Our dear blogging friend Teresa Kasner has passed away. To all of you who knew her you know how hard this is. She spread love and light to us all. She dedicated her life to her family, friends and to causes that were dear to her. Teresa was the first blogging friend I had when I opened this little blog of mine many years ago. She has been here for years cheering me on just as she has been cheering on all of you Her passion for crochet, beading, painting, nature, justice, environmental preservation and equality have motivated me to be better, to do better. She was such a light in my life, just one text away at anytime. I will miss her so much just as I know you all will. I will miss her passion for life, her beautiful photos, her life on the farm in beautiful Oregon and her love for so many.
It is hard to not justify this loss just like you would any deep friendship you have had even though you have never met. We are all in this crazy world together, and I think blogging friendships make us all more relatable, make us all closer even though we may be thousands of miles apart. We are all friends, trying to support each other the best we can and connecting to each other from worlds away.
So today I am thinking of all of us as we suffer this huge loss. A loss of an amazing woman that meant the world to me. I am thinking of all of you as I send you love because you all mean the world to me as well. Teresa's amazing family, including her husband Dayle, will need all the love and care we can send their way as they travel through this terrible loss.
It will be hard to travel this road of life without dear Teresa, but having known her has made us all better people. Stay safe my friends, once again we have been shown that life is short.

Oh Meredith, I am still in shock. I decided to blog every day this month because of the connections made in blogland. I could always count on posts and visits and comments and replies from Teresa. She was such a faithful friend. There are so many of you who I consider to be true friends even if we have never met in person. I will miss her so much.
You’ve articulated exactly how I feel. Rest in peace dear Teresa.
Hello sweet Meredith. It was wonderful to talk with you and hear your voice this morning. I'm sorry for the reason we talked though. I echo everything you said on your post today. Teresa was a good friend to many and always there whenever I texted, called or emailed her. I'm so grateful for this blogging world of wonderful friends that I have made.
Much love to you and your boys. All of them.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
Oh my goodness I didn't know--although I had seen her post about being ill. This is so sad.
I'm so saddened to hear this, Mere. Teresa was a warm and creative person and she was always so upbeat in enjoying the simple beauty of life. It is very hard to lose a blogging friend. It's hard for someone who doesn't blog to understand the kinship we have with those we have never met. In fact, I believe we know some of our blog friends better because we have the space to share what is vital to us, and share photos of the beauty and loves in our respective lives. One of my close blogging fronds, Linda, from Woke Up, Got Out Of Bed, passed away recently. I'm still mourning her; her wonderful posts, her gorgeous photos on Instagram, and our email chats. Sometimes it really hits me in the gut that she is gone. And in blogging for well over ten years, I have seen so many wonderful ladies pass away, and it hurts each an every time.
Thank you for a beautiful post. I left a comment on her last blog. Take care, Mere.❤️

This is sad news indeed. I live in London and loved my weekly rambles through Teresa's garden, Dayle's recipe book and the ever-changing seasonal decor that was such a feature of her life in that beautiful farmhouse. I delighted in her growing Jadeite collection and shared her admiration for Lucy Attic's blankets.
I enjoyed seeing her family and experiencing her day trips and summer holidays in that most breath-taking of scenery. Teresa's voice and personality came across so clearly in her posts and I shall sorely miss her presence. The window on her full, loving and colourful life has sadly closed and I wish her family and friends much strength as they face up to her loss. Thank you for being there for us, Teresa.

Heartbroken is right! It is a very sad event to lose a friend. Sending you a hug; how much more we appreciate each other when we experience such a loss....
Oh Meredith, what a shock. Teresa was such a wonderful woman. I've read her blog for years, and I feel that I know her family and little Mocha and her home and garden so well through her words. I found her through you I believe. She was always so very kind and thoughtful and generous and I think she lived a very full and active life. She will be missed far and wide. I will be thinking of her family tonight. Sending hugs my friend, CJ xxxxx
Mere a wonderful tribute to Teresa! It has brought tears to my eyes.
It is just too sad.
Dear Teresa, I shall miss you so much! Rest in peace dear blogfriend. Amanda )-:
This was a shock to read of Teresa's death. What a terrible loss to family and friends and to her beloved Multnomah Falls community. She lived a rich life full of art, beauty, and family. She truly made the best of her time here. May she rest in eternal peace.
How sad. My condolences.
I am still in shock. It is so strange how the loss of someone you have never meant can feel so terrible. I looked forward to her posts all the time and referred to them so often that even The Mister knew who I was talking about when I mentioned something I had seen her post.
I didn’t know Theresa at all, but loved her blog and her positive outlook on life, she will be missed.
Thinking of her family at this sad time.
Best wishes to you and your family.
Jacqueline
Oh dear! I knew she’d been sick and hospitalized, and thought when she didn’t post that she was just not feeling well. I’m so so sorry for Dayle and for her children and grandchildren, and for you as well! May she RIP.
I was so shocked to hear this news, and sad. Sad for her dear family - and sad for the many blog readers who, like me, have drawn comfort and pleasure from Teresa's wonderful posts x

I am so sorry for your loss. We can make deep connections, even if they are only through a keyboard and screen. They are just as important as the ones in "real life"
Thank you for sharing. I have read her blog for a few years now and was wondering how she was doing. So sorry.

Such sorrow for this loss.
Sending love and prayers,

Betsy let me know about last night. I was so sad. Megan went into offince to tell Phil about it and he came out and gave me a hug. Between that and a few other things that went on that day it had a hard time sleeping last night. I felt I was more awake than asleep. I've met Teresa quite a few times with husbands and other blogger friends in area (Betsy and Gracie). It was fun to be with her and encouraging!!! It makes me cry when I'm writing this. Life is good and then it ends, sometimes suddenly. But God is with us in this sad time, as He is always with us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.
I printed out a photo of a lady walking a dog at the tulip farm. Face not seen. I'm sure it would be a good thing she'd like to see. It's going to be photo for sympathy card I am sending Dayle. Hugs my friend!! X------X
I've had crocheted hearts from a pattern of Teresa for many years. Each time I see one, I think of her. I won't stop thinking of a woman far away in Oregon.

Can't believe it. I too became a fan of Teresa's round about the same time as I discovered you, Meredith and was always enthralled by her life on her farm and those wonderful pictures of the red barn in a snowy landscape, as well as her fondness for the Jadeite glass and her wonderful collection. She had such an interesting life and was very honest about her 'interval' on living alone during the early years with her adored husband. I also remember her sadness at the young granddaughters moving so far away for they were the same age as my eldest granddaughter at the time and I couldn't imagine being parted from mine by such a distance. I also still have the Scandi crocheted heart which she sent me all the way from Oregon in the early years of blogging and 'giveaways'. I'll treasure it more than ever now. God Rest your Wonderful Soul, Teresa. You were a fantastic person, inside and out. xxx
A beautiful tribute Meredith, what a shock! it just shows how short life is and to make the most of every moment. She is going to be greatly missed by us all. Sending hugs and lots of love. xx
I'm not familiar with Teresa's blog but I know that from reading your tribute she must have been someone very special. Sending my condolences to her friends and family, and those whose lives she touched xx
I always start with Teresa's blog to read and then yours. When I just opened her blog I wondered why she hadn't written an blog in over a week. And then I openend yours and I felt my bloodpressure drop. How weird, because I live in Belgium and do not know either of you personally and still... I'm a bit flabergasted now.

I'm so sorry, Mere. I didn't know Teresa or her blog but I do know the deep sadness in losing a dear blog friend (who becomes a real friend in so many ways except proximity) and it is very hard indeed. Hugs to you and all her friends.
Thanks, Meredith, for this lovely tribute. Your words express my feelings about Teresa exactly. What a wonderful human being she was! I will miss her and wish peace to her family and friends.
dear Mere
your tribute to her is beautiful.
losing someone is still an achingly horrible Loss. and to me there is no difference in a blog friend and regular friends.
I've read every single comment. just Look at the people she touched even right here! a life well lived. cut too short.
xo
A beautiful tribute to dear Teresa.. so very sad and she will be so much missed. Rest in peace Teresa. Thank you for you sweet words on my post today Meredith. Xxx
I will miss her, too. Thinking of you Meredith xx
Meredith such an heartfelt shock to us all. Special posts to her and my goodness she will be so missed ❤😔😢
Thank you for your beautiful words, as always. I actually found her blog (and your sister’s) through yours. I only exchanged emails with her several times and she was always incredibly lovely. it was uncharacteristic not to hear back from her this last time. I was really hoping that she was busy recovering her strength. Sigh. A loss is a loss, and what a year her family has had. Life is so very precious. Take good care.

Thank you for what you have written here and for reaching out to me through email Meredith. I so appreciate Teresa's loving investment in our lives and pray we all have the grace to love one another through this hard loss. Sending you many hugs and loving thoughts.
Yes, this is a huge loss.
I am struggling with my own loss. My dear friend Michael passed away on Saturday after a decline due to ALS.
Today, the world feels a little smaller.
Meredith
As you know I had just left town when I got this devastating news. I knew she was in the hospital for stomach issues. and I just shudder at how quickly she died. I left Dayle a note that I will be in touch.
She was such a fun decorator for each holiday, such an encourager to me, I just cant get my head around it. Those handsome young grandsons. Her dog. Her Dayle. Ugh,
when we took a river gorge trip in mexico, i go teary and my husband said are you thinking of your friend and Multnomah Falls. I cried, yup, oh you bet I did.
I did not know Teresa nor was I familiar with her blog, but I saw Tammy's post on IG about her. So very sad. It really hurts when a blogging friend passes away. Our connections run deep. I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend.
I am sorry for your loss, I love how blogging has united us with unexpected friendships and like friendships in real life a loss of life of a dear friend is sorrowful.
hi Barbara, i am her granddaughter. unfortunately we don't know exactly what happened yet, but i really appreciate your condolences.
Such a beautiful bouquet. So sad that she has passed. I'm sorry for your loss.
So sad, when I think of Teresa I always think of those beautiful table settings and the care she took to welcome her family, friends and blogging community. xxx
This is such devastating news. Teresa was most definitely a one-off. Sending you hugs. CN xx
My goodness! I am shocked to learn of this news today. Teresa was ever present in the blogosphere and always enthusiastic, encouraging and compassionate. She will be missed. Sending hugs and condolences. xxx
