Is Four Enough?

I have finished my fourth Elise Shawl want to take a peek?  Yes I know you are all a bit sick of this pattern, I have to say that I am, too.  But it is a nice, easy pattern that looks really nice when it is finished.

Once again I used my Christmas present yarn to make this shawl.  It is from The Fiber Seed, Sprout in the color Amethyst.  I used 480 yards to make this shawl, almost the entire hank.  It steam blocked beautifully even though it is superwash wool/nylon. I love this color and can not wait to give this to a friend for Christmas.

I have given away the other three shawls and I would say they have been a big hit with my friends so far.  I love a handmade present don't you?

Now I have a decision to make, can my brain handle at least one more, or should I try something new?  I have another 480 yards of this yarn to use in a brilliant blue.  It is for yet another friend who is having her birthday this month.

What do you think?

I think as long as you're happy hooking it why not ... nothing wrong with a bit of repetition when the final result is this lovely :)

I say go ahead and make another one--I love handmade gifts too.
I have a scrappy quilt pattern that I just love-large pieces-so goes together quick out of any material theme that fits the person-my go to pattern for gifts--so yes I say go ahead and make another one-hugs

This pattern is so addictive! I'm working on my 6th now! Everyone loves them so much and I like them as a project to watch tv or a movie with so much. I'm afraid I'm going to hit a point that I won't know anyone else that will want them and I'll have them piling up. lol!

Oh.. I'm not tired of seeing your gorgeous shawls at ALL! I love them and am so inspired by them. Maybe when I get done making my "kid blanket". Caleb said it's not a baby blanket as he's not a baby. :-) I vote for another one! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh Meredith, Go for it! Sounds like you have fun with the pattern.....and you probably know the pattern by heart. Why don't you make it for yourself?!
The blue sounds pretty : )

I usually don't like making same thing more than once, but if it's something as gorgeous as this shawl, I wouldn't mind.

I think that if you love making them, you should keep going. Life is too short not to spend most of your yarny time doing something that you really enjoy.

I also say go for it Meredith, you do such a fab job with it - and I LOVE this purple. I thought you would make one for yourself eventually - maybe next one? It's such a beautiful thing!
Everytime I see your gorgeous shawl in the making I think I must try one but haven't shopped for the yarn yet, and besides, so much stitching keeps getting in the way - but I'm definitely ready! You are inspirational lovely Meredith!
Warm hugs,
Joy xo

Okay, I have been toying around in my mind to do something different for once and I think you have sold me on trying this shawl pattern. I never get tired of seeing it and if you are content to make a hundred that is perfectly fine with me. At least you always have a different look using the colors you have chosen, my AF motifs are starting to chew on my last nerve because as much as I love the scrappy color look, I am growing weary of the same ole, same ole thing. I honestly can say I never figured on making 3 of these blankets in such a short time period. Alas, burn out does suck!
