A special thanks and some catching up.........

First off I would love to thank you all for your loving support.  I am just so overwhelmed by all of your positive thoughts and all the love that has been sent my way.  The funny thing is I have been very out of sorts and isolating myself, yet feeling very lonely at the same time.  All I had to do was post and there you all are, patting me on the back and giving me a hug.  There was no need to feel sensitive or lonely, you were all here all along.  I thank you for caring so much, because you know what I care about all of you, too!

Okay enough of the mushy stuff.  Here is something that will make you happy or cry, look at Little Buddy!

He now has brand new forearm crutches that he is practicing walking with.  These are a step harder than his canes and he is doing a great job with them.  They make him use more balance and trunk control so they are not easy to walk with, but my boy is sure making it look easy!  Go Little Buddy!  He is such a fighter and isn't going to let anything stop him in life, something I can sure learn from.  These will hopefully be much faster than his canes, and will be more functional than his walker.

My darling Max turned 12 while I was on my little hiatus.  He is still doing really well.  Yes we have the occasional difficulty getting up, sometimes he may need a little bit of a hand, but most of the time he is getting up on his own and is still enjoying his life.  I gave him a much needed bath this morning outside with the hose, no groomer here at my house.  He was so happy to be cool and clean, well that is until I treated his ears, he is pouting in the lower picture because I had to use ear medicine on him, he is trying to make me feel bad!

Although I have been more tired lately than normal and have had less time to create there has still been some work on projects.  This is a scarf made for my friend Lynda whom I will be visiting next weekend in North Carolina.  I used my smaller loom with this scarf and it was so fun to make.  Made with Louisa Harding Yarns, Pittura.  It reminds me of the colors in a Monet painting.

After getting it off my loom I immediately warped my loom again.  This time I used Elann Peruvian Baby Silk as the warp, and the Louisa Harding Pittura as the weft.  It will look different but still have a similar feel to it when it is all done.  The Elann yarn came to me from a wonderful giveaway I won from Araignee.

I have made minimal progress on my Harvest sweater by Tin Can Knits, but am still enjoying the process.  I will be taking this along on my trip next weekend in hopes I make progress on it.  Berroco Remix yarn is so lovely to work with.

I have also been working on this very fun Cancun Boxy Lace Top by Erin Kate Archer.  I started this as the Olympics started but ran out of steam after swimming was over.  You all know my love for swimming, boy it was so exciting to watch this year.  We know several of the swimmers there competing, one of which won three gold medals!  I was so thrilled for him and his entire wonderful family.  Back to this sweater, in the original design it is much more of a crop top, let me tell you this 52 year old body is all about the tunic, no crop here, so I lengthened it quite a bit. If I ever finish it I will tell you the details.  This Tahki Cotton Classic yarn is at least 15 years old, it is some of the oldest yarn I own, talk about stash busting!

And last but not least my dear friend Marcia, who moved to Texas two years ago met Little Buddy and I for breakfast this morning.  She gave me this felted sheep with soap inside.  I am in LOVE with this little guy.  He is so adorable and will never get wet as long as he lives with me.  Oh and he smells so good, much better than a real sheep I am sure.

Thank you again for your kindness my friends.  I am pulling myself out of the abyss, slowly but surely.

Little Buddy looks so confident in that photo. He's a super hero!!!

I so want to hug a sheep, but I'm guessing it would not go well for either of us. Good thing you have a nice smelling, sweet little sheepie to hug!

I love the scarf you wove for your friend. She will love it.

I am waiting, waiting, waiting for cooler weather so I can wear my jeans jacket with the lovely little scarf you crocheted for me.

That felted sheep looks like Shaun the Sheep! One of my favorite cartoons.

I have been thinking I need a little loom. The 24" one seems like too much work sometimes, but I need practice, practice, practice.

Good luck to Little Buddy and his new walking sticks!

All your work is lovely and it just goes to show it doesn't matter how long we have our stash we always find the perfect project for it in the end. Have a great weekend. :) xxx

Buddy is amazing, he is beaming out of the screen and a delight to see. Ben loves his bath but does not like the ear thing either. I confess to going straight to Ravelry and getting that pattern. I may have to make another project bag. happy that you are feeling brighter. Hugs xx

I am so proud of Little Z. He is doing great and growing stronger all the time. What determination, we can all learn from him. I'm glad things are getting a bit better for you, we all have times like that, but friends make it all better.

Glad you're back again, you should be proud of that little man, looks like he is working hard. The colors of your WIPs are beautiful, can't wait to see them finished. That sheep is just too CUTE!.

That little guy is doing extraordinary! I'm going to be the number1 cheerleader for Buddy, you and your family! I may be totally blind...may I ask if he will ever be able to walk unaided?

You pup is beautiful. I recently allowed my vet to put my Milo---13 in a few weeks, on an arthritis med. Some say I am wrong to use meds but I know the heartache (and seriously...embarrassment on his part) when he falls off a chair or misses the mark when he tries to jump in my car. And he can also hurt himself like this. If he improves in three weeks we will continue the meds. I'm also playing fetch with him outside everyday to keep him running and building muscle. I will always, always do what I can to make my pets pain free and living life to the fullest. My daughter was against the meds...I told her she has not seen the terrible falls when his hind legs give out.

Life---not always so perfect.

I love your scarves. You are beyond talented. Do you travel to NC a lot? I'm not even sure where you live in Florida.

Happy Weekend, Mere!

Little Buddy will be like Tarzan with his new helpers!! He's
growing so fast too. I think so someone who has just said she
hasn't done much in the way of creating.....you've had a good go
at it my girl, love your projects. I reckon craft work of whatever
kind is good therapy....it works for me! The felted sheep is super
cute, love the eyes. I wish my dog look so normal after having a bath,
perhaps I better show him the photo of your well behaved boy too. lol

Oh my goodness! I am in love with your little guy. He looks so proud of himself with his new crutches. Oh, the things he will do as he grows older. The possibilities for a boy with the determination he has will go far in his life. And, my friend, it is because of the love of you and your sweet family and all of the help you've given him along the way.
Your new scarf is beautiful and both of your sweaters are too. I'm so impressed with your Olympic sweater even if it's not finished. All of the different stitches are perfect. I'm so impressed.
Max. Oh Max. I've never met you and yet I'm in love with that face. Mandy has to put drops in Polly's ears most days too and she doesn't like it any more than Max does. She gets the same look you're getting. :-). He's such a sweetie.
Meredith, you are loved by all of us here. If I didn't live clear on the opposite side of this huge country I would be on your doorstep to give you a huge hug. You mean a lot to me and although we've never met, I feel you are a true friend. I hope you have a lovely Sunday, full of fun and hugs from your Little Buddy.
Blessings my friend,
Betsy

It's a joy to see little Buddy again and his smile and read what you've been doing in your hiatus. Glad you are better in many ways. Yes, we bloggers are here for each other, which is a good thing. It's part of my world, this blogging world. I really need to pull out my fabric and get to cutting pieces for my granddaughter's quilt. Small but still the same it's work and Christmas is coming way too soon. Maybe I'll do that this next weekend as I'm off Monday. Happy weekend, my friend! Hugs!

Glad to have you back in blogland again and that you're feeling a bit better. Wonderful news about Little Buddy, he's certainly got a strong mind, it doesn't seem as though he lets anything hold him back. I'm so pleased to hear that Max continues to do well, he's such a beautiful boy. The scarf is absolutely beautiful, your friend will be thrilled to bits with that and how cute is that sheep.

Oh wow, it is so good to see Little Buddy on his arm crutches, there will be no stopping him now! He seems to have grown and got so much stronger over the summer, what a super star. All your creative projects are beautiful and I love the colour of the woven scarf. Take care and look after yourself.

Meredith, I know exactly what you mean with how you have been feeling - I think it's easier to tell your blog friends. For whatever reason, they seem more supportive than the people you are around every single day.

Little Buddy is going to set the world on fire, just you wait! I'm thrilled he is doing so well. Having a loving family clearly makes him want to do as well as he can.

Oh Max! Birthday Boy! I'm SOOOOO glad he is doing well, I've been thinking about him. Please give him a hundred thousand kisses from me (or at least two) and tell him he is the best doggie. I love him so much.

Wow - you have been busier than I have! The woven Monet is gorgeous, wow.

Take care, and keep feeling better. xo

It's been a difficult summer for so many, me included. And the weather has been crummy, for sure. Once we all get to sigh in relief, the collective breeze from it may turn into a tornado!

Take care.

I'm so relieved to know you are coming out the other side of some difficult times. Just take it easy, no pressure. Give yourself permission to say 'no' to people when necessary to protect your own wellbeing. In that regard, it was a positive move to set the blog aside when you needed the rest.

Little Buddy is looking so good. Wish him all the best with his new challenges with those flash new crutches. He will master those too and won't know himself. Will you be ready for a whole new level of fun and mischief? ;-)

Wishing you a gentle recovery and happier, less stressful times ahead. xx

P.S. Your Max is a darling. So glad he is still keeping on. Our pets know when they are loved.

LB is making so much progress. I hope you know what a difference you are making for this guy! You are truly an angel.

I've been out of sorts and feeling isolated, too. I can't post much about this on my blog because my mom reads it, but we have a terrible relationship and she is super demanding -- making it really hard for me to have a life. We just have to push on through these times, I guess, and make the most of what time we do have!
