This weekend.......

This weekend there will be a lot more swimming, Little Buddy is making loads of progress in the pool.

This weekend there just might be some crocheting, knitting too of course!  I can't help myself I need to start this new sweater now.

This weekend there will be flowers to water and a garden to weed.

This weekend I am staying near and keeping a close eye on Max.  He has taken a drastic turn this past week and can barely move on his hind legs.  The vet has put him on steroids and pain pills, I am praying for a miracle but fear the worse is near.

This weekend I am taking it easy, I fear the medication I have been taking for my head has given me an ulcer.  I have a lot pain in my upper abdomen but no other signs of anything.   I read up on the side effects of the medication and ULCER was there in big capitols!  I am nursing myself and taking things to make it heal up, and of course stopping the medication.  Nothing they give me works to help my headaches, on one medication I was so spaced out I should not have been driving, my face has swelled on another, and now this.  I am waiting approval for shots, but I had to go through all of this before they could be approved.  So frustrating!

This weekend I plan on being with my furry boy and little boy, while my oldest is in Ohio and Mr. 19 does his own thing here at home.

I am working on Monday, a shortened day but a work day none the less.  Very involved babies can't take a day off, if I can work them in I try my hardest.

What are your plans for this weekend?

Oh my sweet girl, I hope they approve your shots soon. An ulcer is nothing fun for sure.

Little Buddy is becoming quite the FISH!!!! He's so adorable.

Steve starts vacation this week. Hoping to get some of the bigger chores knocked out early and then have a restful END of the week. Maybe a trip down to Vero to Knitty Gritty. That sure would make ME happy.

Hugs,
D

Dear Meredith, you have your hands full right now. I'm so sorry about Max. It is hard when our furry friends start slowing down and showing signs of poor health. I'm also sorry about your medication problems. Do be careful with the ulcers. I had a serious problem with them in 2001 and ended up in CCU. Scary. I hope you are able to the shots and they solve the problem. Little Buddy seems to be a fish. :)
My plans are to take it easy and crochet, listen to some Cubs baseball, and just relax. I hope you have a restful weekend.
Love,
Sharon

Oh Honey. Max is in my prayers all weekend. Whenever I pass St Francis or look out to him in my yard, I will pray for Max.

Your swimming boys are a delight to see photos of.

So Sorry about your ulcer. UGh. Have you tried acupuncture for your headaches? As a not so last resort?

Love your new crochet project.

Your life sounds so full right now Meredith. I will definitely be praying for you my friend. Those headaches are awful and I'm sorry you've had to go through so much just to get the shots you needs. Your little guy is swimming so well and the love between the two of your boys is quite obvious. My thoughts are with you with Max. It can be one of the most painful things in life to watch a beloved pet decline and I know he is so special to your family. I hope you can take some time to enjoy your weekend dear Meredith.
Blessings,
Betsy

So sorry to hear about Max, all you can do is pray. Side effects! I swear the side effects of half the medications I take are worse than the condition I was taking the medication for.
Our daughter has migraines and has to take shots for them, that's the only thing that helps
I don't know how much swimming we'll be doing, the tropical storm that's going to So. Carolina is making is pretty yucky here already.

So sorry you have to deal with everything. Take care yourself so you care for everyone else. Lisa is coming on Monday with her kids. She has an almost 5 year old and one who's almost 3. She's expecting another in July. I think she needs a break.
Give Max a hug from me. We have one that is slowing down and sometimes it's pretty hard to see.
Love you,
Eileen

That pool looks so inviting! I'm babysitting my g'daughter, gardening, doing the usual household chores, hopefully some knitting and weaving, and my volunteer work with the animals at a nearby city park. Re Max, is there a vet in your area who does K-laser treatments? Those helped my pooch near the end, until they didn't. Hope your ulcer heals and you find some relief.

Not exactly a restful weekend for you I see. Ulcers are no fun. I suffer from them on and off all the time. A diet coke, a stressful day, anything can set me off. I live on Tums and Pepcid. When they are really bad I head for the big blue bottle of the extra strength liquid stuff. It does the job better than anything-that and living on instant mashed potatoes for the duration.
As for the furbaby, it is so difficult. Our Maltese is on her last legs and is driving me completely insane. As our vet says, "having an old pet is like working in a nursing home 24/7". It takes a lot of patience and a lot of love to get through it. You have my best wishes-and sympathies.

I'm so sad for you and your family that Max is feeling so low. I know it's not an easy decision.. one we've made on several occasions.. but it never gets easier. Our little Buddy is nearing 13 years of age. It makes me angry how doctors have to EXPERIMENT on you to try the cheaper options before the insurance companies will PAY for the ones that work better. Grrr. I'm glad you stopped taking the last one. I hope they figure out what's going on. I hate to think of you having to go on into work when you feel this way. Thanks for the suggestion on my lace edge.. sounds like a good plan. Take care of yourself, my friend. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. My prayers for you and glad you stopped meds that make you feel icky with side effects! Love that Buddy is doing good in the pool now. I'm working on Monday 7 hours then off to home. Celebrating our granddaughter's 8th birthday too with ice cream! My daughter was diagnosed with diabetes so she's on meds. but glad it's now the answer to why she was feeling badly. I'm planting tomatoes and baking cookies but not together!!! Have a good weekend and get some rest! Hugs!

I know how this insurance approval thing goes. I've gone through some similar hoops -- but not with such side effects as an ulcer! Goodness. That is totally ridiculous. I hope the approval for the shots comes soon -- and that they work magic. Headaches are torture!

I am a bit jealous that you have two boys at home. Seth is using my car a lot this summer, so I'm seeing more of him, but Rachel is in Florida.

I'm trying to do as much creative stuff as I can, but also putting on a Memorial Day gathering for the parents.

LB really likes that water, doesn't he? I'm sure it's good for his mobility also, isn't it? He's so cute.

I worked all day in yard, went to flea market and came home and unpacked some more boxes. Will this ever end? LOL

Have a great weekend.

Little Buddy is so cute learning to swim! My little grandson was a bit afraid of the water until he watched a movie where the guy jumps in from the side of the pool and splashes all the water. Now, we can't keep him out of it. I do hope you can find some relief for the ulcer and side effects of your medicine. It's not fun feeling ill. Enjoy your weekend; we're staying close to home this holiday. Hugs, Pat

Sounds like lovely weekend planned, Mere. I love of the pics of your little guy in the pool (and man, I envy that!!!).

So sad to hear bout Max. How old is he?. Milo is twelve and he is having his hind legs give out periodically. He doesn't seem to be pain in and he also doesn't have problems running. I'm trying to help him build up the muscle after a cold, slow winter. I hope it helps. When they get old we have to watch for everything.

I hope the meds work out. One of mine upsets my stomach so bad and I have to take it when I know I have good half hour to let it work it's nasty way through.

Have a good long weekend We have nothing planned and I'm just rolling with it ! :)

So sorry that Max isn't in great shape. And that you're going through so much to try and fix your migraines. I do hope you manage to get the shots you need soon. I love the pictures of your Little Buddy swimming under water, what a star! It's a real stepping stone to be able to put his face in the water, there'll be no stopping him now! I hope you have a good weekend. A little garden tidying is planned here today, and then maybe a walk. CJ xx

Very sorry to hear about the headaches, it sounds as though you're going through a rough patch right now.I hope things turn around for you very soon. Sending you hugs across the oceans for Max. Good going to Buddy for his champion swimming skills. The boys both look like they're having fun in the pool.

Brave Little Buddy. So nice to see him swimming. No doubt great therapy for his legs and improving his overall strength. I'm so very sorry to hear about Max. It is so hard when our furbabies get to that point. He is such a love. Taking it easy and spending time with your family is the best thing you can do right now. Any medication always has side effects. We really are just big ol' guinea pigs for all these doctors. Each of us so unique and medicine is trial and error -- what works for one, doesn't work for another. Sorry to hear you've had to deal with stomach pain in addition to the migraines. Sit back, crochet/knit, enjoy the day with your boys and take care of yourself. Hugs, Tammy

Oh Meredith, I hope you get a reprieve from you headaches soon. I am keeping my fingers crossed. And poor Max,I hope he gets a little better, too. On the positive side, your boys look so happy in the swimming pool, it is a joy. Maybe Mr 19 could do the weeding so you can relax all day long. Happy crafting. xx

What wonderful pictures of Little Buddy in the pool. He looks like he's really enjoying himself. I hope that something can be sorted out for your headaches shortly and that Max shows some recovery.
This weekend I will be knitting and crocheting (as always) and catching up with all the sport on the television - an ideal weekend.
Enjoy your weekend, Meredith. The Betty pattern looks lovely, I hope you find plenty of time to work on it. X

Little Buddy is doing so well in the pool! I'm so excited to see those pics - he looks like he really enjoys it and isn't scared at all. I do hope that is the case. I wonder how much the medication side effects are contributing to your ongoing tiredness. If only life would slow down for you. Hang in there. xx

Oh dear, take care of yourself. Well you will be pleased to hear I cast on a hitchiker on Saturday night ready for a 5 hour train ride we are taking next week to the coast to meet my Aunt and Uncle. We have had lunch out today with gran and grandad and the cabin today tomorrow as we have a long weekend here in the UK and the weather is glorious for a change. I think your betty is going to be gorgeous. Jo x

So sorry, I've been out of the loop. Had lots of things to deal with after hubby passed. Finally catching up. What is going on with your migraines? Hope they can get them under control. I suffered with them for so many yrs, and menopause put them to a happy end. I know how rough they are. I love how great Little Buddy is doing with the pool. So good for him. He is just the cutest little guy. Love seeing him progress. Daughter and I just went to New Orleans for a much needed vacation and the first thing we found was a knit shop! And bought lots of yarn.! Such an affliction, wouldn't you say?

Loved the pictures of Little Buddy swimming. He looks so proud of himself! As he should be. What is wrong with your head...chronic migraines? I am so sorry you've had such awful side effects from medication. I'm also very sorry to hear about Max. Very sad. Not much going on here today...hubby just got off the midnight shift, so is sleeping now. I'm going to run to the grocery store to pick up a few last minute items for tonight's dinner.

Well Meredith, I hope you managed some crochet time this weekend, because that sweater is really pretty! Poor old Max, I'm so sorry. And you need to get yourself feeling well my dear! Finding the right medication can sometimes be a rough road.
The little guy is doing great with his swimming!! It's nice to see big brother helping him out.

It looks like your boys are having so much fun in the pool Meredith, I hope your weekend was restful, I praying Max recovers it must be so distressing to see him in pain. I'm so sorry to hear your migraines are no better and that the medication has caused an ulcer. Sending hugs to you. :) xxx

Oh Meredith, you do have a lot on your plate. Little Buddy is sure growing, and thriving! So neat to see!
I am so sorry to hear that you are battling your own health with the headaches and now abdominal pain. I hope it is not an ulcer!!! And Max...oh how it hurts my heart to think of it. We got Dusty when he was about six we think. He is slowing way down now, four years later. I hate the thought.
Do take care of yourself, and as always, I love that you still visit me!!!

Dear Meredith...now I know why you have especially been in my thoughts. I am asking the Lord to bless you and yours through all these transitions in life....and am frustrated and sad and concerned about your difficulties, but also so happy for Little Buddy's swimming progress and the love I know your family shares. Friday Tim flew to NJ for a friend's wedding, Sat. I crocheted like a crazy woman to finish a present. Sunday we celebrated three family June birthdays. Monday we sent off Gary and Elisabeth on a two week camping trip. Tuesday Tim plans to fly back to Portland, and Wednesday he and I plan to join Gary and Elisabeth camping. I just published a post and probably won't post again for several weeks, but know that you are dear in my thoughts and that I am holding you close in my heart and sending you much love and many hugs and will try to stay in touch. Please give Max some love pats from me. xxxxxxxxxx

Awww, wonderful photos, they tell a story. Little Buddy looks like a real water baby. I'm so sorry to hear about Max, it's hard to see them in pain, I hope he's a little better by now. Also sorry to hear that you're in pain too and hope you can get those shots soon. I hope the knitting and crochet has helped you though.

That pool looks so fun and refreshing with LB! I felt proud of him looking at those photos. I can feel his confidence in the water and that is great!

I'm sorry about your headaches and now Ulcers?!? on top of that. Really Headaches ... you can't run from them. I am sending you healing thoughts and hope it was a good weekend with you and yours. much heart.

Judy S. said...

Sending lots of good thoughts and hugs your way, Mere. Hope both you and Max are much improved by now. You have a lot on your plate, that's for sure. So glad that LB is learning to swim; that's a real necessity for all kids, I think, especially with all the pools in your area. It looks like he'll be quite a little fish very soon. Take care!

The swimming photos are wonderful. Little Buddy has one fantastic big brother teaching him--what a blessing!

I am so sorry about Max. I know exactly what you're feeling and I'm feeling it along with you. We've been going through something very similar with our old, old cat. I wish I had some wonderful words of encouragement, but those words all feel flat when you're in the thick of the uncertainty and heartbreak. I think of your past photos with Little Buddy, Max sitting nearby protectively, and yes, it's especially tough with small kids, trying to guess how much they understand and what/how much to tell them about what's happening to their furry friends. Max and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish you all peace.

Oh, Max. I hope his meds make him feel better. Poor boy. Little Buddy looks like he is doing great in the pool! Nice to have a big brother to encourage him! Hoping you will find the right solution for your headaches. They are not fun, I know. Take care, friend!

So sorry to hear of your dear Max and I didn't know you suffered from headaches. That's awful. I had a headache everyday for the past 5 years, went to see a chiropractor and Voila! - I've since learned how to take care of those muscles that were creating the major tension. I sure hope you can find the source of yours. Mine was so simple, I felt incredibly stupid for suffering with it for so long.

That is going to be a beautiful sweater and I love the color. Little Buddy looks like he is having the time of his life! Little Sweetheart.
