This and that on a Sunday.......

This was the sunset Friday evening after many of the clouds from Hurricane Matthew had dissipated.  Thank you all for your well wishes from the storm, for all of your private emails and mentions here on the blog.  This side of the state was unharmed.  We had a bit of a breezy day, very little rain, actually it was quite nice out.  Our schools were canceled on Friday just in case, and Mr. 19 was home from his school in Orlando, it being canceled on Thursday and Friday.  He ended up watching Little Buddy for me while I went to work on Friday.  It worked out perfectly, especially because Little Buddy did his business in his diaper while he was being seen by his Speech Therapist, she took care of the clean up.  This is a direct quote from Mr 19, "I am so glad she was here because last time I changed his diaper it took me 40 minutes to get it on right."  He returns to Orlando this afternoon, it has been fun having him home for this unplanned visit.

.

Suddenly it is looking a little bit more like Autumn around here.  I picked up some sunflowers at the grocery store last week, they are so fun to see on my table.  I cleaned and decorated for Halloween yesterday.  Fun life I have I know, Saturdays are catch up days for me at home, all boring work that has to be done.  I am working on Little Buddy's costume for Halloween, he is going to be Chase from Paw Patrol.

Yesterday I looked outside and saw this amazing event.  Leaves turning colors!  This does not usually happen until December down here in Florida, and even then the colors are usually very muted.  I was so excited I risked being eaten alive by mosquitoes this morning to get this photo.

My wonderful sister Claudia wrote an amazing post about one of our candidates yesterday.   After all that has transpired this past weekend it was more than time these things were said.  Once again she is my hero for speaking her mind, for not shying away from the reality of the situation, and for not being afraid to speak her mind and potentially lose followers.

I love this little boy of mine so much.  He deserves a world were everyone is respected and treated fairly.  He put together a 24 piece puzzle all by himself yesterday.  I was so proud of him.  He went potty twice on the potty, and woke up this morning, crawled up into my Grandmother's rocker and read some books.   Little B is my hero, too!

Awesome pics of the leaves turning colour. Mother Nature has given us many beautiful things to admire and share. She sends us some trying weather too doesn't she. I hope all is well now. Nice of Mr 22 to come home for a visit and well done to Buddy putting together his puzzle.

Mr. 19's comment made me laugh out loud!

It seems to me that Little Buddy is determined to be as independent as possible - you have made him a brave and capable little boy. I cannot wait to see him in his Halloween costume!

I hope you have a good week and that the weather settles down for all of us.

Glad you are safe and sound, the sunset was beautiful. That photo is so colorful of little Buddy in his bright PJ's sitting in that striped chair. You made me laugh about Mr.19 and the diaper, I can just see the picture.

Little Buddy looks so sweet in that beautiful chair.

What this world needs is more women that will unapologetically speak their mind.

As the hurricane approached I got out my atlas and compared where you are to what I was seeing on the TV weather map of Matthew's path. I was/am glad that you and your area were spared from the worst of the storm...and am sorry for those who have/are suffering the affects of it. Cheers for Little Buddy's progress! Nanny Taffy Sheep is happy for him as well :) Your leaves and sunflowers are beautiful! Sending you some more hugs with love xxxxxxx

I'm thankful you escaped the hurricane! My brother did as well! The tree you have that's changing color looks like mine...a heritage birch tree. I've not seen one besides mine. That's how their leaves change as well! The leaves are mostly yellow now and they make their way into the house via our feet. I'm constantly picking them and into the trash they go. Yes, it's raining and gloomy here as well in this part of Oregon, about an hour from where Teresa and Gracie live. Good friends, they are! Buddy is growing and so thankful he's working on potty and books! Sweet! Hugs to him and you as well!

He looks so precious!! I love to buy flowers for myself too, but take them to school so I can see them. I'm there more than home usually, plus I don't have to worry about Gracie eating them and getting sick.

My daughter in Miami made fun of me for worrying about her. Sadly, she is too far away to come home when school is cancelled! I was relieved that the storm missed Miami, even if she wasn't!
Your Harvest is looking great. It is finally cool enough to wear mine here, and I have gotten many compliments. Of course, I've been wearing it to places where there are knitters!
Ah, potty training. Both of mine were hard to train. I had two in diapers for 18 months -- and I washed my diapers. I can't imagine how I stood that!

I was glued to the Weather Channel for days worrying about you all down there. I'm so happy to hear you made it through. I've been on the lookout for leaves turning here too but so far nothing very interesting. We are heading to Michigan this weekend so maybe I'll find some up north.

I am SO glad that all is well in your part of Florida Meredith. I have been praying for you and your family. I do feel so badly for all of those who have not escaped the brunt of it like you. Little Buddy is doing so well and I laughed out loud at the comment Mr. 19. made! :-). Fall is coming on very, very quickly here. We even closed up the trailer yesterday which is earlier than usual, but the trees have shed their leaves all around us and I fear the weather predictions for this year may actually come true and we may end up with more severe winter than we've had in the past few years. So preparations have begun and I'll winterize the sprinkler system here at the house this week too. I miss blogging. Blogger still won't let me post for some reason but I'm still thinking of all of my sweet friends out there in blogland.
Blessings,
Betsy

So glad you remained safe from the storm. My heart goes out to all those who were affected. Mr 19 made me smile and reminded me of the baby changing scene in 3 Men and a Baby. Little Buddy is a hero to all of us and you too for being such a wonderful mum.

Hi Meredith, I'm really glad to hear that everyone was okay in the storm. I didn't have a chance to say so, but you and you family were on my mind. How nice to have a surprise visit from your middle boy, and to have some help from him too. I'm not all that good at diapers myself, even after two of my own babies. :) I hope you have a good week ahead!

Your sister rocks, Mere! Love that LB, too. So glad that Matthew left your part of the state alone, and so sorry about the havoc he created on the other side of the state!

So nice to hear that even an Accomplished Knitter gets distracted and then has to "improve" upon the pattern. I feel a lot better now.

Send your sister to the Dept. if she needs to read a kindred spirit and feel Welcome. I'd be happy to have her.

Hello Meredith,

I'm so glad to know the hurricane hasn't caused serious damages in your part of the state. The autumn photos are beautiful. And your Little Buddy sure is a hero! I know how you feel. My seven-year-old has autism and even a tiny achievement on his part is such a great deal for me.

Hugs from California,

Olga

So exciting--we are getting fall colors here too. In the early morning when I go out, it feels like I just might need a sweater :-) Speaking of sweaters, I love your Harvest sweater. I am going to knit one too, if I ever get any time.
