Gardenias

First, let me show you the beautiful shawl I am making out of the yummy silk yarn I purchased last week. The colors are much more vibrant than this photos shows but at least you can see the stitch pattern. It is a 16 row repeat from The Harmony Guide series, this one on lace. I will post more photos as I get further along. As I have only done two repeats I have a very long way to go. This pattern reminds me of Peacock feathers. I think it is actually leaves. I thought the color of the silk yarn would be perfect with this pattern. A 16 row repeat is challenging enough for me, but easy enough at the same time. For all you amazing lace knitters out there I am embarassed about this even being a challenge.
It is Gardenia season again. I promise not to take a bazillion pictures of the same type of flowers this year. I just love them and the smell......amazing!

They popped out on Mother's Day. What a lovely gift to me provided by the Universe. I have delivered several bunches to neighbors and kept plenty for myself. Beautiful aren't they?

Bunches of gardenias...what a treat!!
Your lace knitting is beautiful. A 16 row repeat sounds pretty challenging to me. I thought peacock feathers too. Love it!!

The lace is beautiful, Mer!

Did you check my post earlier this week? I showed photos of a shop I visited and there are some adorable teeny sheep - I mentioned you!

First off------- I find lace knitting ENORMOUSLY challenging and get cranky as snooties when the lacy around me just knit their pants off! ;) You are going great and I love the yarn and pattern!

Now---- gardenias! AH! I'm a southern girl you know and ADORE gardenias. Just love 'em! I've even been known to wear gardenia based fragrance in the summer to the dismay of those around me.

have a fab weekend!

Oh, thank you for the gardenias. They are so beautiful. I wish I could smell them.

I recently told my friend Beth, that when I become more comfortable and accomplished at crochet work, I'd like to make a shawl. I've become so attracted to them recently. They are beautiful and practical, and can dress up or down. Yours is going to be lovely!
