The weekend......

So this is what a weekend is all about, you actually get to do things that help you to relax a bit.  I have had such a great weekend.  I had no paperwork and no big projects at home to complete. It all started yesterday with Gardening/Socialization Club for Little Buddy.  It is an hour and a half on Saturdays for a month or so.  After I drop him off I can run some errands all by myself while he is having a good time.  After lunch we came home and he had another swim in the pool.  It was much too cold for me as the solar panels had been turned off by accident, but he didn't seem to notice.  He swam and paddled around for almost two full hours.  It was so fun just to sit near him and talk while he dove under water and resurfaced still on the same subject.  The weather was beautiful, simply perfect.

Another wonderful morning with, "The Aunts," as Little Buddy calls them.  They are heading back to Wisconsin next weekend for the entire summer, they will be missed.  We headed to our favorite beach, Honeymoon Island, in Dunedin, Florida.  It was really busy and so crowded.  I guess all of those people moving back up north for the summer were saying their good-byes.  Still all we needed was a wee bit of room.  This was a trial for me and The Aunts were there to lend a hand.  I wanted to see if Little Buddy could walk on the sand with his crutches from the car to the beach, and from the beach into the water.  He did it all by himself just perfectly.  This will help me so much getting him to the beach by myself this summer.  We only went one time last year because I just couldn't carry him, chairs, towels and toys onto the beach all at the sametime.  Now that he has enough balance to walk in the sand with his crutches we will be able to go many times, life just got a lot easier.

Little Buddy was also able to walk into the water.  Now there were some waves so we had to hold onto him when he got a little deeper, but that is no big deal at all.  His giggles and happy yelps were infectious, he brought joy to so many people around.  Two lovely older women were just in love with him, even coming over to tell him he was the most handsome boy on the beach!

As for my two other handsome fury boys, they are adorable but in the doghouse with me.  While Little B and I were facetiming with Aunt Claudia they were ripping apart my favorite children's book, Where The Wild Things Are.  Let me just say the wild things are right here at my house.

Hope you all have a wonderful week.  I am not ready for it to be Monday yet, but here it comes.

I think it's so neat how Little Buddy loves the water! I'm glad he can navigate through the sand ok so you can go more often. I'm so pleased that you had a good weekend doing things you enjoy. I hope you have more weekends like this! We had a tour for volunteers yesterday which we had to get up way too early.. but we're taking it easy today. Sending love your way.. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I had the biggest smile on my face reading this post...well except the book destroying part. Puppies!!! But LB looks so darling with “The Aunts” in the water. So very happy. I’m glad that things will be easier for you this summer. Praying for a wonderful week that isn’t too tiring for you.
Blessings,
Betsy

You sure know how to make a Wisconsin girl jealous. Look at that beach! So gorgeous!
It's wonderful that LB can handle the sand. It's a shame to live so close to the beach and not be able to go.
I hope all that sun and exercise makes for a sleepy boy so you get some evening time.

Your time at the beach and by the pool sounds magical. And so well-deserved, my friend. Here's wishing you many happy hours at the beach this summer.

Now that's fun in the sun!!
Those sweet doggie faces must be hard to stay mad at but double trouble must be no fun. Puppies are cute but so much work.

I think you've got a real water babe there, glad you all had such a good time at the beach. Oh, that's quite ironic that your wild things were ripping apart Where The Wild Things Are, they're such cuties though so I doubt they'll be in the doghouse for long.

I am so glad you had a relaxing and fun weekend! I loved to see LB in the sea. I am pleased that he can now walk on the beach without much help. What an achievement. I am trying to remember how my little brother managed with crutches on the beach but I can't, blank memory! Wishing you a good week, with enough moments to take a deep breath and relax xx

That sounds like a perfect weekend. I'm glad you had one last day at the beach with the aunts. The wild things made me smile. Bertie has been hard work lately, destroying socks and other assorted things. His bestie Buster has worn him out this morning though, so I should have a couple of hours of peace. CJ xx

It is so good that he can walk on the sand, another door opens for him which is great. Glad you had a relaxing weekend. We did too even though we did some jobs in the garden we were all here together and that felt kind of nice. Have a good week. Jo x

Ah, well...puppies have a lot of jobs to do. Being Perfect is NOT one of them.

It sounds like you had a weekend of Mostly Good Things, however, so count it as a Win.

I was so pleased to read about your wonderful weekend, Meredith! I hope there are many more of these kinds of fun-filled, relaxing weekends ahead of you this year. You put so much into your work and your family it's great to see you get some recovery time. I laughed about your fur babies eating that particular book. :-)

I see Little B has also lost a tooth. I guess we won't be able to call him "little" B much longer.

Your beach pictures look like it was a gorgeous Florida day. Glad you were able to get out and enjoy it.

I recognize that look on your pups faces....I get that same look from my little hooligans when they've done something naughty. A weekend at the beach sounds fabulous. Looks like everyone had a fun time!

Lovely happy pictures - and yay for beach time this summer :) Our dog always used to eat my Mum's books - he favoured hers over everybody else's and eventually we decided it was because she was his favourite. A shame dogs don't express their affection a bit differently I guess! xo

Hooray for you for getting a real weekend at last! One of the best parts of my boys growing a little was me being able to sit at the side of the pool and not get in. So glad Little Buddy can get himself onto the beach too. What a great milestone!

I am so glad to hear that you finally had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Joyous news about Little Buddy being able to walk with his crutches in the sand! I remember you talking about how hard it was to carry him and all his gear at the beach.
