It has been just a regular week here filled with school for Little Buddy, work and lots of paperwork for me. Little B had his Botox injections yesterday which always sets us up for a potentially difficult weekend. He has been doing surprisingly well minus a few short episodes of drama, so I am keeping my fingers crossed we make it through without a major breakdown from him or me. They are not fun but much needed to keep his gait pattern as equal as possible so he does not put even more wear and tear on his hips.
This morning he slept in which was such a blessing. The medications he takes to relax him and hopefully dull some of the pain from the shots really takes its toll on him. You or I would be asleep with all the medication he takes, not Little Buddy, he is talking, walking and even maintains his balance with those crutches. I started off the morning getting loads of chores done, cookies made, dusting, laundry, vacuuming and washing floors and even started cleaning my pavers by my pool. After he woke up and we had a quick snuggle, I set him up with some shows and breakfast and I got back to paver cleaning. Not a fun task but a necessary one with the mold and mildew in Florida. That of course led to weeding, pulling out vines from my bushes and supervising tree trimmers that I feel took a bit of advantage of me and my money. Still for now my trees are trimmed and my gigantic bird of paradise tree, that was as tall as my palm trees has been trimmed way, way down. You can actually see my house now!
As I was cleaning the pavers I glanced down into the pool and saw this little snake swimming frantically around. It took me several attempts to get it out with a bucket but it finally behaved and I scooped it up and put it on my lawn. I'm glad I found it before Little Boy went swimming later in the afternoon.
Little Buddy got a new bubble gun that he quickly submerged and ruined but he still had fun with it. There were no big plans for him today, just taking the day at his pace as he recovered.
These boys are exhausted from pacing back and forth in front of my sliding glass door as I did my outside work. Bear is able to use his nose to open the door if it isn't locked so I would frequently find them outside with me getting wet from all the cleaning I was doing. They were so proud of themselves each time they ventured out I did not have the heart to get mad at them. That is a lot of Mom watching, it is exhausting!
Not much work got done on my sweater last week. I was much too busy with work and had several late nights trying to make up for some of the patients I missed on Monday. And now I fear my head and neck will be hurting too much to get much done tonight. I am hoping a heating pad and early bed might help to counteract all my hard work today. Lots has gotten done but nothing all that exciting. But that is life isn't it?
Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Stay safe.

Freaky looking red snake in your pool. Glad you got it out! Is it poisionous? I did some plant work outdoors Friday afternoon. Warm outdoors and sat a bit on bench in shade after fertilizing new tree. Dug into dirt to do it. Our weather is cooler which is good. Take care!
You sure have been busy and dear Buddy a real trooper with his meds. So great he enjoys the pool and water activities Snake.....would not be good here lol Oz and many poisonous ones. Winter here and us minding 15mth old grandy πππ
Even ordinary days are full of activities. Glad you got a lot done.
Hello dear Meredith. Poor little guy. Those Botox shots are NOT any fun. I remember getting them in my back. They can hurt like the dickens. Good for him in being so brave. The fur boys do look exhausted. The heat here has me frustrated. The medication that lets me function with my back unfortunately has the side effect of making me intolerant of heat. Badly intolerant of it. Miss Piper was in a parade today and Mandy told me not to go. It was in the mid-90's with the humidity that I am NOT used to at all. I did get some cool ties from Amazon but she said that wouldn't be enough. I stayed home and they came for a visit after the parade.
I'm glad you got so much done, but I don't know how how do it all with Little Buddy, work, the fur boys and the house. Have you thought about hiring some help? Not that it's my business, but I do worry, it's in my genes! :-)
Take care my dear friend. I'm flying to Spokane on Wednesday and I'm terrified of being on an airplane right now. I guess I need to get used to it because we have tickets booked to London in July!
Blessings and big hugs,
Betsy
Whew....I'm tired thinking about all you did. I hope you get some time for yourself this weekend.
I feel ashamed of myself with my moans and groans about my ailments at present. If a little lad like LB can bravely put up with his periodical painful treatment then I think I should stifle my complaints. Do hope he is feeling better Mere by the time you read this. LB has a wonderful Mum! Take care Amanda x
Gosh. You have been busy.I think I would have delegated the patio cleaning to one of the men in the household!
Yes, much of the same here, lots of stuff to be done and all of the busy-ness, but quite a lot of it all the routine things. My little dog sits on the end of the sofa looking out of the window and waiting when I'm not here and he finds that quite tiring too. It is nice to be loved by a dog though, isn't it? I hope Little Buddy is back to full strength soon after his shots. Have a lovely Sunday my friend. CJ xx
What a busy weekend, but it does feel good when you get so much done. I hope Little Buddy has got over his jab okay, it's hard to put them through it on a regular basis but necessary when you know the benefits it brings. Those doggies are just too clever for their own good. Archie is like my shadow, he likes to be within watching distance at all times.
IIIks, a snake in the pool! I once saw a snake swim through a pond with its head high up. I couldn't go into the pond for a while ...
Have a good week!
Sounds like Buddy did better with the shots this time-hopes it improves each time he needs them. (my grand daughter had to have them for years bc of CP) The knitting will be there for you when you can pick it up again--until then, it feels good to conquer the living area with a good clean! Good job!
(uh, that snake doesn't look like a good one....)
Hope by now that LB is feeling 100% better! That snake looks a little scary, so I'm glad you got him out of your pool. Have a good week with hopefully a little knitting time!
Hoping you got to put your feet up for just a bit! Those pups are clones. TO me.
So happy to hear LIL B slept some of the side effects off. Your sweater is still amazing. Even if it just waits!
I hope LB is all better now. I know he finds those Botox injections really hard and he is such a trooper to just keep going. Busy weekends are good but sometimes too much business makes for an exhausting work week. I hope yours is not going to be one of those. Also hope that the heat pad and early night did you good. I always sleep better when I have been physically active. Have a lovely week xx
Gosh Meredith I think that there is plenty to see here, it looks like you never get a minute to yourself. That snake made me shudder how scary is that. I do hope Little Buddy is feeling better after his Botox bless him. I hope that you managed to get time to sit. relax and get a bit of knitting done it's looking fabulous. Have a good week. xx
Some weekends are SO busy that getting back to work is almost like a vacation! I can't believe how much Little Buddy has grown!
Frodo barks at all of our snakes which are mostly garter snakes. Today he barked to us that a mole was swimming in the pool. Another life saved. Love the photo of your son!
Sounds like a busy and productive weekend. We have lots of those at the lake, too. And snakes as well. The little granddaughter caught sight of her first watersnake and did not like it at all! Luckily, she forgot about it pretty quickly and didn't let it spoil her fun.
I know you're glad to get all those chores out of the way. I hope they stay done for a long time.
OK, that snake in the pool would've freaked me out! I'm guessing they're pretty much a common occurrence in Florida?
I hope you have a good week and that Little Buddy is feeling better after his injections.
You sound so calm about the snake in the pool. I wish I could feel that way, but we don't see as many around here, so maybe they take getting used to? LB is such a trooper and so very brave. He's my little hero.
You are so busy. I am impressed with all of the work that you get done. How nice to have a pool...
You've been one crazy busy woman! If I pulled all that off, I'd be dead, so I'd say enjoy that heating pad and a glass of wine or whatever else might taste refreshing and celebrate productivity. I'm glad the injections went fairly well. As for the snake -- yikes.
