No Knitting

I haven't been knitting. I have three reasons. I may just be making excuses, but here they are.
1. Time....... Seems I have lost all track of it lately. Where does it go? How can I get it back? These questions I ponder all the time. No joke intended here.
2. The blanket I am making my son is almost finished. But as I have no Time (please see above), I am unable to finish it. It is too big to take with me so I am restricted to knitting it at home. And while I am excited to be in the home stretch with just 1 and 1/3 skein left to go I am finding it hard to get to the finish line with this monster of a boring blanket. My youngest son wants one too, which I promptly replied when you are 16 you will get your blanket. Good that gives me 3 years.
3. See the picture above. Crochet. This is starting to be a problem for me. I said before I was casually cruising knitting blogs when I came across this heart. Which as you can see is not knitted it is crocheted. I tried it on a whim and made many hearts. Then I saw the cutest bat (as in Halloween) on Sweaterbabe.com. Of course I had to make it. I would show you a photo but I have given them all away.

I am pausing here to catch my breath before my confession continues. The pumpkin above was a gift from my friend Lynda. She totally "gets" my Halloween fascination and feeds into it on a regular basis.

So while my blanket is too big to tote around I decided to try my hand at making a pumpkin of my own design. Now I know I am not a crochet queen, but I think I did a pretty good job. I have made one for a friend, two for my mother-in-law, and one for my acupuncturist. Does it look like a pumpkin to you? Or do you think it is a bit silly? Sometimes when you make something you lose the ability to see it for what it is. Cute or silly?

Oh my gosh, sister, that pumpkin is perfect! Yes, of course it looks like a pumpkin! Whoo hoo! I really love it.

I have the pattern for the heart and may just make it when I'm taking a break from the afghan.
