Random Thoughts and Pictures

This is a picture of my wonderful dog Max. He is more human than dog. He is pouting in his "crib" because his father has gone away for a few days. Max feels very deeply as do most Golden Retrievers. After my Mother-in-Law left last week after a three week visit, Max just laid down on the laundry room floor and wouldn't even open his eyes to look at me. Not even when I tried to rub his belly! He was devastated. Not even a walk perked him up.
On my needles is this beautiful drop stitch shawl. It is in a beautiful silver/gray with tiny black specks in it. I am by far into more natural fibers but this yarn was so different and fun, plus it was 60% off at a store that was closing. It has been in my stash for several years. I think it will look fantastic to wear with jeans and a white shirt, or black pants. The picture doesn't do the color justice. More pictures to follow upon completion, which will be any day now.
Why do teenagers spend so much time not doing what they are supposed to? If they would just get it done then they would end up having more time, and frankly so would I.
Why do teenagers lie about such simple things then expect you to trust them with the car?
My husband is away this week for a workshop. He is the main cook in our house so this is a bit of a challenge for me. I made this blueberry pie with Agave Nectar as the sweetener because my son and I are hypoglycemic. It smells great and looks fantastic, I will tell you later how it tastes. I have been preparing meals today so that I am not overwhelmed this week. With work and the swim schedule at our house, dinners are hard to fix.

This beautiful shawl drying on a towel was taken off my loom this week. Very fun cotton yarn. I think it would have been better suited for a shell/tank top. I think a slightly more fuzzy yarn is better for the loom. So I decided to try the rest of this beautiful llama yarn I used for a sweater last year. Remember I bought this at Rhinebeck with my sister a few years ago. Still love the color and the softness.

If it is cold here in Florida I feel bad for all of you north of here. I do miss the snow a bit, okay, just a little bit.
Whoever said Motherhood was easy was crazy.
Why did God make it so your kids are going through puberty and you are going through menopause all at the same time? Is that some sort of sick joke?
Maybe my Title should be Crazy Thoughts and Pictures.

Ah, the joys of motherhood! That pie looks mighty tasty to a pie-lover like me. And your projects look beautiful.

Give Mr. Max a hug and kiss from his Aunt. Tell him everything will be alright. I could just reach in that photo and hug him!

This post made me chuckle! Everything looks great - your pie, knitting, weaving and sweet Max.
Yes, they are predicting another 20 inches this weekend - unbelievable, but pretty.
Good luck with your new camera!
