A long short week.........

Even though last week was short for us with a holiday and a day off school because Dorian might have headed our way, it felt soooooooooo long.

I took Little Buddy to the mall to ride on four different elevators last Monday.  While there I asked him if he was hungry and he said, "You can eat at the mall?" with utter surprise!  So we had a little lunch and he was so happy.  He is an adorable lunch date.

After a very long week of headaches, and an absolute ton of paperwork on top of regular work I took Little Buddy to his second horse back riding therapy.  He did so well although still anxious about the whole thing.  And the best news is this week we can move our lesson up an hour so it is closer to when he gets out of school.  I am so thankful for not having to waste an entire hour driving around.

So that is it.  I know so boring but each week can't be brilliant, normal life happens all the time here at my house.  And frankly after that horrible storm Dorian devastated the Bahamas I am just happy to have a house.

Have a good week.

Love that lunch photo. I miss going to the mall with my kids.
Have you seen the Oprah article on the daily exercise for headaches? I've been so miserable I tried it and....it worked! It even stopped one that was just starting. I hope it wasn't just a fluke. I need some relief.

What fun to simply find different elevators for him to ride! Do you keep track in an Elevator Journal? I'd be all over that.

Sometimes the least eventful weeks are better, especially when you consider Dorian. I feel awful for the people in the Bahamas and have sent aid through several different groups. I hope some of it actually gets to where it needs to go.
What a cute story about lunch and he looks happy on the horse. I'm glad you were able to make the appointment times better for you my friend. I'm so sorry you are still suffering so with headaches. I understand a little and yet, I don't think mine are as bad as yours. I'm praying for you my dear Meredith.
Many Blessings and love,
Betsy

You would never know Little Buddy was anxious about his ride. He looks absolutely enthralled with his horsey friend. I will bet that every week his confidence grows.

Oh, I'm just thinking about the time I had lunch at Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, Halifax. So nice, but I was so sick afterwards ... :-) Have a short and nice week. No headaches! Hugs, Regula

I remember my mum taking me shopping in the town centre when I was a little girl and we'd call in to one of the department stores for lunch, it was always such a treat so I can just imagine the thrill for Little Buddy eating at the mall. Glad that all's well after storm Dorian.

Just happy to have a house........you said it, and that's a mouth full for sure. Truly sad how many people affected by it. Glad things are moving along well with Buddy's horse therapy. Sorry about your headaches, hope they pass.

My sister, Margaret, and I monitored Dorian's track from M's home in Burbank, CA. While grateful for the safety of many, including loved ones like you, we mourned the horrible loss of many also. In spite of that loss and your headaches and workload, I celebrate with you good horseback riding therapy and the lunch date you had with Little Buddy :-) xx

I absolutely love each one of those photos, beautifully captured. Glad the riding is going well and that you've managed to move the lesson time - little things can make a big difference. Hopefully your dear little man will grow in horse confidence over the next few sessions. Glad the storm stayed away from you, the devastation in the Bahamas looks truly terrible. Hope it's a good week for all. CJ xx

I think your week was pretty darn adventurous! You're such a good momma. I don't know if I've ever told you but mom worked full-time the whole time I was growing up and to be honest, my younger sister and I were somewhat neglected. But we did have a home, clothes, food and school, so I guess I shouldn't complain. But I was in no way as well taken care of the way your do for your little guy. He's so lucky to have you. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Nothing wrong with boring and just doing the ordinary day-to-day stuff. I'm glad you are safe and tucked into your home. Love the photo at the mall. Your boy has such a sweet face.

It's those small things that we take for granted, like elevators and all of the places we can grab a bite to eat. I'm wondering how the horseback riding is therapy for your little guy? Is it physical or mental? Or both?

Dorian was one heck of a hurricane and my heart goes out to the people in the Bahamas. 70,000 still without homes. My daughter went on her honeymoon there in July and she was so affected seeing the pictures and arial views of the devastation of a place she called paradise. I hope you were spared damage--I have no idea what part of Florida you live in. I'm sure it was frightening, the early predictions, no matter.

Take care and I hope those headaches become a thing of the past.

Little Buddy looks adorable riding the pony so grown up. Hopefully those headaches will soon pass. Take care.

Normal life might feel mundane but it is the 'normal' stuff that is the heart of life. I had been monitoring the Dorian news and am so glad that it missed you but so horrified and sad for the people in the Bahamas. Events like these remind us not to take our everyday lives for granted.

Those photos of LB on horseback are so beautiful!
I love that you took your LB on a lunch date too. I used to do the same with my eldest when I was studying. After my classes and their childcare, we would go to a café and the highlight was the sharing of a huge milkshake between us. Happy memories.

Again, some of our fondest memories are created when we are doing everyday stuff.

Wishing you a good week to follow the looong one. xx

Flashback of the Blues Brothers with LB's exclamation:
"You can eat at the mall?"
"This mall's got everything!"
Keep smiling!

That is such a cute picture of Buddy on the horse. The woman with him looks so nurturing. I just sent in a donation to the people in the Bahamas. I am thankful to have a house, too.

I'm too glad Little Buddy is riding a horse on a regular basis! Such a wonderful special time for him.

I am glad that you didn't get too affected by Dorian. I feel so bad for the people whose homes were destroyed in the Bahamas it is always so tragic when these hurricanes hit. That is great that Buddy's therapy is going well and that his session got moved up an hour it makes such a difference in our lives when we can get timing right and things can run smoother. Hope you have a good weekend!

"You can eat at the mall??" I love that!
I'm glad to hear you were not affected by Dorian.

I was wondering how you all were doing in FL. Glad it missed you but so sad about people living in the Bahamas! Apparently the Coast Guard are still there seeking those who are lost and another storm coming their way this week, per a news report this a.m. Glad Buddy is enjoying his horse therapy rides and praying it helps him. I hear it's a good thing for certain children. Hope your week is good and blessed and your headaches go away!!! Hugs!
