Popping in for a quick hello......

Saturday we went to a wildlife safari at the nature preserve close by.  It was a nice walk, one Little Buddy did very well. Two years ago when we had this very same adventure he cried the whole time.   This time he only got tired when the path was too sandy.  We took the Aunts with us which made it loads of fun.  We saw turtles, different kinds of birds and feathers, snakes, bats and wee little baby raccoons that have not even opened their eyes yet.  The last photo is just to show you that Little B can have quite the attitude!

I am on week two of my mindfulness course and am finding that making the time or actually finding the time to be mindfull is my biggest obstacle right now.  I hope to get better at recognizing that I can just do it whenever I can.  The meditation portions are the hardest for me to find the time to do but I am working on it.

Wishing you all a wonderful week, see you soon.

So much cuteness! Glad the aunts were able to join you too, I know how much you love spending time with them too. I'm terrible at finding time to relax as well. I shall be interested to hear a little about mindfulness one day if there are any tips you want to write about. I know I would be terrible at making the time to meditate. But no doubt once you get into the habit of it all it will be easier. I hope you feel all the better for it. CJ xx

What a lovely surprise, finding a wee hello from you. It looks like you all had a fab time at the wildlife park. I do a yoga class every Monday, it is the only mindful element in my life and I love it. It helps me feel grounded for the rest of the week. I have a feeling that it takes years to feel comfortable with meditation, it is like exercise for the mind, isn't it? Letting go is hard work and needs practice. Wishing you a lovely week. xx

What fun! I'm with Buddy. Those nature walk things always tire me out-but in a good way.

Keep at it. I think mindfulness is what is getting me through the stress of school!

It is extremely difficult to find time to actually practice mindfulness so that it can be brought more into our everyday moments. My best place to practice is when I'm our for a walk, going to sleep and upon awakening - provided I'm not waking up late!
All my best to you,
Andrea

Glad you are getting out and about! Making time to not do something is hard isn't it, by which I mean not blogging but doing your course instead. Hope that it is going well for you and that you are feeling the benefit of it.

You would have appreciated my challenge this morning. One of the devotional disciplines I read about this morning was being silent...listening to hear from God. Even after years of aiming in that direction I still feel that my silence could be measured in a few nano-seconds! Sigh...
So glad you all had a good time at the wildlife safari even if Little B at times had quite the attitude xx

It looks as though a fun time was had by all. I love the attitude shot of your little guy. For someone that is so busy, I imagine finding the time is probably going to be the hardest part of this course for you.
Blessings, Betsy

It's great to hear about LB's lovely growth. Sounds like a lovely and fun walk even with a little sandy fatigue.

Wishing you well.

I'm so glad LB enjoyed the nature walk so much more this year. I bet the doting aunties had a lot to do with that. But also he is maturing.. next year he'll even do better! Those little raccoons are awfully cute! Good work on the mindfulness.. you can teach us all how to become better. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Sounds wonderful, that nature park.
That little raccoon (?) on the picture is adorable!
Just like Little B ;-)
About the mindfulness, it's like Christina says in the comments, it's an exercise. I never really meditated, but I do try to do an exercise to 'throw away' my worries now and then. It's not easy, but good of you that you try to do your best.
Have a great week xxx

Nice time out you had over the weekend with Buddy and your aunts. Buddy is the adorable character and glad he has you to help him in many ways. A quote I heard a bit back was 'Intend to attend and attend to intend.' Be intentional in your life work and walk with the Lord. Be a blessing to others. Hebrews 10:24-25 Have a good week, Meredith and God bless you. I'm proud of you!

Oh that baby raccoon!

Little Buddy is hilarious. That last shot is too much.

Good luck with your meditation. A friend of mine said you just have to stick with it and then it will become a habit.

I was ridiculously excited to see this post! Lil B ...........that attitude serves him so well. I so wish he'd come up and Troy and I could put him on a horse at SMILES and give him a ride! We really are learning so very much about horses and we love it.
That little raccoon is kind a cute.
So glad you are stretching your mindfulness and working on it! Im pleased for you dear one!

That's quite an accomblishment for Little B. Nature hikes tire me out too but they are so fun. It's a good kind of tired. Love seeing all his little faces! He's cute when he's smiling or frowning. And those raccoon babies.....so interesting.

I laughed when I saw the last picture of LB because what immediately crossed my mind was, "Uh oh, he looks spunky!" Glad he enjoyed the walk and animals this time. I find it difficult making time for meditation, too. I'm always thinking of what I can do next. Maybe that's why people like us need meditation the most. :-)

looks like you all had a nice time! hope you are doing well, it is good to take some time out for yourself.

Haha! I am laughing because I wondered whether you could really break from your blog for 8 entire weeks! Blogging gets in the blood I think; but so can your mindfulness practice.

Maybe it could be a case of 'little and often' to try and get into the habit and once you 'find' the 'little' times 'often', could you pick one of those times to extend and incorporate into your regular routine?

If I think of a crochet project as needing an extended block of time, it is always harder to get started - the thought of needing a block of time is a little overwhelming but if I break it down into thinking that I might only work on a little part of the project which only takes a few minutes, then I am leas daunted.

Can you take the same approach to your mindfulness practice?

I need to be mindful of my time today and need to go, but it goes to show by all the comments that we do think of you Meredith, even when you are (allegedly) away from your blog because we all came back looking for you! hehehe

Lovely pics of your family too. Have a happy day. xxx

Sounds like you all had a great time together. It is always a joy to pop over here seeing LB thrive so wounderfully thanks to all your encouraging love!

Such a sweet post! Nature walking, baby raccoon, loving aunties..no wonder LB thrives with you and your family. He is so blessed. I've studied mindfulness meditation and Buddhism for years. It fills one with such peace and love and what more is needed in this time of our lives. Love overcomes hate, peace overcomes a striking back world. I wish you only the most positive in your practice.
