, in someway, how making something helps us feel calm and grounded.  It helps us focus, de-stress and be creative.  And as my friend Toni said to me in an email, with Malabrigo yarn at 50% off, she was surprised there was not bloodshed.  So now I am officially on a yarn diet because I have a wee bit of a yarn addiction.  Hi, my name is Meredith, and I have gone 23 hours without buying yarn.........

I tried the yummy chicken dinner so many of you are making.  That includes the lovely and kind  Teresa who has the link for this dish on this post, and the wonderful and talented Kris,  both raved about this dish.  It is delicious and really, really easy.  I am not one to cook very much although some days it falls into my hands, this recipe is a keeper, even Mr.18 thought it was yummy, he hates my cooking so that is saying something!

Happy Easter to all of you celebrating, and to all my readers I wish each and every one of you a wonderful and peaceful weekend.

Meredith, if there is one thing that guarantees a smile when I visit your blog it is Little Buddy. He surpassed himself this time, those ears and carrot was just too much I am grinning from ear to ear. He is one cute boy. I love the yarn and was impressed by your restraint, well done. Have a wonderful Easter.

I love that photo of Little Buddy! What a cutie. I have to tell you that I think the eyepatch is working already. His eyes look better to me. Good job, mama. I hope you and all your men have a wonderful Easter! Take care and enjoy.

The rabbit ears are adorable!! I gave Tiger and Scout their baskets today but forgot to get photos. They loved them. The yarn is so beautiful, I'm glad you went back for more!

Hi Meredith! Happy Easter to you. What a great picture of Little Buddy. He looks so, so happy. Love the carrot and the ears. Gorgeous yarn you managed to get -- funny isn't it how sometimes it really does just jump into your arms and there is nothing you can do except make your way to the cash register. I copied that recipe from Teresa's blog the other day...just waiting for my hubby to wander home (he's been away on a 1-2 week guy trip...good for his soul and mine!!).

I'm so glad you went back and invested in some more of that discounted art medium. :-) I'm so glad to see you tried that chicken recipe.. I can't wait to try it again, the flavor of it was outstanding. Thanks for the shout-out! Have fun tomorrow.

Dear little bunny, he is so adorable in those ears. Well done on saving a little more yarn, that grey is especially gorgeous. I'm wishing you and yours a very happy Easter. CJ xx

Little Buddy is so adorable!!!! Especially in the ears.

So glad we were all there to help you with your yarn--the turquoise yarn is beautiful, and the grey is completely lovely. Did you know that Elizabeth Zimmerman recommended it as a color for babies? And 50% off to boot. :)

Happy Easter to you too! Collecting lovely yarn is such a funny little pleasure. And looking at yarn is too. I love to look at yarn on blogs--so weird! And I feel a little happy flutter when a yarn catalogue arrives in the mail. I make a cup of tea and look at every page. Hahaha!

That might be the cutest bunny of all! Those ears look like a pretty nice set of ears. Not surprised they have held up through THREE boys.

There was a LOT of stash enhancement at my house this weekend too. At the first shop I may have been tempted to buy yarn for a beautiful lace shawl. Okay ......I WAS CONVINCED. A shawl will be made.

Then today ---- only one skein ---- a bit of Euroflax to go with the ones I have. That will become a summery top.

Wishing you all a very happy Easter. Hope the bunny is good to Little Buddy!
I'm branching out from socks! It's about time!

I adore that picture of little buddy! The ears, the grin, the carrot. It's all so perfect. And the fact that his big brothers wore those ears, well, you can't get much better than that for a little guy. I'm so glad you went back and got more yarn Meredith. 50% off is way too good to pass up. And obviously that gray just needed to go home with you if it was just jumping off the shelves into your arms! I'm going to have to try that chicken dinner too. I keep seeing it on all of your blogs and my mouth waters every time. Happy Easter my dear friend. I hope you have a nice relaxing day tomorrow.
Blessings always,
Betsy

Little Buddy is adorable in those rabbit ears! He is such a cutie anyway.
You deserve the yarn.
A very Happy Easter to you and yours.
And if you think you keep things way too long, wait until you are nearing 72, and still have Fisher-Price in your attic that belongs to daughters now ages 47 and 43!

Mr. Bunny sure is cute. Glad you bought the yarn. Otherwise you would be tormented thinking about it. :) Have a blessed day!

Wishing you and yours a very happy Easter. I hope that Little Buddy wasn't disappointed this morning and that the Easter Bunny had visited and made a delivery. That turquoise yarn is such a lovely colour, no wonder you had to have it.

Good morning, I always enjoy seeing photos of Little Buddy-just a sweetheart. I agree with you on the yarn-sometimes it just calls to us-I think it is our muse that does that-enjoy! I can see that shop holding an 80% off sale just before closing we had a small quilt shop nearby that did that.

It looks like Little Buddy has been replaced by Little Bunny. :-)

If it makes you feel any better there's no way I could have resisted that turquoise yarn either. It's such a gorgeous colour. Happy Easter!

Well who could resist beautiful yarn at 50% off, to do so would just be plain nuts and it would haunt you for the rest of your life!!! The wool that got away!!! Lil buddy/bunny looks so cute - his eye looks so much better. Thanks for the recipes, yum. Have a Happy Easter with your family!

Well, I'm glad you kept the ears and carrot...somehow you knew you would want to use them again :) My mom made bunny costumes for two of my nieces and those costumes have made the rounds of the little ones in our family: my daughters, nieces, great nieces and nephews and now my granddaughters! Furry fun!

It will be lovely and inspiring to see what you make with your even greater yarn investment!

Encouraging your creativity :) xx

Lol...yes, you are talking to the wrong crowd of people. Seriously, you can't just leave yarn behind like that and I too have had yarn simply jump out at me and come home. You will be thankful one day when you need those colours. Love Buddy's ears, they're cute.
Hi, my name is Anita.....and I am a knitting addict. lol
Cheers.

Little Buddy + Little Bunny ears = Cuteness!!! Hope you had a nice day!

Oh I want bunny ears like those your Little Buddy is wearing. I doubt I'd look half as cute :-) Glad you could rescue a bit more yarn, it has come to a good home. Have a lovely week xx

That is beautiful yarn I can see why you bought it home even if you already have a big stash! I am sure it will be knitted into something lovely and useful :). Enjoy!

I love your gorgeous Easter Bunny, I hope his basket was overflowing with goodies. You showed great restraint in limiting your yarn purchases, you should feel very virtuous, and certainly not guilty - I would have swept the shelves clear.
Lots of love to you and all your family.

Wow, LB's eyes are really lining up! Hope he had a fun day.

Swooning over that yarn.... "Wonderland" is what every yarn shop should be called. :)

Beautiful yarn! And you can't really pass up a good steal like that! ;)

Happy Easter! Your new yarn is making me twitch. So sorry to hear about the closing but yowza...what a dream come true!

Wow, where have I been? So much going on in your reality. I'm glad to see my fellow yarn enthusiasts were sure to egg you on in the appropriate manner. NO blood shed with half off Malabrigo, indeed! The yarn that flung itself at you in that gray is gorgeous and the blue. It's a favorite for sure. I love it whenever I find a new easy dish to put into the rotation that makes everyone happy. All the best.

LB is just adorable with the bunny ears! I am impressed that you kept the ears, could find them, and that they were not destroyed by any critters.

Enabling and yarn. Such a problem. And such a joyful activity!

That chicken sure looks yummy.

I think you did the right thing getting that yarn - and it makes me smile to know I'm not the only one who keeps getting back to shops and markets to get yarns/thread I left there before because thinking "no, I already have too much"... ;)

Your chicken dish looks so much prettier than mine! Isn't it yummy! That bunny is the cutest bunny I have ever seen!!!!
Yarn and fabric. Yes, it's a problem!

Always happy to meet another knitter -saw your blog name on Amalia's:)
I am not on a yarn diet! But I have slowed down after we moved, now almost 2 years ago, because I had about 6 projects not finished - so I'm still finishing up! Besides knitting 2 blankets for Christmas for my youngest grands, and some scarves...etc., etc.
The slowing down is also, because before, I lived in Los Angeles - many yarn stores in that area, but here around Sacramento there are 2 that are reasonably stocked, but do not always have what I want (you understand, am spoiled yarnwise). Am glad I found your blog!

Bless little Buddy he always brings a smile to my face with his brightness he looks so cute on his bunny ears. If Yarn makes you happy never stop buying it is my moto :-) Hope you had a lovely Easter, dee :-)

Thank you for being a part of SEASONS - at least now I have one knitter to back me up, haha:) Also, for leaving a heart warming comment! Hope to "see" you back next Monday - Wednesday.

Happy Easter to Little Buddy! He looks so grown up :) And I think your yarn purchase was perfectly reasonable, it's just not the done thing to wrestle with yarn in yarn stores! xo
