Happy Women's Day and a day at the beach.......

Happy Mother's Day to you my friends.  This can be a joyous day or one of sadness as we miss our Mother's that have passed.  I always think this day should be called Happy Woman's Day, because we as women, no matter our age, mother those around us.  We might have children, or animals all of whom need mothering.  We may have nieces and nephews, children living close by, friends that need taking care of, students or patients, or even aging parents we have now switched roles with and are now taking care of them. Mothering comes in many different forms, so to all of you women out there I wish you a wonderful day.  Never underestimate the care and love you have given to others, you have changed their world.  We are the glue that keeps it all together aren't we?

So just to make you smile, which I know we all need to do, I am going to inundate you photos of Little Buddy's first trip to the beach yesterday.  We went late in the afternoon with the, "A is for Aunts" like he likes to call them.  I dare you not to smile when you see these.

There now don't you feel better?  Thank you for being here for me my friends.  And thank you for joining me in this crazy wild ride we call life.  You all lift me up and make me laugh, you inspire me in so many different ways, I appreciate each and every one of you.
Happy Women's Day!

And not to be forgotten or over looked, my kind and gentle son is turning 19 today.  How did this sweet boy of mine get so old so fast?  Happy Birthday Mr. 19!  You are loved more than you can ever imagine.

Have a great day.

Oh Meredith... what beautiful boys you have! All 3 of them {furry included}.
Happy Women's Day to you too because you are so very right about it all. Our roles change and evolve and even for those who are never mother's they do a lot of mothering. We are nurturers in this thing called LIFE. That's Mothering.
Your pictures of Little Buddy at the beach made me smile through shiny tears.
So much love I am sending your way,
Danette

Sounds as if you had a lovely day with lots of celebrating. Sure hope that water was warmer than ours is here! Nothing quite beats playing in the sand though and then rinsing off afterwards, eh? Enjoyed your thoughtful post, Mere. Thank you.

Glad Buddy had a fun time at the beach. I could have used a day at the beach as well. But a bit of shopping yesterday afternoon was fine with me. I needed a "me" getaway from everything day. Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog posts, my dear!Happy week and hope you had a lovely Mother's Day!

I agree about Mother's/Woman's Day. I called my sister-in-law yesterday to wish her a Happy Mother's Day, she has no children, but does have a husband she takes good care of.
They do grow up fast!

Why have you not taken Little B to the beach before? That boy needs some sun. Ha! :) Looks like a whole lotta fun was had. That Max is a love. Happy birthday to Mr. 19. Seeing all your boys makes me want to cry. In October, my boys will be 21 and 18 and they will be in colleges 29 hours driving distance from each other and thousands and thousands of miles away from me. Egads!

Such wonderful photos, they certainly did make me smile. I think the beach was a big hit, Buddy looks to have had a fabulous time. Happy belated birthday to your son, I hope he had a great day. The last year he'll be a teen.

Confession: I failed your dare - smiled straightaway, big cheesy grin. The joy on a child's face is so precious and heartwarming and your Little Buddy is so gorgeous. He looks totally exhilarated. You are lucky to have such a glorious sandy beach.
Your idea about 'women's day' is great. A 'motherING day' is more inclusive than 'mothers' day' and it is true that women like us do mother those around us whether they are our children or not.
How does it feel to have a 19 year-old. Happy Birthday to your handsome son. e Must be at s similar stage with our families as there was a 19th birthday celebration in my household this month too. We can't help but be proud to see them becoming independent young adults. Where do ask the years go?
Thanks for sharing your happy news and cheerful pics. Have fun xxx

Belatedly, Happy Birthday to Mr 19 ! I love this post, Meredith. Sometimes when it seems awhile since I have visited your latest post I find that my blogroll isn't rolling in a timely fashion! At any rate, visiting your latest post now is delightful, and I find your thoughts about Women's Day very apt. I hope you have been having happy days this week and that you and yours will enjoy the weekend :) xxxxxxxxx
